Had a nice walk to evaluate the two manual focus lenses, Neewer 25mm and the Meike 50mm. Obviously they are not as sharp as more expensive lenses and I was not really happy with the location, however, sometimes you have to make do with what you have locally. On this occasion it was more about the lenses than the compositions. To see more with these lenses follow the playlist links. It's super fun to use old lenses in manual mode totally different style of shooting, I have just one Helios 44m2 and because you have to play with all the focus and everything final good picture feels much more rewarding then fully automatic lenses we have now also some lenses have a unique oldschool look so they are not so clinicaly perfect sharp as the new one
That was great Dave and some lovely photos of the lilies. Great capture of the heron too 👌 I noticed you’ve either bought a drone that follows you or you had an able assistant 😁👍
Thanks Phil, yes I purchased the HoverAir X1. I thinks it’s excellent, that was my first outing with it. I thought I’d be better with that rather than one I have to fly, I don’t think I’d fly one as good as you do, I’d be worried about crashing it. 📷👍😁
Hi Dave! Shots looks fine with those manual lenses. Yeah, a bit finicky compare to using auto but i think gives you more control and creativity. I particularly like the lily shot and trio trees. Noticed you brought a cameraman with you.
Personally I would still prefer the cheap 50mm purely for the fun factor. 50mm on a crop sensor is the equivalent of a 80mm on a full frame, whereas a 50mm with a speed booster is the equivalent of a 35mm on a full frame. Kind regards David

The Heron you captured taking flight David was great, especially as you were in manual and caught on the hop. Love it.
Thanks so much for watching and your comment, it’s really appreciated. Kind regards David 😀📷👍
The shots of the Herrin turned out very nice.
Thank you 📷👍
Very enjoyable video David, the Lakes are really scenic and loved your shots of the Heron and waterlilies in the lake 😊

What do you prefer, a cheap 50mm lens or Canon EF 50mm + SpeedBooster?
