I have the s812 and me and my friends are amazed with the quality of the bass this sub can produce. It's a big sub, but when is well tuned with speakers, it can fully bland in and integrate!! At the beginning I was very sceptical of a need to have a subwoofer in a stereo, but now I can't imagine listening to music without one.
We are glad to hear that you are enjoying the performance of your S/812 subwoofer! If you have any questions or concerns about your REL then feel free to let us know and we will be happy to assist.
George out looking sub. I can’t imagine what kind of income it takes to be able to invest $45,000 in six of these monsters. Sure would love to hear a setup with six of them.
Either a business executive or owner or a surgeon. Maybe a lawyer. Even some IT jobs like cloud solutions architect or experienced devops can. Just don’t waste money on a fancy bmw and get this instead
Those are some serious upgrades to your system! We hope that you love the performance of the stereo No.25s, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about them.
You can use our dealer locator here rel.net/dealers/ and search in your area for a dealer that has reference series listed under the subwoofer families they stock. You might want to call first to double check especially if its a long drive.
When complementing a No 25 with your speakers what are the key specifications of the main speakers that you are looking at? Assuming a 28x20x8.5 room size.
The size of the listening room plays a part, though typically we recommend the No.25 when a customer is using fairly large speakers that are very detailed and resolving in their output. For more information on if the No.25 is the right choice for your system, feel free to write in to contactus@rel.net and we will be happy to help.
@@RELAcoustics thanks I really mean actually getting them into the correct position when you put one on top of another whiteout maybe scratching the top of the bottom one by moving the second sub a little bit, so I was thinking of a slot like how you stack Chord Electronics. Though maybe if you only bought one maybe it wouldn’t look so good with a slot.
For a subwoofer line array setup, each subwoofer will need to be manually tuned on their own, with final tuning adjustments being made after each individual unit sounds good and blends well on it's own.
Hi John other than the filters in the no 25, is there a difference in the new carbon special be the number 25? Which of the two is better for home theatre vs music? Since the carbon special came later is there newer technology in there that the no 25? If yes will the no 25 be upgraded to include newer technologies?
The Carbon Special was developed and launched more recently, though for both 2-channel music and home theater applications the No.25 is the higher performing subwoofer. The No.25 features a larger driver, more amplifier volume, and an advanced filter design which results in performance that is faster, more dynamic, and able to reach deeper than any of our other subwoofer models.
Yes. Well, actually using 6 of these to make stereo line arrays is the best we have to offer. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, we’re always happy to help with subwoofer recommendations or tuning help. You can reply here or email us at contactus@rel.net.
@@RELAcoustics I current have a pair of rel25 and considering for line array stacks. I’ve heard John was going write a “how to tune a line array stacks” blog. Im wondering if it’s available?

I got a velodyne hgs 15 way back it's as useful as a chocolate teapot my neighbour has a sub I would call midrange and lasted longer than mine which costed 4 times as much. I will never part my cash on these overblown budget electronics I've learnt my lesson.

Technically I guess you could call it a sales pitch. The main goal of this piece is to share the purpose of this subwoofer's design and some of its features with our audience and who knows that better than the chief designer.
The title literally says overview 🤦♂️😮💨 and I thought some subs were slow when listening to music but this guy just may be slower. I GOT IT!!!! maybe we should install a REL filter board to speed up his brain 🤔😂😂

Love my Rel 1508! I can't imagine how great the 25 sounds.
any issues with it making a buzzing noise?
@@KPAki1Ler No, not at all.
@@bdougwrx thanks for your reply, I read an owners thread the odd one had that issue.
A REL N0.25.. A DD18+.. A Paradigm Sub 2 and a SVS SB16 Ultra... Sub heaven!

riikerman not all subs are equal, yes the REL is expensive but so is a Ferrari compared to a Ford.
@riikerman u gotta be the dumbest person ever to compare in that way
REL No.25 The best subwoofer in the world!
Amazing piece of art
I got into rel with the t9/I but when I’m more established in my career I’ll be getting 4 or 6 of these
How is the T9/i? I just ordered one. For a flagship, it seems so under powered with 300 watts, but everyone raves about it.
Very nice piece of musical art! As a JL Audio lover also a lot of love for Rel. The 1508 Predator is also one of my favorites sinds today.
I started with 2x T9i then 2x Carbon Special, and now ordered 2x no. 25 on the way to me in july, I can’t wait to hear that...

I was wondering does the top have slots for staking so they just slot in? As I would imagine the weight and trying to line it up would be hard?
No, since they weigh about 200 lbs each they are stable when stacked without needing anything to help hold it together.

The configuration of the Line Array is automatic or have to be done manually on each sub?

It’s not review
It’s sales pitch

The title is "REL Acoustics No. 25 Overview". It does not say "review".
Why you gotta be a dick? It is an overview - but what if it WAS a sales pitch?
Yep definitely a sales pitch, but that is his job.
