- Sarah’s brother Ryan Clifford joins the podcast with his husband Charlie Bird. Charlie is a clinical therapist, author of Without the Mask and Expanding the Borders of Zion, and former BYU mascot. Ryan and Charlie reveal some of Sarah’s childhood secrets, explain what it was like coming out, and their personal journeys finding happiness and each other. I am a gay guy who gave it all to be str8 till I was 28. I forced myself to walk, talk and act like a str8 guy and all of that while I was thinking of myself through everyone else's eyes. I was so depressed, anxious and I was in such a dark place. All my energy went into becoming someone else. In that darkness, I was living for the whole life the God himself sent me the most beautiful impuls of what is going to be a life changing experience. I realised that there is a plant medicine called ayahuaska and I felt such a strong call to go and heal myself. I am forever grateful that it found me before it was too late. I am 38 now and still recovering to be honest. I still have aspects that I am working on cause they were so strongly suppressed for such a long time...I felt so deeply both their stories and it was such a relief to be honest cause there is so many of us who go trough this.

Best podcast...i love Ryan and Charlie...i have a friend who grew up in Utah and is a Morman. His family and chrch shunned him. He became and addict. He has been sober for many years now and is a clinical psychologist like Ryan. His name is Paul and i love him to death...thankyou guys for your honesty...❤🎉❤

Don’t worry Sarah 😅 I was told by majority of my family growing up that my feet were ugly too. Come to find out my great grandma I share a birthday with are whose feet I got. Identical to hers. So I don’t let it get me down 😊
