    Cool washer. I love the up and down wash motion. The speed of the spin seems faster than any washer on the market now. These machines were built to last. All metal parts no plastic. That's why they don't make them like this anymore. They'd go broke cause they never hardly broke down. Thanks for the post.

    The couple of times I saw one of these machines running, my friend Austin was also using vintage laundry detergent. The machine was a beast, and everything came out SPOTLESS. Just like my Kitchenaid dishwasher, it prefers a more aggressive detergent. I’ve noticed detergents with enzymes do well with the dishwasher, and in limited experience it did very well in washers too.

    Great washer but like GM cars of the time it is power thirsty. These had a 1hp motor with direct drive for the spin. They haul ass but it needs a solid 15amp circuit or better.

    Eugene, just a little more careful with the sound effect volume at the beginning text there! Yikes! :P
    Not bad. But it looks like the transmission SQs still have the best results! This is why it's good for machines to not only give vertical action (rollover) but strong horizontal action as well! Did you try this in a direct drive yet? I actually forget.

      That kind of agitation you describe was also Whirlpool's advertising when they came out with the slant back panels in the late 60's with the introduction of the SUPER Surgilator agitator.

No other washer at that time and onward had a spin speed like that. A truly unique washer, could care less about the ketchup test as I would've added bleach

    Lint Chaser Ring should not be on that Pulsator. It's just not Original to that year. The ring below (Not Labeled) later to be named "circulator" was added the next years. I bet if you had used Persil and some Stpp and 5 minutes before the end before theOverflow Rinse started added a cup of Clorox, you might have had a better results. Unimatics clean incredibly well.

      Spin speed is 1,140 RPM ... same RPM as the motor itself. This is a direct-drive design in a vertical orientation, the motor mounts directly to the bottom of the transmission, with the pump on bottom of the motor. The machine's cabinet is the outer tub (place a hand on the outside when spin starts, can feel the water hitting it from the inside).

    • @unconventionalideas5683
      @unconventionalideas5683 2 роки тому +1

      Don’t use fabric softener. It “softens” fabric by coating it with a oily, chemical filled residue. Don’t use dryer sheets either, because they can cause drier fires and contain phthalates, which are hazardous to your health because they can cause birth defects and potentially even cancer.
      Edit: “coating” was originally misspelled “coding” so…

      @@timsouttahere Exactly. Samsungs are junk. One neighbor asked me about fixing her front loader. I looked at it, and found the face plate wiped clean of all the important markings and indicators. So, you had to remember the position of the dial in relation to the cycle you wanted to select. Plus, the white plastic had yellowed and the dispensers were gunky. The Whirlpool Duet from Germany was a far better and longer lasting machine. I am hoping that Speed Queen discontinues their 2018 models and goes back to the proven system. Because then, they will be the only manufacturer left that makes anything decent.

      LG is a better quality machine and has better results. Even though Samsung and LG are "sister" companies, LG quality is hands down better than Samsung. When my LG front loader goes out, I will either go with the 2019 speed queen, or another LG product.
