At the end of this video whilst I was talking to Emma, my battery died (it shuts off recording but the screen is still live) so un beknown to me I gathered my stuff from the now packed shop and proceeded back on to the pavement outside to show you all the scooters that had arrived, then went on to close it like I do with my crap post video speeches, but of course you never saw this and neither did I. so I apologise for the abrupt ending.
Thanks, John, for this. Little Haven must have closed very recently as my daughter lives locally, and did like that bar! So micro, you couldn't see it!
@@ladystardust2885 my mate txt me last night to tell me it had moved across the road it's now in the Indian restaurant I don't know if that is in the vid. She also says her husband's cousin and his partner own the record shop Rob and Emma.
I called in the record and hifi shop a couple of years ago as I am into that kind of thing but was shocked at the prices. From memory £40 for Queen records that were not rare. Hifi prices were through the roof! We had just been to Curry’s and looked at a turntable there. This shop wanted more than double for a second hand one of the same model. It wasn’t even in good condition. Curry’s price was just the same as everyone else on line so wasn’t a sale price. It’s a shame really as they would have had a good customer in me if they weren’t so expensive. I know they are running a business but if they are overpriced then people will just walk away like we did. If the prices are more reasonable now and I may call again to have another look.
@@tonyjedioftheforest1364 I didn't see no prices on owt and I never asked how much things were, and tbh my marantz gear with my bowers and wikins 110's I couldn't see owt to better it, I like all yamaha stuff too but there wernt any of that stuff either. It interested me tho cos it was hifi.
Travellers is a nice pub, parkgate Inn over the road isn't bad either. The record shop must be new as that wasn't there the last time I was in the area, then again it has been a while. The China Star up the road does a nice a take away.
Hi dave I'm going to do the pubs as part of my pints in a pub series, I mentioned all that in me video but it didn't record along with all the scooters outside lol she said thst shop has been there 5 yrs now.
@@Rotherman I see and I haven't been around there in 13 years. A friend of my mine used to live nearby and we would always hit all the pubs on the street sometime reaching the star which is a fair walk. About 15 years ago the shop further up past the car place you mentioned was an adult shop if you catch my meaning. The bank closed after it was robbed I think, there's CCTV of it on youtube somewhere of them driving away. I don't know if they robbed the bank of just smashed open the ATM taking what was inside. They all got caught a short while later.
@@Rotherman Nice person that ran it. I just know the place was robbed. We used to stop in the Story Teller for a meal and drink, then hit the shops to buy bottles which we left at my friends then four of us we'd hit all the pubs in the area stopping at the Travellers on the way back before ending the lads night at my friends place. My friend lived on Greasbrough Rd.
I used to go in the travs and that other pub over the road on the corner must be over 6 or 7 years ago now don't know who as got the pubs now I remember some of the older regulars especially owd jack he used to fart a lot hope he is still alive
