I tig weld on a daily basis , I’ve heard and seen everyone that thinks or says there welds are so slick it’ll fall off the metal lmfao , I’m a pressure welder for gas skids/ boiler openings/doors , I do fine , but I’ll say this , when I first saw this channel about 3 days ago I was like good on you man , I love people that try to share the knowledge and skills in this profession
Thank you so much for your videos!
Im 40 years old lady, who just graduated as a welder last year (coz I got bored at my previous job, staring at a screen all days, and wanted to do something with my hands - I had never ever welded before, but -hey, what else would one want to become when they grow up than a welder?! just weird it took me almost 40 years to realize that!).
Now I full time tigitigitigitigi aluminium and stainless. Extremely challenging work - but I am sooooooo determined to master this stuff and your videos are giving lot of great tips!
So really thank you so much and greeting from Finland.
I started learning on a fillet weld. After about ~6ish hours of practice I started to look up tips and found this channel. I nailed the easier exercises suprisingly just off the stuff I learned from trying to learn the fillet. Im about a month out from starting and my new biggest struggle is this job at work that's cylinder attached to a baseplate. But I can tell all I need is more hood time. Thanks for the tips and tricks man
As a TIG noob, I want to say thanks for the videos you post.
Yup...teaching myself and so glad this channel is available. Seriously helping me !
Like your methodology been in the game 50 years still enjoying it
🪙 been welding for 9 months your videos have helped me so much
I started out just getting a setup no school or anything yet but just your videos has helped me a lot thanks man
Massive thanks for you time you take to put great initiative and information about tig welding.
Thanks so very much for all your videos. The best on the web. Your desire to teach and help others really shines through!!!
Just picked up a machine to learn aluminum tig, and your videos are by far the best on UA-cam for completeness and level of detail. Your experience shines here. Cheers from Vancouver
Thanks for the help you have helped me out allot love the videos not a lot of people in south Africa knows how to weld aluminum and if they do they dont want to teach others so big thanks from as in SA
Great video. Can’t wait to see part 2. 🪙
Awesome episode. Thank you Dusty!🪙
Awesome videos. Thinking about taking your online class. I'm determined to master TIG but for now it's kicking my ass. Also I love your positive message. Some welding forums become genitalia measuring contests. Stay humble and kind my friend. It's very refreshing.
Stick with it! It’s a ton of fun, and I’m trying to create a place for people who are positive, and want to hang out. I’m also going to be having a forum started on my website at some point, so expect the same stuff from there :-) I really appreciate you watching!🪙🪙
I was especially pleased with your comment, suggestions and rig for helping to make the hands comfortable.

Thanks Dusty. Enjoy all of your videos. Been watching from the beginning. 🥈🥈🥈
🪙I have been welding since the 70's started out working in the design shop at Hooker Headers. Since that time my welding has been mostly as a hobby welder. I have not received any formal training and your videos have gone a long way to help me improve my welding skills. You can't be a decent welder unless you understand what is going on, thanks for spreading more light in that area.
Enjoying you teaching very much. Thanks for the effort on your part to do these.
Love it!
Purchasing my first TIG welder this month and am snagging all of the info I can!
🪙🪙🪙
Thanks for your honest advice
🪙 I’m about to start a welding course and I’ve been watching all your tips bro and I’m very grateful for all your tips and info to help me get started. Your videos are detailed and very easy to examine and I know that’s the hardest to film, I appreciate the work you put in. Thanks Dusty
Thank you for sharing these videos! 🪙 Very helpful
Thanks a lot for your tutorials, Dusty!
You have teached me a lot, its kind of crazy how complicated welding can be😂
Absolutely my friend, thank you so much for watching and happy to help🪙🪙
It's kind of like learning to ride a unicycle and juggling at the same time.
Yes! These pros make it look easy, but the reality is it takes lots of practice, trial and error!
The one to follow, Dusty u da best !!!
Right on, fillets are absolutely my Achilles heel. 🪙x10.
I feel you! They were a tough one for me too, I hopefully can help some people out :-) I appreciate you watching🪙🪙
Nice video
Dusty the GREAT!! Nice one !!!
Always supporting your videos they are such an inspiration. ×10
just started welding school, thanks man.
Thanks for this! Looking forward to the second episode! 🪙
Thank you for all you do for all of us! All the best, Andrew @BranchAndFoundry
Received my regulator yesterday. I get argon on Monday. Can't wait to start my first bead.
Joe, how did it go?
@@martinwhite418 So far it is a bit of a struggle. I will keep on keeping on until I feel competent.
Love the alex grey artwork subbed and learning welding tig soon
Thanks for the videos Dusty really enjoy and appricate them. 🪙
🪙🪙 love the channel and content. Picked TIG back up after quite the frustrating first go and thanks to you I’m loving it finally, and already making some 💵 with it. Thanks!!
You went from not really knowing how to do it, to charging money in 3 months?
I hope you're welds are structurally sound.
@@dangerous8333 art/craft pieces… but I seriously appreciate your concern and time taken to leave this constructive comment
Awesome info... Ya teaching me good!

🪙 Thank you for all that you do Dusty!

Thanks Dusty LARRYMOORE
Thank YOU Larry!
Good and need advice. Thank you
Amazing tips thank you 😊
Thank you so much for watching🙏
I found 2f easier than 1f. All just preference. Best to find out what you like most! Great video
No dimes here. great tips! I like all your vids!
Come sempre, grazie Polveroso
I am going to try using a taller table such as I noticed that you use. Thanks again for the advice. Peace
🪙 Been Tig welding for 12 months now and have managed to avoid fillets all that time. Might try again soon though. Thanks for the vid, Dusty.
🪙
Thanks man!!
I really appreciate your continued.
Do I see a Dillinger Esc Plan ball cap on the shelf there? Love to turn up some of their stuff on the earbuds while i'm under the hood! Love your vids Dusty, the attention to details are appreciated.
🪙 these are the only dimes I can produce! 😂 I suck, but I’m having fun learning! Thanks for the great content and positive videos!
I like those black gloves, where did u buy em?
Hey bro. I just wanna thank you for the hints, Putting my filler in a certain angle from my tungsten. I instantly felt the difference how easy filling my weld up is withouth dipping my tungsten. Also slowing it down and getting a even weld going. Its just funny to me how 3 simple tricks improved my welds so much.
📀
Why would that be funny?
You mean to tell me learning new methods (three of them in fact) improved your welds?
Shocking.
Was wondering if you use a peddle or a button? Thanks for your help man
🪙 only one I could find. Good thing there is not an emoji for pocket lint. Great vid like always.
I’d pay a 🪙 to get part two sooner!!!
🔘. Closest I could find to a dime lol. . Great vid!!👍👍
Great content!👍👍
🪙 Great video. Thankyou.
Ding... That's me dropping a dime
💰... this is better than a dime
Can you cover steel lap joints? I have a very hard time with those.
🪙 Love the channel!
Thank you so much my friend! I really appreciate you watching!🤙🔥
🪙 great video dusty looking forward to part 2 and now I have some never things to try out when I am next at work
Great videos. Thanks 🪙
🪙 I appreciate your content.
Great tips Dusty..thx gunna give them a shot..dont see any dime emojis but count me in!
I tried this in class and my instructor said "that's actually a flat weld." 😂. It makes sense though because fillet welds at 90 degrees are hard to do
.
love it
I'm asking because I want to learn, not trolling. At 2:50 it looks (to me) like the puddle is sitting on top of the corner, not getting down into the root at all let alone penetrating. Again, I know nothing, so I'm likely missing something. Please educate me, thank you!
Dusty, followed your tips in my shop today. Angle fixture worked great. With AL, I've always had a hard time getting the fillet pool started. The arc jumps around a lot, cleaning takes a long time, the pool never forms near the joint, etc. Any tips to try? I'll look around your videos for your experienced wisdom. Thanks for the video and the tips.
🪙 fillets were never were I struggled outside corners are where I struggled and struggled .... keep it up dusty even as a veteran love ya vids there's always something you can learn or pick up on .. and as they say there's often more than one way to skin a cat 😜
💎💎💎💎💎 We dont lay dimes we lay diamonds.
hello dusty .. you have to put a translation and it will surely increase your visualization because you are very good and there are many people who would like to understand you greetings from SPAIN😎😎
How did I miss this one? I been welding for a long time and ya know I watch just cause I love your channel. I'm definitely an arc head.🪙💲 my shop is just like your studio. Live it love it.
🪙 I'm on T-joint tig, 6 bead minimum and I'm going to take your advise and put it on a 45 degree angle I'll let you know how it went Monday 7/17/23
💎
🕳, thanks for the tips. They do help me
dime baby!
I’m not a welder but I’m a curious type so I have a question that perhaps someone here will answer. When making a pass and reaching a tack weld, do you simply jump over the tack and keep going or are you making the tack molten again and blending it into the pass your making? And is this the reason why it’s so important to make the tack welds symmetrical?
Thanks for any answers 🙏🏻
Really enjoying this channel btw
I tend to go over the tack at a slightly faster rate than before or after. This way, I don't deposit as much on top of the tack, and don't disturb the tack's integrity. If done correctly, you can't tell where the tack was.
You go over it and blend it in.
@@waynegroves6922 What would you be depositing on the top if you aren't adding filler material? Which you shouldn't need too if you're going over a tack and the tack was done properly. Also not sure how you're affecting the integrity unless you're blowing a hole through it.
I go over my tacks at the same speed I'm welding.
🥇
Thanks for watching 🪙🪙
💰 this is the closest thing to a dime I could find.
Canadian aye 👌
Thanks. Good vid. Hammer it. You know what I mean.
Couldn't find the dime emoji either. LOL How's this? 💰 Thanks for what you do!
Cheers my friend! I appreciate you watching🪙🪙
Are you left handed? I am right handed, but i think i need more dexterity feeding rod, which i believe, early in my journey is the limiting factor right now for good looking welds.
💰 Dime Bag.
Ive been stuck on fillet for 8 days 6 hour days and I'm possibly going to fail my welding course because I have no consistency
Did you pass?
Dropping a dime! 🪙
I just started to learn TIG welding my instructors are right handed and I’m left handed so everything is backwards. It’s hard to figure out a proper position I’m comfortable doing.
Thanks , x10.
💍 No dimes, but here's Diamond. Keep it up
😊
Hey man! I've been welding for 3 years now. Found your channel a little less than a year ago. Your artwork attracted me. I rarely watch welding how-to videos anymore. I learned how to TIG weld from the fabrication series and Jody from welding tips and tricks. I really only watched the basics and the rest was self taught. I like using logic and common sense to teach myself something and THEN watch videos and read to see if I did it right. It's kind of a personal challenge I always give myself when learning something new. That's why I love your how-to videos! You're such a master at your craft I hold your methods and perspectives in higher regard that I might others. So when I see a video like this and realize I've been doing everything right, I'm stoked!
💰 Couldn't find a dime lol.
Love all ya vids bro taught me a lot chill an fill one of the best 🕳🕳🕳🕳
👍👍👍👍👍👍
💰
I appreciate it 🪙🪙
💰
im on a laptop so i cant/dont know how to do do emojis
