It had the same problem with Iron Man. Both series had a somewhat silly and goofy first season, but both really improved the stories and animation in the second season.
Ah childhood memories. I actually have a Thing action figure still in the box that was modeled from this show. It hangs on my wall with the rest of my collectables. Also I just realized the guy that did Galactus's voice also did the elder God from Soul Reaver
Always great to meet another hardcore FF fan!!! I only acknowledge the second season :) so I like your kindness. This cartoon was one of many that were caught in the mid-1990s weekend first-run syndication ghetto (it's what happened to "Phantom 2040" and the weekday Disney Afternoon "Gargoyles," etc.) while KidsWB and Fox Kids duked it out in those pre-Pokemon days!!!
I grew up watching this in early 2000s in India and I was addicted to this series. Just as I was addicted to Spiderman 94 and X-Men 94 series which i watched them during the same time. Hey isn't that the Fantastic four series that came out in the 1960's? I would agree also that being a great series. That has a great 1960's comic book feel to it.😀

The 90's version is the best version to date. Come to think of it, 99% of all the animated series from the 90's are the greatest. These animated series paired with the Toy Biz production line of Marvel action figures, made Saturday mornings epic. I remember when they did the back to back Marvel hour with Stan Lee as the host. You would get an two episode of Ironman, FF, or the Hulk. You could always tell if you were getting a newer episode or an older one, just by the intro theme songs and or the music used for Stan Lee. They would show it on Sunday's around 11am. This was because church would get out around 10am, and Saturday's were already showing Spider-Man, X-Men, and Ironman (pending on the lineup) from Marvel. This cartoon was my childhood, it was on replay in Norway in the early 2000's and I loved that shit so much along with the Spiderman cartoon.

The episode where the Fantastic Four lost their powers didn't involve the Frightful Four, it was Doctor Doom's plan / bomb that caused the loss
