    Yes! I’m an intuitive and empath and have been smoking for too many years. It’s my last addiction to break - I’ve just started qi gong. I searched cigarette and qi and found this video. Thank you

    That is so helpful to learn! I've had amazing experiences with qigong for heroin addiction a few years ago but I never knew what the underlying problem was , my addiction came back full force when I stopped practicing everyday! Thank you Jeffrey, I am grateful to learn from you!

    Hi Jeffrey I am what you say sensitive or sensing. The past 15 years I having been taking care of my family during difficult personal and health problems. I can go into a room and sense what’s going on and I have a hard time not being pulled in. I have only done your videos twice, but both times I can feel my jaw loosen and drop. I know I’m holding a lot in. Finally I have a way to get it to a more yin and yang position. I just promised myself once a day whether I feel I need it or not. Maybe I can over time control the anxiety that being a sensing person brings. Thanks so much🙏 S

    you are totally right! i work as a therapist with addicted people and they need a lot of grounding. they cannot take the bus... without using drugs because of deep fear and traumatism. we do Chi Gong and Tai Chi together and it helps a lot! one of my patient succeeded to become clean.💫🌈😇🍀

    Thanks for your extraordinary videos. Yes, I agree with everything you said and when I am moving within my body and I get into my own rhythm and flow I am much better. You described me to a "T", no one has ever explained it to me just as you have done. I can go into neighborhoods, touching books and paintings and feel the experience, I can go into room and experience what occurred in the room; sometimes I just want to turn it off. Thanks again.

    I have a lot of anxiety and panic attack which I really like your video on those too...I'm not addicted to any substances but I think I'm addicted to negative thinking which lead me to anxiety and become a panic attack. I noticed one day I was having a good day but I keep saying it wasn't going to last and that something bad going to happen and I end up having anxiety attack cuz I was feeling too relax! That just don't make sense to me!!!!
    I really enjoy all your videos... always helpful! I hope u continue doing what u do, namaste!

      Thank you! You are very insightful to notice that you are "addicted" to negative thinking. I think that is very common nowadays. It is much easier to notice the negative/scary than it is to notice the "good" things because we are constantly reminded of it in our culture and media.
      If you start getting relaxed then all of a sudden develop stress or anxiety you are quite normal. In Eastern traditions they called that the "protector." It's part of our DNA and evolution that has helped us survive in the past.
      If we continue to remind ourself to relax and practice being in a calm state the "Protector" starts to calm down in time.
      Try to keep practicing qigong and it will settle in time! Let me know how it goes!🙂

    It seems very logical from a Qigong perspective that parallels with psychology. Especially with the sensing or sensitive symptoms in Bi-polar disorder.

    Did not know this about being a sensitive/sensing person and the balance between yin/yang. Taking on moods and energies of others can really cause an internal turmoil. Going to make sure i practice consistently from now on! Thanks!

    • @ThinkVitalityQiGong
      @ThinkVitalityQiGong  7 років тому +2

      Yes I believe it' true. That concept is not a traditional idea- more of a synthesis of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), qigong, and clinical experience. If we can protect our sensitivities we can really save our own root energy from being depleted.
      Thanks for your comment!!

    Hello
    What you said about low yin make sens
    Maybe you can give as a routine to lift up Yin energy without creating imbalance
    Thanks

    • @ThinkVitalityQiGong
      @ThinkVitalityQiGong  7 років тому +3

      Absolutely! I have several free ones on this channel:
      ua-cam.com/video/tiby-6_7qsI/v-deo.html - very easy, great for anxiety as well
      And here is a full routine that you can use as a daily practice:
      ua-cam.com/video/CCicH-iz1oU/v-deo.html
      These will help the Yin energy without creating an imbalance. We also have more specific full routines in the "Communi Qi" as well (not on UA-cam). Thanks for your comment!

    The addictive mind is definitely very sensitive and hyper aware of the situation. Observing all that’s going on with your many senses (sight and hearing would seem to be the most affected)being overstimulated/overwhelmed feels like you’re brain is on overload. It’s terribly uncomfortable to be in that atmosphere and addictions are just very poor coping strategies to shut up the monkey mind. I like that if you can check in with your body and mind and direct your breath back to yourself, you will be calm without a racing brain. To bring that energy back into yourself and using it positively (usefully) sounds quite profound (though EXTREMELY hard to achieve this). But a beginner wouldn’t have enough knowledge to put these skills together.
    🍏🥬🍑🥨🥗🥟🍫 for thought (though I’m not sure if that’s quite what you were trying explain). Unless you are an intermediate practioner, I’m assuming this won’t work? Us beginners are the ones who probably need it more but they’d also be more at homeostasis anyways.
    Anyway, I see where you’re coming from but it also shows it’s never work if you were a novice and those are the ones with addictions. It sounds lovely but addicts are very ill and won’t watch these kinds of videos. They’ll be to busy indulging.
    *I have an extremely addictive mind. Bad coping mechanisms. Did I mention I have ADHD and can’t shut up? Not sure what I wrote but hopefully no one sees this and if you do...I’m sorry, my mind is currently racing. Zoom...gotta jet.
    🙏

    Thank you, Jeff! This is a very harmonized perspective on addictions. The idea that those who suffer from additions are more sensitive and may have depleted yin is insightful. I would guess that they are drawn to additive behaviors to de-sensitize. Of course, there is the circularity of dis-ease. Which comes first, the sensitivity or the addiction? And I know they "feed" each other. I am a qi gong instructor, with a YT channel too ;) I am beginning to work with a Functional Medicine team, contributing private qi gong instruction to individuals who will be on retreat with the team for 5-12 days. I know that we will be working with individuals with addictions, including alcohol. Do you have any recommendations for breathing, purging, flows, or tonifying exercises for alcohol addiction? It seems that a practice that includes cleansing and centering breaths (clearing and building lung qi), exercises that focus on moving liver qi, exercises that build kidney (yin), exercises that build wei qi. I realize that you may not be able to provide specific advice (liability issue) and you may need more information. Fortunately, I will be working with gifted team. Thank you for your consideration!
