    its occurred to me after watching this back, the bakery on the supermarket was a laundrette with a cigarette machine on the wall outside.

    Heyup Rotherman, lived in Duncan St. from 76 till 79, great times good mates, mostly bikers, brothers Chris & Malc. Dobbin, Carl S. and all. Band played street party for the Silver Jubilee, started on a lorry trailer blew fuses and ended up in community centre! Yorkshire Terrier pub was our haunt .Great memories cheers.

      round about that time my haunt was Masbro and the pubs around there, my go to was either the Atlas or the Canklow too, I didn't go to brinny school we had to go to Rotherham when I was younger in 1971 as brinny was still under the west riding I think. knocked about with a kid in mid 70s name Rice and another kid called Dave Jepson became my best mate.

    That was really good but you need to do a part 2 of the Whitehill area of Brinsworth. This is just one part of Brinsworth that you have filmed but nicely done. Well done Brinny Lad 👍😉

      was you from normanville avenue behind the Atlas? we used to pal with a Gulliver from there, I'm sure there was a girl there who palled with my sister Jane.

      @@Rotherman No I’m from the Gulliver family from halfway up Whitehill Road. My sister is called Jayne. The other Gulliver family you mention from Normanville are cousins Ann Jill Paul and Keith. I have 3 sisters Jayne Verna and Jacqueline from Whitehill Road.

    I remember playing on all the the new house building sites ( those were the days). Being chased into the roof space by the night watchman, and then falling through the ceiling above him... Don't know who was more scared, us or the night watchman lol :)
    Loved the photo of the old "prefabs" and the flood.
    You are doing sterling service for Brinny and Rotherham, John. Hat tip buddy.

    • @Rotherman
      @Rotherman  Рік тому

      Hi Catherine, I've no idea about Flash Harry its what us kids used to say, I remember me dad taking me for the traditional 'short back and sides' Flash (he must have been an ex army barber you see on the old movie reels, as we all looked ready for the infantry when he'd done us) brylcreamed me hair gave me a curled quiff and I cried all the way back home. I'd have been about 8yrs old. great times.

    Nice to see where you were brought up Dallo. Getting to grips with new technology? What is your reason for doing this? are you doing it for the children or for local history?

    • @Rotherman
      @Rotherman  Рік тому

      Hi Tony thanks for your comment, when we are kids we don't appreciate nothing cos its just there, its when ya old that you do actually appreciate stuff and what you did as kids and what our parents or guardians did for us. When I travel to work I always use the motorway and just came past here a few week back as the motorway was at a standstill, so took this road on the way home. I always look up to where I lived so it just came to me I will do a memory trip, there's so much to say and see but it gets too long and people lose interest so tried to cover a little bit.
