I unloaded a women groceries from the cart to her car. One act of a good deed box checked. Very important to keep the proper distance by the diameter of the tungsten rod size. Right on fella.

I love your attitude! Signed on after watching this. I need to repair tears in a 1\8th" aluminum trailer fender. All of your advice will help, but the most important advice you gave was about random kindness to strangers. The bible says that in doing so some of us have unknowingly entertained angels. Whether or not you believe that is immaterial. Just God' s way of giving the same positive advice you gave. Rock on, Brother!!!

I really love your channel you always have great tips for everyone. I am a Boilermaker Rigger in the USA I think they call our trade Ironworkers. I have been lucky in the trade to weld with Stick Mig and TIG and I still get loads of value from your videos and I love the fact you won’t people to treat each other like they would like to be treated so keep up the great work. PS the art you do is bloody amazing 🇦🇺👨‍🏭🙏

Thank you. You should mention to new tig welders to look at their filler rod tip after they run a bead. It's very telling.

    Super helpful -- THANKS!
I think read somewhere that excessive TIG arc length eats up way more votage or amperage than you set on the machine? I'm new to TIG and can tell you my inverter AC/DC TIG machine went bonkers (even error coded) the few times I accidentally pulled the arc too far out. Yep, I need to practice practice practice big time. Thanks for all your great videos.

Like a lot of learners I seem to vacillate between "too close" and "too far" .. too far has been the easiest one to conquer for me, now I'm working on "too close"! Dip dippety dip dip. But now I have a guideline to keep in mind!

Roll that cup dangit! Jk. Honestly im very proficient in mig arc and not bad at tig for stainless. Got ok at aluminum, the question ive not really been able to figure was why the metal wouldn't melt, just turned red hot. I was welding with dc and was able to stick the pieces together once I switched polarity. I assumed that was the issue but recently learned I might be wrong.
