Best of GWI: From Emotional Regulation to Practical Manifestation (Interim Episode)
Hey all! I've been BUSY (Got married! Honeymoon! Got sick!)
I created a quick episode this week... but it turned out rushed and low quality as I hurried to catch up. So, instead of pushing out rushed content, here's a little interim episode to keep you going until the next one!
Appreciate you!
Michelle

Thought Walking for Better Ideas and Wine Cheese and Finance Night | VLOG 1
Just a shadow work resource that I use seekingserotonin.com/category/shadow-work/
I so appreciated all the reminders! One can never have too many of them (especially when they're of immense value). It was encouraging to hear that having limiting beliefs doesn't inherently hold the power to prevent us from creating and doing our thing. Also please do take time off and take care of yourself!😊
Jemima Kirke is such a queen❤
I enjoyed listening to these reminders, thank you 😊💛 I‘m glad your being mindful with yourself and your content
appreciate you!!! thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment ☀
michelle, tbh, ALL of your stuff is "the best stuff." not kidding
You are toooooo kind!!! Sending you so much love 💛💛💛
Exactly!!
Focusing on helping others improves our self confidence since we have to believe we're valuable to the world if we're working to make a difference. It's a great reminder that neither life nor the world revolves around us.
You’re such a wonderful human being and a beautiful bride. Thank you
You are too kind! Thank you for your comment 💛
Being introspective is a double edged sword. This is a very helpful perspective. Thank you for bringing it to my awareness.
Absolutely. I’m glad you enjoyed the video :)
Not gonna lie, I saw 'metacognitive Therapy ' and expected a cultish video. This is an actually really good video, with a lot of good information and very nicely done! You've got a new subscriber!
Haha I can totally see that - metacognitive therapy is lesser known but it’s definitely evidence based and not cult-ish at all. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!!
Nice video. I'd just point out that we don't eat chocolate to get dopamine. We eat chocolate cause it tastes good (and the increase in dopamine reinforces the behaviour).
Yep! True.
I love how this form of therapy sounds like it really helps you basically stopping focusing on just you, you, you (self). I see that with myself and others that you you just focus on yourself, everything feels worse, looks worse and we perceive everything as worse than it really is. It is so crazy when you start to notice it. I hope this therapy grows and really helps more. I will definitely be checking out your recce!
Yess I am glad you enjoyed the video, there’s definitely a strong focus on reducing self-focused rumination and for me that’s super aligned with my brain. I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
This is was a fantastic vlog! ❤
Thank you!!
@@muchellesidenotes congrats on your wedding 💍
thank you so much 💛
Thanks so much for your comment :)

6 months is too little. You have to atleast commit yourself for 2 to 3 years. Speaking from personal experience
I get that! I also think the mode of therapy and the relationship you build with the therapist has a huge impact on this. Going to a bad therapist or a therapist that uses an approach that doesn't work for your brain for 2 to 3 years might make things worse and cost a whoole lot more than necessary :)
This is brilliant, thankyou for making this. I've just stumbled upon this video and honestly think it's one of the most helpful videos I've seen on mental health, in quite a while! So thankyou again :)
Thank you so much!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
This was so helpful. I am struggling with the ruminations and your journaling ideas sounds incredibly helpful. Thank you for sharing your podcast here!
Ooouuu, I just know this is gonna be good from the title haha. Can’t wait to listen to it! Thanks as always! ❤
Thank you Michelle, this is pure gold.✨
Needed this boost. Your content always inspires me to keep growing. Thank you for all you do!!!
yes please on the meta-cognition series (or at least one video)!
michele, can you please write down the name & author of the first book you mentioned--the person w the eating disorder?
little treatments, big effects! by Jessica schleider 💛 It’s a good one!
Therapist listener- would love a meta cognitive therapy episode. Thank you for the podcast 😊
LOVE this video. So much nuance that I needed to gain perspective on. Thank you!
Totally feel free to post any content about things you are interested in! Maybe we are interested too but we just don’t know it yet 😊 Also, mom I cook with my hair down too, your house your rules!
Like the saying ‘ignorance of the law isn’t an excuse’ it’s scary to realize how easily we can make mistakes and offend people esp these days when people are so open with being offended by things that might have been unintentionally offensive but we shouldn’t use that as an excuse to never apologize. Always be learning lol that’s my motto. Excellent manners are all about being considerate esp around highly sensitive people. Last week I opted out of a family gathering bc the people are easily offended by things I never intend to be offensive (differences in style basically) and they’re also extremely opinionated and religious. It was giving me anxiety attacks and what felt like an ulcer just bc I knew no matter what I did they would find something to be offended about. It was a no win situation. So a few days before the gathering I was honest about feeling sick which was real I just didn’t say it was them causing it lol and stayed away. They had a lot of fun and I rested all week. I’m no angel but in that case it really was making me sick bc I didn’t want to hurt anyone even if they were looking for their own hurts intentionally. Extended family and in laws it’s all so complicated.
finally someone who points this out. the world has hope ❤ you earned a subscriber babe
Hey hey! I've been posting my podcast episodes on my main channel for some time - but now I'm switching it up and posting over here! This is a biiit of a controversial one, but like I said... I actually don't disagree with these ideas, I just think that context and nuance is necessary when it comes to very strong takes that can have such a big impact on how we navigate relationships. A lot of these takes were originally created to apply to narcissistic people / strong "takers" and it has benefitted me to add nuance when it comes to people I generally find respectful and kind. I missed a little bit of nuance: "You're allowed to change your mind" is always an absolute when it comes to ANY personal high-risk decisions e.g. sex, buying a house, getting married etc . It still technically applies to all decisions. However, when decisions are lower personal risk (e.g. committing to attending a friends birthday dinner or agreeing to help a friend move), it can sometimes be kinder to practice taking your sweet time making a decision instead of regularly pulling out. If there are more lil nuances you'd like to add, chuck 'em in the comments, I wanna hear 'em.
Thank you❤
I love your information creation way more than the cinematic videos because I love stuff straight to the point! Also love a chill blog though
Appreciate the little chat about not having to be a "cinematic" UA-camr because ugh, I often struggle with the feeling that videos have to be mini movie (and then feel bad because my skill set isn't in that area).

Honestly never thought of putting my hair up at home, although I probably should as my boyfriend occasionally find one of my hairs in his food 🙄 Loved the vlog!

Very nice to see more of you! Loved this, I hope you continue :)
Michelle, are you vegan? I know you love your tofu scramble, but I never paid that much attention lol! Also the blue top looks great on you, I think it balances out your neutrals (skin, light hair, glasses) very well :)
I'd consider myself plant-based, not vegan, but try my hardest for sure :) thank you, I'll take it!!
Love this!! Can’t wait for more 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love this vlog style! Your parents house is amazing!
So glad you started this vlog channel, Michelle! I smiled so much watching this <3
That makes me so happy 🥰🥰🥰
LOVE THIS! I feel like you're one of like my internet bffs 💕
this was really fun to watch. I find doing reflections/reviews the most challenging. It always feels like I have this massive overhaul and it becomes intimidating. I'm really impressed with your review system! 😆
