So interesting! Especially the part about what different kind of meditation can do to your brain! I’m going to put more thoughts into choosing my daily meditation :)
This episode showed up at the perfect time! I'm trying to build new habits each month for the rest of the year. (Started in October) with 5 new habits. This month I evaluated what worked and what didn't. For example, journaling was just something I could not get myself into. I tried for like the first 2 weeks of Oct. and it just felt too much like an obligation rather than actually benefiting me. I still want to have something personal growth like that, though. So i decided to look into meditation! I've done it a few times before and have noticed that i feel better, generally, afterwards. It definitely wasn't a cure-all for negative emotion and sometimes it didn't help at all, but like training muscles, it's the consistency that i think is most important. So having this episode show up right now, as i start a serious meditation journey is just funny. My question is: in the video you mention the different types of meditation and how they affect the brain. Is there a benefit to practicing multiple types of meditation at once? Like how one works legs one day, arms another, and core another. Or do you think it's better to just focus on one style and roll with it for a while. The mental training you mentioned took place over 9 months and these serious outcomes where able to be seen. That's a long time to stick to it so it makes sense. Do you think if they would've worked in other meditation styles in addition there would've been more positive outcomes or it would it have been too muddied to see a difference? Sorry for the long comment, and I guess I'm not looking for a definitive answer, because I don't think one exists. But more I'm just looking to hear your opinion as one who meditates and understands it better than I do. Thanks so much!

I appreciate you so much 🎉
I feel like targeted meditation is more motivating than general meditation
