Oye Como Va" is a song written by Latin jazz and mambo musician Tito Puente in 1963 and popularized by Santana's rendition of the song in 1970 on their album Abraxas, helping to catapult Santana into stardom with the song reaching #13 on the Billboard Top 100. The song also reached #11 on Billboard's Easy Listening survey and #32 on their R&B chart. It was inspired by Israel "Cachao" Lopez's "Chanchullo."
The title comes from the first words :
Oye como va
Mi ritmo (meaning "Listen to how my rhythm goes.")
Bueno pa' gozar
Mulata
A true legend Mr Santana. Thanks for representing my Latino people in America.
The key board brother is killing it.

Love, CARLOS SANTANA.
My son bought me a ticket for my birthday to see Santana on 08/06 at Hershey Park Stadium. I will be 64 and been listening since I was 7yrs.old. Santana is on my "bucket list". 🌹
😊💜☮️🎼🎸🙏🌈
I am now 82 in my hay day I danced in clubs, to support my family I took music for my audition but it was insufficient, they substituted Santana, Black Magic Woman, I got the job, worked in Toronto, Ottawa, London, so thank you for helping a family from becoming homeless and hungry.
Do you realise that Santana has been going now for 49 years, having started in 1964? I remember my dad saying back in the 60s and 70s that "None of these pop groups will be remembered in 30 or 40 years time." How wrong he was, and how fantastic are Santana to not only be still going, but also to still be one of the most awesome bands of all time.
And the way he rocks!

This is just a fantastic live performance. Just jamming on guitar with my 15 yr old son on drums and said play a somba - a latin beat.. and started plying this song. He said I don't know it and I said whaaaaaaat? Now he knows it damn it. Big smiles on our faces listening and watching...he plays piano too so the keyboard solo was perfect.
Santana me mantiene viva 😂❤
Love from Andalucía, Spain to Santana... doesn't matter if you can't read me.
¡Paco de Lucía y Santana...os invoco! ❤💃
Hey kids.......this is REAL music.
This song is the epitome of the 60’s sound.
50 years later and it sounds current.
With so many greats, Is it Santana and Carlos’ best of all time?
I won’t argue with anyone who says yes.
Hello Glitter

It's a track "for life" once you hear it, it stays with you for ever.
You are absolutely correct. I first heard this in 1971. Unlike anything I have ever heard. Never gets old.
We had to play it for our school concert😂
Yes. Born in 1980 and I know I'm late but I love it. I remember my parents playing it ALL the time. Santana is a legend
Amen

Best guitarist...
Greetings From Morocco
Bastilla, Tagine and Couscous.. Best food from Morocco..
As a young guitar student of the early 80's, I played along to the Abraxas album, on cassette, until it was worn the fuck out. Glad to him today live on UA-cam playing those great songs again. I still play along with great happiness. I think he may have inspired the Mars Volta just a bit.
I can feel this music in my soul. I still get goosebumps. I see all kinds of people were enjoying our Latin rhythm.
I got to hear them play this live in Seattle in 1970. We were in heaven ❤️
Martha del Castillo Damn straight!!
Kathy Burnum Do you know which year this concert was held?
@@billiperkins8587 I'm not sure. Winter of 1970-71?
I have been enjoying Latin music since the 60's. No way can you just sit. It demands you get up and dance!
I couldn't agree more....Santana is No. #1!!!!!
In 1969 I was 18, dad worked for Capitol records, every month he would come home with four concert tickets. Saw CSNY open for Santana in Atlantic City. Those were the days my friendn
This song was so huge when I was in high school. I still love it.
I love classic rock. I love Santana. These guys were a different breed. It was about making music, touching your soul. They had passion and it showed through thier pure, genuine musical abilities. You can see it, they loved what they were doing. What a gift. Amazing talents, all of them. Carlos is a genius on the guitar, no doubt about it but his group was right there with him. Amazing, just amazing. It never gets old!!!
Carlos the Guitar Man! Oye como ya 💃🏻🎼💃🏻🎼
There's nothing like Carlos for breakfast!
Carlos Santana.....other worldly performer.....Guitarist Supreme.....in any culture.....wow....
El mejor show en vivo de Santana sin formalidades ni etiquetas únicamente viviendo y sintiendo la musica con su raza mexicana
You must realize its the primal beats, it stirs our heart's emotions
LEGENDS OF OUR LIFETIMES
What Santana brought to American popular music, pretty uniquely, was a complex shifting and mixing of rhythms, leaving aside his insanely good guitar playing of course and generally tight bands with complete instrumentation. I've been lucky enough to have been around from the 60s and have seen his band several times .... truly one of the great concerts you can still catch .....
I've seen him in concert four times! Incredible everytime!!

Thank you to all musicians, you bring us such joy!!!
Esta es música de gran nivel. Felicidades Santana. Soy tu fun.
I think Carlos santana is the real life Benjamin button
Still jamming to Santana since first heard them. That had been 1971 and the group I was in, we did this tune and this was the only Hispanic tune we all knew. What was unusual was, we did this for Little Joe and Familia for their intermission. We did mostly Hard Rock. We were a band that did not shy away, which was 1/2 hour for five Spanish Group in Texas. I did not know Little Joe and some artist were in hiding and heard us, so we got these gigs, thru the drummer. Still remember gigs, as it felt like it was yesterday. Bravo Carlos and the Santana Group for giving a tune that we as 2 raza, one black, and I (a native American) did. Man those were the days when music was just as exciting as today's Concerts. We even did "Louie, Louie, Louie," by the Stories. That was the era of tunes, we as a band did back in 1971 and until we broke up. Around two years later.
Just incredible. One of my all time favorite songs. How could anyone not like this?
One of my favorite musicians,SANTANA since a little girl. Thanks to my wonderful daddy always playing Albums and records of great music back in the day. Hearing this excites me bringing back good memories.
Santana is one of the top guitarist and composer of our time.

I have been a fan of Santana for a long time!
I had the pleasure of seeing both Santana and War in concert in Germany back in the 70's. I had never heard either one of these bands. Boy was I Blown Away !!!
Que grande.... ese.. Don Carlos Santana..
He shook my hand backstage at a concert and I didn't wash that hand for two days.

Que calidad Santana, permaneces en nuestros recuerdos. Patagonia Verde .Chile.
Carlos Santana, proudly from Guadalajara Mexico!!!
I ❤️ Carlos. Gifted Musician 🎸
What other guitarist has carried their career throughout the music industry without using their voice like he has? Probably the most invited guitarist that vocalist want in their music. He is the most versatile guitarist. Still today this guy is putting on tours, 50 years after Woodstock, just to see him not sing, dance, but play the guitar. The best and most successful guitarist in my opinion. Right up there with Hendrix.
I’m rockin’ on my couch listening. Heard Tito Puente do this and before him José Feliciano do it.
Carlos is just so Passionate when he plays. As a guitarist ( that plays Santana songs in-a-band ) he is such an Inspiration for me. Love this guy, his tone and his phrasing. The Band is Smokin - too. Great Musicians all around.
I love Carlos. What a great, and so humble, band leader!!
easily on my top 10 all time greatest electric guitarists!!! that feel is UNMISTAKABLE

Saludos!!!
Santana lo mejor
One of the GOATs. I don't stray too far away from extreme metal, but when I do, I jam to Santana.
Every time I hear this song, I just wanna do nothing but dance!
