Thanks. I didn’t know each house in Japan uses underground septic tank. So it costs $152 to get poop pumped out of your tank every year. Very good to know. No other channel mentions this. Very handy woman. How come no AC in the house? Btw, why do you not say gozaimas at the end to the guy? Have a great day!

In the UK your sewerage system is what we'd call a,septic tank. Here they're mainly used in properties that are too far away to be connected to the main sewerage system that serves most houses or in small villages in rural areas that don't have sewers like cities do.
One thing I think is cool on Japanese toilets is the hand was basin on top of the cistern tank so your waste hand-wash water goes into the cistern to flush the toilet. You don't need drinking water clean water to flush with and it's a clever water saving device.

We think you look great, but we really don't pay attention to your looks. We find you informative, smart, real, and exactly what we want to watch in this world of fake influencers. Keep doing you. Forget the critics. Maybe they meant well, wanting your channel to "go viral". But you keep doing it the way you are. You're honest, and you don't hide the inconvenient or weird parts. It’s refreshing to see someone being genuine and real on a platform that’s often filled with filters and overly polished influencers. Your authenticity is what makes you stand out, and that’s what keeps me coming back to your channel. It’s disappointing to hear that someone suggested you should change your appearance to be more "attractive." Honestly, the internet could use more people like you who are comfortable in their own skin, rather than another fake, filtered persona. Your confidence and the way you present yourself are already amazing, and that’s what makes you so relatable and inspiring.Keep doing you, because there are a ton of us out here who love and support you just the way you are.Stay awesome!

Your toilet's water valve is a gate style which has this issue after a few years. It builds up hard deposits around the stem. If it's not too bad, it can be repacked, lubricated or adjusted. I usually replace them with the Teflon ball valves that last longer and are more reliable.

Chani, your videos are so comfortable and real and just so lovely, ignore the people who leave mean comments, I can truly say the way you make videos is awesome. Your style is awesome, and watching you makes one feel like you're having a friendly conversation with the viewer like a real person. Please do not feel that you need to like hide anything or make the videos more curated and more produced, the reason why I (and 30k other people) enjoy your content is because they're real and so charming and friendly.
You make your viewer feel like they're coming along in your daily life, learning about potential challenges of moving to japan so as to be better prepared for those of us who are planning on doing this too one day, visiting and coming along on your adventures, and getting to know how the real life looks like in japan, and part of this is getting the waste tank cleaned out (I didn't even know that exists so like totally interesting)
Please do not listen to these hate comments, if they are not liking the content you're making then the content simply isn't for them, but its for us, for the 30k of us who are here for exactly what you have been doing so far, and many more who haven't yet found you. For us you're perfect, and we love your content and your videos. Be yourself and know how much we appreciate you :)

I love how down to earth you are. People will always have something to say positive or negative. Those who constantly focus on being negative or toxic aren't people most would choose to hang out with. I choose to hang out with you because you are real, you dont hide the difficult parts of being a westener living in Japan. You are primarily a positive person who admits to having difficulties from time to time. Your ability to do tasks is great, but so is your ability to ask for help when you need it. Its a honest way of being. Thank you for being you Chani, I love your channel. It is a positive moment in my week and it encourages me to keep persuing my dreams.❤

I’ve always thought that you were so pretty and put together. Ignore that person, they don’t care about you, they just want to hurt you to make themselves feel better. This was such a fun video. Well done!

One of the things that I appreciate most about your channel is that you're just you, you look like a real person as you say. And may I add that there's nothing to improve in my eyes anyways so I don't really know what they talk about.
There was one video were the title was something like "from drab to fab",and I got sad and thought "oh no she's going to have a makeover but I love the way she looks". And then I was immensely relived when I saw that it was your garden and not you who had a makeover .
Stay you ,that's what I love about this channel and what makes it so über cool!!

What I love about your channel is that you present the reality with its joys and difficulties. There are enough content creators who present a filtered, perfect world. I wish there were more people like you. I admire your courage and down-to-earth personality. Please don't change anything about your channel or yourself.

Theyre very genuine and different than all the other Japan-based channels. Keep doing YOUR thing and I'll keep watching!

I love the reality and lack of overly dramatic nature of your content Chani.
Would that be a septic tank that needed flushing? Incidentally did you ask those workers about their vests with the cooling fans, I recall you were curious about them recently in the camping store.

    • @ChaniJapan

Yes. Their vests have a battery pack and they last 5 hours. When it gets to the middle of the day they turn them on to cool their bodies.

Exactly why we adore your channel! You are real, and down to earth. Your narrating and shared day to day topics, are so easy to watch/listen too, without fluff ie loud music, hyper talk, fake silliness. You are relatable and interesting. Keep being you, Miss Chani! We look forward to each video and appreciate hearing about your life in Japan with Millie; whether out and about, or home in your jammies!
