This is great thank you! Checking out OBS and your platform tomorrow.. can I ask though - would I get a similar, acceptable result with my Canon 750D camera? Keen to avoid buying something new but not happy with my Logitech 4k webcam at all. 🙏🙏

You can find a list of compatible cameras with the Elgato Camlink here: www.elgato.com/us/en/s/cam-link-camera-check
Some Canon cameras don't work because they don't send the regular full video feed through HDMI. Logitech webcam 4k quality is very different from a professional camera like your Canon and typical webcams just won't look as good because they have a small image sensor compared to a professional camera and they don't have constant frame rates.

Awesome video! So easy to watch. Nice camera suggestion (A6400) I'm actually torn right now between getting an elgato prompter or alternatively a glide gear teleprompter to use with 10.2" iPad for talking head language education type content. I know the elgato is fantastic - just thinking about the convenience of having lots of teleprompter app options on iPad , and also not being tethered to my MacBook Air all the time like with Elgato....any thoughts?

So I would personally never consider an iPad teleprompter for a couple of reasons:
      1. It is too bulky to be easily kept near my screen. If you are recording from your desk and don't want it to look like your eyes are reading back and forth when looking at the teleprompter, then you actually have to compress the text width to about 4 inches wide, and slight bit of extra screen real estate from the iPad wouldn't make a difference in that case.
      2. I want the convenience of having what information I need on the teleprompter instantly. Since the elgato prompter acts as a separate screen for my computer, I can just paste a script or notes there and have it show up, or move a zoom window there and be able to talk to someone more naturally. The solutions to mirror a screen with an iPad are all inconsistent and finicky from what I have experienced.

@@heightsplatform Well that just about settles then, wow, excellent points, thanks for that. I guess my only remaining hesitation is: 1.) having more choices of teleprompter apps with the iPad setup. 2.) Mac users seem to have a lot of frustrations with it (I'm a Mac user) But anyway, thanks again, you got me leaning heavily in the direction of the elgato.

@@steveperry4243 you're welcome! The built-in elgato camera hub app for the teleprompter works great and can be transparently overlayed on any other app on screen on your Mac. I'm a Mac user as well on a MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon and have the Elgato Prompter as one of 3 external displays and it has worked without issues for me since January of this year!

@@heightsplatform Great info thanks. Elgato it is. 100% now. Thanks for helping me make the decision. Looking forward to more of your content.

Your videos are like 15fps. You really need to improve that before giving advice to others. Not to sound too critical, but 24fps should be the bare minimum for any setup. It's so laggy that your audio even looks out-of-sync very often. You really need to fix your own setup before you make any recommendations.

Hey Ryan, all the videos on my channel are recorded at 24fps. It seems there was a hiccup during the editing process of this particular video, which caused some moments to appear out of sync.
This also goes to show that keeping things simple, as I mention in the video, helps in getting your content out there without getting bogged down by technical issues and that maybe one shouldn't worry about flashy video editing. Thank you for your feedback, and I hope you find our future videos more aligned with your expectations.

Published a new video today and we made sure there aren't any hiccups in the export before uploading: ua-cam.com/video/s5HxcAmlyIk/v-deo.htmlsi=K13SXX6oCps6pRUd
Unfortunately, UA-cam doesn't allow uploading a revised edit of this video, but I hope that what I have to share here is helpful!
