-4-6 Sara Brews -15-16 Super restores -4 ranging pots I was 80 range and I beat JAD doing this set up. It took me three tries. Healers: hit 1 at a time and always LOOK at JAD's animation. Did it while breathing slowly and got my first FIRECAPE since 2009!!!
This is a verry good tutorial. I reccomend (blowpipe/Karil crossbow) Using Verac Helm , Karil body & skirt , Ava device, Furry ammy and blessed Dhide boots (archer ring/e). Ive done many fire cape with that set so easily. I now use Anguish instead of fury , im not sure wich one is truly better... but everyone will say offence is allwais better in Runescape
took me like 10 tries cause am a noob but finally got the cape with the help of this video.I found only Jad to be hard. The 63 rounds before him arent bad especially with prayer over 80 and italy rock. lit tid bit cause it helps someone, I found it easier to kill the healers first then focus Jad and also to bring a couple pieces of food with instead of saradomin brews for the boss because it was easier for me to recover if I got hit having only to click once for 22hp instead of 13hp. thanks so much for the video. cant wait to train in my fancy new cape. childhood me is losing it

What pisses me off is that I aggro the healers and killed them from a safe spot at Italy rock, but when it was 1v1 again with Jad, he spawned 4 more healers... is this normal? I ended up dying btw and still haven’t got my fire cape after 6 attempts.
Idk if this is too late or not, but yea that's normal. I'd recommend to not kill healers. Just agro them and tank them and then just focus on Jad. They don't do much damage if you're wearing the gear he recommends in this video and have a defense boost from a brew or bastion pot.
ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!: 800 Scales is not enough to complete fight caves anymore. You will hit a lot more 0's since the blowpipe nerf. I learned this the hard way. I have 91 range and used Addy darts. I went in with about 2,000 scales and by wave 44 I only had 471 left. I teleported out because I calculated that on average it would have taken me too many scales on the magers than I had (maybe I could have poison ticked, but it felt like a waste of time). I suggest going in with 2000 Rune darts and 5k scales. That might be an over estimate, but it's a lot better than coming up short. >:(

Got to wave 62 attempt first try. Died to Jad within 15secs cause I absolutely freaked out over prayer switching. That's a hour and twenty minutes of my life I'm never getting back......
DO NOT bring at least 800 scales like the guide says, bring like 3k just in case. I had to suicide on wave 50 because i only brought 1200 thinking i was safe
So I'm not the only one. I am doing the cave atm. Brought 800 scales but ran out at wave 40 or so. I am now doing the rest with adamant darts. Currently at wave 50 but don't think I'll make it :D

Just want to say thank you for making this guide. The simplicity in which you explained everything was very helpful. I managed to defeat Jad and get the fire cape today after 2 failed attempts against Jad. For anyone struggling, don't give up. It's just a matter of practice and keeping calm. I would recommend you bring more than 800 scales because I brought 1500 and ran out at wave 55. 2000-2500 would be sufficient. Also, adamant darts are good enough if you want to save on cost. Good luck to all!
Fight caves seemed like an impossibly fair off thing, but with your low requirements and simple gear, plus amazing explanations, you really helped inspire me. I'm still not at that point yet, but you certainly changed my mindset on it being practically unreachable for me.
Just got my fire cape on my first ever attempt at fight caves thanks to this video! I always figured it would be too difficult for me, but your detailed explanations gave me the confidence to beat Jad. Got a little squirrely when the healers came out so i misclicked and got hit by Jad but was able to tank it. The last minute of the fight had my heartrate through the roof lol trying to watch Jad's animations, healing, and making sure the healers didn't stack me out.
Finally did it after watching your guide and 4 attempts. This is an amazing video and such a great achievement doing it! Stayed calm for the last one. One Tip I suggest: Use longrange if youre using Blowpipe, it helps grabbing the healer and staying away from Jad!
I don't normally like/comment, but this video was incredibly informative compared to most other videos. Other videos become complex within seconds watching it, but this was so informative on just the basics, which is all that is needed, that I was able to complete it first try. Appreciate the advice and tips. Liked for sure.
i just got my first fire cape ever, and i've played for years starting back in 2007. after watching this video end to end, i got a pretty good understanding of the fight. while referencing the wave sheet you had and remembering tips that you gave, i wound up getting the cape on my second attempt!!! i'm so happy and this guide helped me out a ton. thank you for making this great vid!!
everyone like "oh so easy. only 1 try." or "got it on my second attempt." i remember 3-4 years ago is the last time i quit playing osrs bc i could not kill jad. got to him every time. fucked up the prayer and died. ive tried him at least... 8 maybe 9 times. 85range 82def 80prayer. always use dragon darts. i just fucking suck. fuck this shit
literally got to jad with this guide and i mucked it up on jad himself, ended up being a lot to watch for me. dunno if i will make my way back in there for a while, losing that close to the end is really discouraging.
I get it man, it took me like 4 tries to get it, and I made it to Jad multiple times.... we don't talk about the try that I died to a mager, that never happened. It was so depressing reaching Jad, getting him low and panic switching prayer, but I actually ran into a person outside on my second last attempt that was also struggling. You aren't alone man, and you aren't awful at the game. You just gotta keep your nerves in check, but everyone who is trying new content is struggling, because you get excited, your adrenaline spikes, your hands shake, you're mind is playing tricks on you. Breathe, stay calm, don't let your excitement win! Ignore that you're actually about to win, and focus on the moment, you'll have lots of time to lose your mind after that cape is on your shoulders :) Good luck bro

I opted to work on some other skills primarily strength (currently 96 trying to get to 99), I also wanted to raise my range level to something like 80+ before diving back in there just to make it easier on myself
Yes, its discouraging but somehow when I died to jad the first time I got so frutrated with myself for messing up something so simple that i went and bought supply for a 2nd try right aaway and got it out of frustration lol

Thank you for this guide. I’ve tried it three times, failing twice, and succeeding the third attempt with a Jad task + slayer helmet. The healers fully respawned THREE TIMES but after killing them a fourth time and running perilously low on super restores for prayer, I did it! Got my fire cape. I have exactly ZERO desire to do that again.
I had 1800 scales and 2000 darts, during the 2nd part of my fight with Jad I ran out of scales and had to continue with throwing the darts by hand. Unloading my blowpipe and equipping the darts whilst tanking 4 healers sure made my heart rate go up. Time to kill was 77 minutes. Thanks a lot for your guide, first try fire cape with your exact set-up minus archers ring.
I think this is due to the bp nerf, I had a similar problem. So we definitely need more than the recommended amount of darts. Not Josh's mistake though, this guide was made before that update
@@corneliahanimann2173 Yup, you should also use amethyst darts instead of addy darts. It will make a significant difference in the time it takes you to kill all of the mobs and jad :).
@@prodluiho I already have one, but a friend did it for me, so I did it now on Leagues, and feel like I can do it on the main too, but I also feel like I've underestimated the damage the healers can do. I thought I could tank them, and even on leagues with maxxed defense and absolute unit on, they were hurting me, but I also went in there with a magic crossbow and adamantite arrows, so I took my time...I just want to do the firecape again so I've done it for myself too basically. Does Josh have a video on the inferno btw? I thought he used to have one but maybe I just saw a video of another english creator...I'm starting to get a superiority complex and curious about the infernal cape after one boosted Jad kill lol.

The biggest thing to remember for me was to keep calm, and keep everything I learned here in mind. Can't say enough praise, so I will leave it at a simple thank you again.
Got my first firecape Saturday, thanks! Used blessed d'hide, Barrows gloves, blowpipe + rune darts, a fury, rada's blessing 2 and a Neitiznot's helmet. Took 64 minutes at 84 range. My advice would be to bring less Sara brews and more bastion potion, it makes the fight quicker and easier.

Fantastic guide! I died my first try due to my failure to switch from Missile to magic and got two shotted by a mager no joke wave 30 TURN ON PROTECT FROM MAGIC lol
I remember playing this back when a rune c Bow and diamond e bolts were a go too and bastion potions didn't exist. I used boiled sweets also. Got it to like 25% health with a friend helping, then the dial up internet went and lagged me out just long enough to get killed. Now, 11 years later, I am here for my revenge.
I just finished getting my fire cape. Had to do it twice and these things confused me the first time: -Healers don't spawn directly under the Jad, they came from middle of the map. -Healers also aren't low HP, to just click on one after another fast. They have at least 30, and it will take a little time to kill them. -It's good idea to switch camera view more horizontally, so you can see jad's movement(how he raises legs) easier as oppose to watching it from full bird's view which i used for the rest of the run So main thing is, everything else is easy, until comes the jad phase. Even that is not hard, if you know what to expect. Your main and only focus should be Switching prayer. When healers come, all you gotta do is tap one by one to get them to be agressive towards you and not heal Jad. 1 tap on healer-Prayer Switch-1tap on healer-Prayer Switch.... They aren't strong enough to kill you. At least they didn't kill me... 86 hp. Also, since the waiting till boss part is harder than anything else, i took 3 divine ranging potions instead of that expensive bastian potion my 2nd run. I was left with 4-5 sara brews and 4-5 super restores after the end of 1st run. Even 3 divine ranging potions are just enough to use them the whole run. Full run about 1 hour and a little more. But otherwise, excellent guide. Would have take me more than 2 tries without it. Thank you! :)
Thanks for the amazing guide man. It helped me get it in 2 tries. If I may give two additions to this guide: - Take way more darts & scales: I had about 2k darts & 3k scales, this was plenty and didn't have me worry during the fight - The healers at the end can respawn if they manage to heal Jad to full hp. This threw me off the first time I tried it. So I would recommend tanking them as well. Anyway, I'm part of the fire cape club now, cheers!

My main issue is "Jad Hands" I know everything, I can do it but when it comes to Jad its the pressure of if i fail i have to go through the long process again. I think the way you switch prayers will be a very helpful approach for when i next attempt him.
it may sound stupid, but the way i was able to get past my jad hands and get my cape was to convince myself that either i didnt need the cape or that it wasn't worth it. you don't necessarily need to do that, but on my final fire cape run where i actually killed jad, i had gone in with the thought that it was "only for a joke" i think the best way to go about getting your first fire cape is to take the caves seriously enough to get through the caves with supplies and try not to die, but also to keep in mind that, at least for the time being, it doesn't matter if you die like i said its a weird sounding and almost counter-intuitive strategy for beating jad anxiety, but it worked for me!! good luck, keep at it, you can do it!

Fantastic Guide! I was able to get the fire cape in 66 mins. Thank you 5/5!! Side Note: I'm 90 range and I brought 1,500 scales with me. I managed to kill Jad with only 21 scales remaining. I would highly recommend bringing 2,000 with you!
@@clipdump I did it on leagues once, but not on my main. I think I'm.able to do it. Maybe it's a dumb saying, but I think that I had been at this place with Jad 3 times before caused me to actually pay attention and get through. I'll do it on my main
@@corneliahanimann2173 i faced the big boy my first time today and tried a couple more times but failed. i think the most annoying thing is the first 50 ish waves are boring and long, and also expensive with the blowpipe. I wish i played leagues now because it was a great opportunity to try out boss content. The shittiest thing is i definitely have the stats, like 97 range and some decent gear and whatnot. its just the fight, and also maybe my internet makes the prayer part a bit difficult too
@@clipdump yea its really thaz you invest an hour to get to Jad, that makes me dread the grind... Jad himself isn't as bad once you get over the panicking phase, and you do have to get through that phase too
Before wave 61 ends, make sure you are in the middle of the map so you can see exactly where the orange mager spawns. If you are not in the middle of the map, the orange mager may end up moving to get within magic range of you. This screwed me over on my first attempt; I killed the orange and then was all "wait a minute, where's Jad?"
Well made guide, but sheesh, I'd have used another clip for the Jad section. You were chanced twice while aggroing the healers and only survived the second hit because your HP regenerated just before the attack hit you.

I just got back into OSRS and I’m sitting here with 60 Att level like I’m about to try and run this lol. I feel like if I watch this a bunch of times then the day I am ready to try this, I might be able to do it my first try.
I know this guide is 3 years old now but I just wanted to drop by and thank you for helping me get my first fire cape, it took me 8 tries but I did it and I feel amazing! One other thing that really helped me out in the Jad fight itself was verbally calling out what prayer I needed to use so I didn’t get flustered when the healers came out.
I grabbed all four healers like you said and got randomly slammed for 40 as all four of them got a 10 hit on me in like 3 seconds. My luck is such shit
dude i love you, got my fire cape on my 3rd try! btw as people already said, 800 scales is not enough, bring 3k for safety. I found easier to turn on auto retaliate on jad, aggro all healers on me and focus 100% on my potions and prayer while auto retaliate deals with the healers, after they are dead it is way easy to kill jad without a bunch o things happening on your screen, also switched stamina for another bastion for faster clear of waves 31-63 to preserve prayer

For neck if you have 70 pray you can wear dragon bone necklace
Gives 12 pray and basically same stats as fury

ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!: 800 Scales is not enough to complete fight caves anymore. You will hit a lot more 0's since the blowpipe nerf. I learned this the hard way. I have 91 range and used Addy darts. I went in with about 2,000 scales and by wave 44 I only had 471 left. I teleported out because I calculated that on average it would have taken me too many scales on the magers than I had (maybe I could have poison ticked, but it felt like a waste of time). I suggest going in with 2000 Rune darts and 5k scales. That might be an over estimate, but it's a lot better than coming up short. >:(
Would the bowfa be a better idea?
I took 3k scales in at 75 range and came out with 800 scales left and a fire cape. I’d say 3k is the sweet spot. 3.5 if you want to be safe.

Just want to say thank you for making this guide. The simplicity in which you explained everything was very helpful. I managed to defeat Jad and get the fire cape today after 2 failed attempts against Jad.
For anyone struggling, don't give up. It's just a matter of practice and keeping calm. I would recommend you bring more than 800 scales because I brought 1500 and ran out at wave 55. 2000-2500 would be sufficient. Also, adamant darts are good enough if you want to save on cost. Good luck to all!

Just got my fire cape on my first ever attempt at fight caves thanks to this video! I always figured it would be too difficult for me, but your detailed explanations gave me the confidence to beat Jad. Got a little squirrely when the healers came out so i misclicked and got hit by Jad but was able to tank it. The last minute of the fight had my heartrate through the roof lol trying to watch Jad's animations, healing, and making sure the healers didn't stack me out.

Finally did it after watching your guide and 4 attempts. This is an amazing video and such a great achievement doing it! Stayed calm for the last one. One Tip I suggest: Use longrange if youre using Blowpipe, it helps grabbing the healer and staying away from Jad!
I don't normally like/comment, but this video was incredibly informative compared to most other videos. Other videos become complex within seconds watching it, but this was so informative on just the basics, which is all that is needed, that I was able to complete it first try. i just got my first fire cape ever, and i've played for years starting back in 2007. after watching this video end to end, i got a pretty good understanding of the fight. while referencing the wave sheet you had and remembering tips that you gave, i wound up getting the cape on my second attempt!!! i'm so happy and this guide helped me out a ton. thank you for making this great vid!!

I get it man, it took me like 4 tries to get it, and I made it to Jad multiple times.... we don't talk about the try that I died to a mager, that never happened.
It was so depressing reaching Jad, getting him low and panic switching prayer, but I actually ran into a person outside on my second last attempt that was also struggling. You aren't alone man, and you aren't awful at the game. You just gotta keep your nerves in check, but everyone who is trying new content is struggling, because you get excited, your adrenaline spikes, your hands shake, you're mind is playing tricks on you. Breathe, stay calm, don't let your excitement win! Ignore that you're actually about to win, and focus on the moment, you'll have lots of time to lose your mind after that cape is on your shoulders :) Good luck bro

I opted to work on some other skills primarily strength (currently 96 trying to get to 99), I also wanted to raise my range level to something like 80+ before diving back in there just to make it easier on myself

Thank you for this guide. I’ve tried it three times, failing twice, and succeeding the third attempt with a Jad task + slayer helmet. The healers fully respawned THREE TIMES but after killing them a fourth time and running perilously low on super restores for prayer, I did it! Got my fire cape. I have exactly ZERO desire to do that again.
I had 1800 scales and 2000 darts, during the 2nd part of my fight with Jad I ran out of scales and had to continue with throwing the darts by hand. Unloading my blowpipe and equipping the darts whilst tanking 4 healers sure made my heart rate go up. Time to kill was 77 minutes. Thanks a lot for your guide, first try fire cape with your exact set-up minus archers ring.
I think this is due to the bp nerf, I had a similar problem.
So we definitely need more than the recommended amount of darts. Not Josh's mistake though, this guide was made before that update
@@corneliahanimann2173 Yup, you should also use amethyst darts instead of addy darts. It will make a significant difference in the time it takes you to kill all of the mobs and jad :).

@@prodluiho I already have one, but a friend did it for me, so I did it now on Leagues, and feel like I can do it on the main too, but I also feel like I've underestimated the damage the healers can do.
I thought I could tank them, and even on leagues with maxxed defense and absolute unit on, they were hurting me, but I also went in there with a magic crossbow and adamantite arrows, so I took my time...I just want to do the firecape again so I've done it for myself too basically. Does Josh have a video on the inferno btw? I thought he used to have one but maybe I just saw a video of another english creator...I'm starting to get a superiority complex and curious about the infernal cape after one boosted Jad kill lol.

Got my first firecape Saturday, thanks! Used blessed d'hide, Barrows gloves, blowpipe + rune darts, a fury, rada's blessing 2 and a Neitiznot's helmet. Took 64 minutes at 84 range.
My advice would be to bring less Sara brews and more bastion potion, it makes the fight quicker and easier.

I remember playing this back when a rune c Bow and diamond e bolts were a go too and bastion potions didn't exist. I used boiled sweets also. Got it to like 25% health with a friend helping, then the dial up internet went and lagged me out just long enough to get killed. Now, 11 years later, I am here for my revenge.

I just finished getting my fire cape.
Had to do it twice and these things confused me the first time:
-Healers don't spawn directly under the Jad, they came from middle of the map.
-Healers also aren't low HP, to just click on one after another fast. They have at least 30, and it will take a little time to kill them.
-It's good idea to switch camera view more horizontally, so you can see jad's movement(how he raises legs) easier as oppose
to watching it from full bird's view which i used for the rest of the run
So main thing is, everything else is easy, until comes the jad phase. Even that is not hard, if you know what to expect.
Your main and only focus should be Switching prayer. When healers come, all you gotta do is tap one by one to get them to be
agressive towards you and not heal Jad. 1 tap on healer-Prayer Switch-1tap on healer-Prayer Switch....
They aren't strong enough to kill you. At least they didn't kill me... 86 hp.
Also, since the waiting till boss part is harder than anything else, i took 3 divine ranging potions instead of that expensive bastian potion my 2nd run.
I was left with 4-5 sara brews and 4-5 super restores after the end of 1st run. Even 3 divine ranging potions are just enough to use them the whole run.
Full run about 1 hour and a little more.
But otherwise, excellent guide. Would have take me more than 2 tries without it. Thank you! :)

If I may give two additions to this guide:
- Take way more darts & scales: I had about 2k darts & 3k scales, this was plenty and didn't have me worry during the fight
- The healers at the end can respawn if they manage to heal Jad to full hp. This threw me off the first time I tried it. So I would recommend tanking them as well.

Turning NPC 'attack' options to "left-click where available really helps with Jad
My main issue is "Jad Hands" I know everything, I can do it but when it comes to Jad its the pressure of if i fail i have to go through the long process again. I think the way you switch prayers will be a very helpful approach for when i next attempt him.
it may sound stupid, but the way i was able to get past my jad hands and get my cape was to convince myself that either i didnt need the cape or that it wasn't worth it. you don't necessarily need to do that, but on my final fire cape run where i actually killed jad, i had gone in with the thought that it was "only for a joke"
i think the best way to go about getting your first fire cape is to take the caves seriously enough to get through the caves with supplies and try not to die, but also to keep in mind that, at least for the time being, it doesn't matter if you die
like i said its a weird sounding and almost counter-intuitive strategy for beating jad anxiety, but it worked for me!! good luck, keep at it, you can do it!
@@HypurrDom That makes sense, and reminds me of what my cousin used to do. To relieve anxiety he would just state "i'm going to die" (this was when he was around 12 I believe, it's been a long time)

Side Note: I'm 90 range and I brought 1,500 scales with me. I managed to kill Jad with only 21 scales remaining. I would highly recommend bringing 2,000 with you!

@@corneliahanimann2173 i faced the big boy my first time today and tried a couple more times but failed. i think the most annoying thing is the first 50 ish waves are boring and long, and also expensive with the blowpipe. I wish i played leagues now because it was a great opportunity to try out boss content. The shittiest thing is i definitely have the stats, like 97 range and some decent gear and whatnot. its just the fight, and also maybe my internet makes the prayer part a bit difficult too
@@clipdump yea its really thaz you invest an hour to get to Jad, that makes me dread the grind... Jad himself isn't as bad once you get over the panicking phase, and you do have to get through that phase too

Before wave 61 ends, make sure you are in the middle of the map so you can see exactly where the orange mager spawns. If you are not in the middle of the map, the orange mager may end up moving to get within magic range of you. This screwed me over on my first attempt; I killed the orange and then was all "wait a minute, where's Jad?"

Well made guide, but sheesh, I'd have used another clip for the Jad section. You were chanced twice while aggroing the healers and only survived the second hit because your HP regenerated just before the attack hit you.
Super calm the whole way and then gets to Jad and i've never had so much panic

I know this guide is 3 years old now but I just wanted to drop by and thank you for helping me get my first fire cape, it took me 8 tries but I did it and I feel amazing! One other thing that really helped me out in the Jad fight itself was verbally calling out what prayer I needed to use so I didn’t get flustered when the healers came out.
I grabbed all four healers like you said and got randomly slammed for 40 as all four of them got a 10 hit on me in like 3 seconds. My luck is such shit

dude i love you, got my fire cape on my 3rd try! btw as people already said, 800 scales is not enough, bring 3k for safety. I found easier to turn on auto retaliate on jad, aggro all healers on me and focus 100% on my potions and prayer while auto retaliate deals with the healers, after they are dead it is way easy to kill jad without a bunch o things happening on your screen, also switched stamina for another bastion for faster clear of waves 31-63 to preserve prayer
Got in 1st try !!! started with 77 ranged and 79 hp, ended with 78 ranged and 80 hp lol ! THANKSSSSSSSSSS
