    Finally, a video that treats the watchers as people who are trying to learn how to do it! Thank you! 💯
    My only issue is that I need to use a teleprompter (which I purchased) to read the course content the client provided, and I just don't know how to do that with my webcam. If you happen to have a quick answer or direction you could point me in, I'd appreciate it. Thank you again for this video because my goodness, the others make it overwhelming.

      You’re welcome! I’m thrilled to hear that this video was helpful, so thank you for the kind note, too.
      And excellent question. The unsatisfying answer is that it likely depends on your webcam AND your teleprompter. For most webcams, they don’t really function with traditional teleprompters, but you might be able to use a computer-based tool to put it on your screen just below the webcam. (I like cueprompter.com/)
      Otherwise, traditional teleprompters work with traditional video cameras, where you mount it around the camera.
      I hope that helps, and thank you again for watching!

    Wonderful video(s). 😊 My question: How do you maintain such wonderful eye contact while staying on script? Have you trained yourself to look directly into the webcam at the top of your display monitor or do you use a center-cam that sits in the middle of your display monitor? Keep up the wonderful work!

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  10 місяців тому

      You’re welcome! Great question. It depends on which camera you’re using. For example, if you’re on a smartphone, there are inexpensive teleprompter apps. If you have a video camera, different tools and setups suit different people at different budgets. I’ll make a bookmark for a future potential Wit & Wire video, but for now, I’d recommend searching for teleprompter options on UA-cam based on the camera you’re using. I hope that helps

    So informative and great delivery Melissa! Do you have any advice or content on how best to create a short form video screen share for those of us looking to see an idea/content for a future on-line course?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Місяць тому

      Thank you! Short form videos are typically for social media (under 5 minutes) while long form videos (5+ minutes) are usually for UA-cam and online courses. So depending on which type of content you might want to create, you can still use any of the tools listed in this video, or you might just record directly on a smartphone for short-form (i.e. social media).

    Great info! So, I started using Vidyard to create course content that I'll ultimately upload to Teachable. I'm using a Macbook Pro (M1 - 14" - 2021) and using the built-in camera for PIP face video. Not concerned with the video quality for the PIP, but I am trying to get the highest quality on the screen capture video. Best I can seem to get is 720P and it's not great. Any ideas on some setting I might be missing or something else I can do to bounce up the screen cap video quality to at least 1080P?

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  Рік тому +1

      Great question! I might recommend reaching out to Vidyard’s support directly, but I have a feeling there’s either a setting in their tool OR it might work better to witch to an alternative screen recorder. They all have different capabilities. (For example, Loom can do 1080p, witandwire.com/loom). I’m just not sure if Vidyard is capable of it. I hope that helps!

      @@witandwire Thanks Melissa, I really like yr teaching style--clear speech at right tone & speed. I recorded and screen-shared on Zoom. I scotch tape my script on my desktop computer screen. I used an online teleprompter once when taping on my phone but now record on webcam I purchased. I followed your suggestions to practice so I did and it got easier with each one. I learned to pause the video, then bring in my screen share, then resume. If I make a mistake, I stop talking and then I say "quiet on the set" when I continue talking as saying that helps me when I edit, and then I continue talking. I record several lessons on one Zoom session then edit them on Movie Maker Pro, which I really like. I'm using Thinkific. When ready to upgrade, may check out Teachable or Tekmatix. What's the difference between a recording app like those recommended here and the webinar apps like Demio? I mean, they essentially look like they do the same thing. Love your tips and toolkits. Thank you!

    • @witandwire
      @witandwire  10 місяців тому

      Great question! And I’m so thrilled to hear you’ve enjoyed our resources.
      Demio is primarily for webinars, which means that you’d be either livestreaming OR delivering an on-demand webinar, viewable for a limited time (ex: 1 week). Either scenario calls for someone to submit their email address to register and watch.
      The recording software mentioned in this video is NOT intended for livestreaming. Instead, it’s for creating video files that you could then publish as course videos, UA-cam videos, or even upload as an on-demand webinar using Demio. (Demio’s video recording tool is intended for livestreaming only.) So the difference comes down to how people watch the videos. I hope that helps!
