I had my Sinn serviced by the official service centre here in the UK, it has a Valjoux 7754 movement and the total price was £475 GBP., this included a new copper sulfate capsule and re-gassing the case. The water resistance is 200m. Old parts were returned, though dial and hands did not need replacing as moisture doesn't affect these watches.
You'll need to convert GBP to USD to understand the cost but it's no where near $2,000, Breitling are widely regarded as a rip off when it comes to servicing costs and the watches are nothing special to justify the cost.

I just sent my Navitimer back to Breitling and I had similar service cost estimate. However, mine has the B03 in house rattrapante movement. I was actually pleasantly surprised the service cost for this movement was only $900. I was concerned it would be a lot more for a rattrapante movement. However, I thought they were really aggressive on their required repairs. I really just wanted the bezel replaced, but they are requiring a replacement of the entire case, crown, bezel, flange, and dial. That's costing an $1,300, which I didn't think was necessary, but I will pretty much have a brand new watch at that point. I was also shocked I don't get any of the parts back. I have had Omega and Tag Heuer watches serviced and they always send you the replaced parts.

I have a 1969 Omega Seamaster 120 that I bought new in Switzerland in 1971. I had it regularly serviced at local jewellers but had it factory serviced in Switzerland in 1989 for about $200. They gave me a free Swatch watch to wear while mine was being serviced. Again I had it regularly serviced locally. Recently it leaked so I opened it, dried it and intended to sent it back to the factory or any Omega authorized service center. Last I checked they wanted $1200 + cost of parts to service it. My local jeweller won't service it anymore because Omega now refuses to sell parts to anyone except factory authorized service centers. I'm retired, I can't afford that. BTW I paid $63 for the watch new in the box from a Swiss jeweller.

Thank you for the detailed breakdown.
I want to throw in my 2 cents cause alot of videos make the service of a luxury watch seem insanely expensive - far more than it should be.
First - Breitling is notorious for having very expensive service and parts cost. For comparison, my GMT Master 2 had a full service, new crystal, bezel, ceramic bezel insert and crown all for $1100. Yes they are different watches, but I still think it gives a nice perspective of how expensive breitling parts are. All of this at the local RSC.
That being said, what you had to do was more of a watch restoration than a watch service. Lots of damaged parts. This is bound to be way more expensive. Usually, if you take care of your watch, you will never have to do this, you will just have to service the movement every 5-7 years and check the water resistance every 2-3.
Servicing a Breitling with a valjoux movement is much more cost effective at a reputable independent watch maker. At least where I live, the AD charges the very same amount, regardless whether they service a B01 or a Valjoux 7753.
Replacing the clasp was crazy expensive and there is a good alternative to it - a good watch maker can laser weld any deep dents and polish it to a condition that is not different from a brand new clasp. All of this at a fraction of the price of a new clasp.
The only thing you cant really escape is changing the crystal - it is expensive and you can only get it from breitling. There is no way to avoid getting micro-scratches on the AR coating. You either learn to live with it, or pay $400 every couple of years.

Never had a single service with any watch.
    Never had a problem.

It also depends on the service center/country.
I had my Navitimer A30030.4 serviced by Breitling Canada. It's a older Montbrillant with a ETA 2892 and a Dubois-Depraz module. They charged me 1380 CAD tax in (or roughly 1k USD). That included replacing the crystal (as I requested).
When I asked the rep about this movement (usually Dubois-Depraz stuff is more expensive to service than 7750), she told me that it's a flat rate for auto chronos... B01, 7750 or Dubois-Depraz. The whole thing took about 8 weeks and I was quoted 4 to 7, so not that bad! Omega (at least their Canadian service center), took 8 freaking months for my Constellation Chronograph 😂
On the other hand, I heard really bad stuff about Breitling's USA service center (mainly on Reddit)... Sucks

Seiko NH series, Miyota 8 and 9 series and Sellita SW 200 and 300 series (and of course ETA 2824 or 2892). Can't go wrong with any of them, really. And all of them can be serviced by any local watchmaker or even replaced, all at a low cost. Modified and in-house movements are something I would avoid. And I would also always pick a solar chrono over an automatic one, because automatic chronos are where you will be spending the most come service time.

I had mine serviced by Breitling here in the US back in 2017 for around $750 so it seems like prices have gone up quite a bit. My understanding is the profession of mechanical watch making and repair has fewer technicians these days so I am not surprised that the costs have increased. My watch came back looking and working like new. I am probably going to send it in for service again in a few more years, but may have to rethink the value of doing so if the cost is even higher.

Excellent video my friend and thanks for the happy birthday to my wife on Instagram !😊 You are really showing the other side of owning a more expensive watch that many people don't see. Well done ! One cost in the compulsory service, the replacement of a marked crystal for $330 is a bit much. The crystal is not essential to the running of the watch and the customer may well not be bothered by that. For that matter, how damaged is the dial too? Many people would much prefer to keep the original dial on the watch. The only compulsory service should be the movement amd the flange possibly. I haven't gotten to the end of the video yet and I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll do but for a watch out of warranty I'd be looking for a reputable 3rd party watchmaker to compare prices. P.S. Sorry , didn't notice the crystal was optional !

Watch went back again, 8 weeks later, I'm still waiting for it to come back, not sure about the quality control, however all work was done under warranty with no fuss.

I think you have better than a new watch. Your watch has been more recently put together, more recently tested, and more recently certified than any watch in the showcase the day you got it back. It also is more exclusive since cosmetically an identical one cannot be purchased new because of the refresh of the face. Finally the number of versions of your watch is now limited, while the currently produced ones have an uncapped production number. You played the smart move.

I preferred to give it away, and with the watch my desire to have a chronograph also went away. I wanted a Speedmaster or a Navitimer, but not anymore at the moment. I have a 2009 _Navitimer_ A23322. Mine is the blue dial with batons. I bought it preloved in 2017. To my eye it's perfect lookswise. I don't think there's any damage to the crystal or hands or dial. However, it has gotten very stiff to wind. I also notice that occasionally, when the second hand is at the top of the minute, the minute hand is halfway between minute markers; and sometimes it's fine. So I'm thinking of taking mine to the AD and having Breitling service it. Goodness knows what they will find when they assess it and provide an estimate. I wonder if the polishing is mandatory, or if they can omit polishing anything.
I think I will be taking some hi-rez detailed macro shots to have on hand, so I can see what they are referring to when they come back with whatever cosmetic work they may identify needs doing. Just in case.
Also, I wonder if they still sell bracelets for the A23322. Mine's on the strap and those seven link Navi bracelets look so good.

Breitling will charge what the market will pay. Three hundred dollars for a new glass is rediculous. At some point people will simply not use original suppliers for servicing. They are simply pricing themselves out of the market. People will buy a watch probably produced by the Chinese who will service and support that watch for a fraction of the cost. There will always be people who will buy and get their service from original suppliers. Good luck to them.

The watchmaker I used before retired and he charged the same, I had an Omega Speedmaster from 1966 with 321 movement serviced two years ago and paid £350, that was including a replaced part that was very hard to find as of course Omega does not sell parts for those movements anymore. I think genrally watchmakers in the UK is more reasonable than in the US though. My Seiko SKX779 "Black Sea Monster" that I purchased in 1999 for a grand total of $299.95 USD has been wore on my wrist now for 25-years has never been serviced, has never stopped, keeps time +20 seconds a per day. Your Breitling Navitimer that cost $15,000 USD has a host of dysfunctions to service and the service cost 7-times the cost of my Seiko. My friend please open your eyes your flushing good money down the toilet to wear this so sad Euro trash watch!

It’s a luxury product, they cost money to keep in good condition. The price is fair considering the hours they have to put into this. It’s a chronometer which always is a minimum of $650 to service and goes up depending if there are major issues with the movement. The free polishing is a bonus and the crystal price is fair. You got a good deal.

I didn’t mention this in the video, but the my original video touches on the fact this watch was butchered by a local service center. So I decided to send it to Breitling, despite knowing it isn’t the most affordable option but I knew I had the best chance of having the job done properly.

Guys, stay away from Breitling!! The movements are since two years not any more adjusted, but simply swapped by a "new" used one. Hence your COSC Certificate is worth nothing, as you have now a NON ORIGINAL movement as your watch was delivered with in the first place! Why are the old parts are not supplied after the service? Because some other "conned" consumer gets them to pay for !! And by the way,old parts are always being resold in their "Vintage Department"....Boy George Kern killed this ones so well operated company to the fullest, what a sad reality !! Nowadays their slogan is : 140 years of the firsts, but will they continue to the future at last ?
