In short this is my first time at the strip in the 68 Satellite daily driver since the 5.9 Magnum swap! The car hooked up and launched great like a Mopar B body should, but there's still LOTS of room for improvement considering I'm still ironing out the tune and ran these times with a cooler, a toolbox and a full size fire extinguisher in the car. I also have a handful of mods waiting to install so with a little luck I might end up somewhere between 8.50 and 8.00.
The red Mustang I'm racing against is a 4.6 V8 with a 5 speed and nitrous.

That’s awesome! 8.50 is moving for that car! Keep at it brother! You will get there! 🇺🇸💪🏼
@@jdrods1519 Thanks for the encouragement man! There's actually a lot I can do to the car to improve on it but it is also my main transportation so I feel limited a bit on certain aspects of the build. Half of me wants to toss out the back seat, throw a loose converter and some 4.10s in it and replace the gas sipping Holley 600 with a 750 but the other half of me wants to keep the car affordable and convenient to drive.
As of now waiting to be installed/used I have an AEM AFR gauge, a Holley jet kit, a fully adjustable billet primary metering block, a fully adjustable billet secondary metering block conversion kit to replace the non adjustable secondary metering plate, a Mopar distributor advance spring kit highly recommended by Uncle Tony, and a fancy tapered 4 hole spacer that is a good copy of the expensive super suckers/hamburgers spacers. All this put together should help me iron out the tune and take care of that minor bog that makes my front end dip right after launch and give the combo a good kick in the pants overall. Another reason I wanted the AFR/02 gauge is to make sure my air/fuel ratio is good when I finally decide to install the nitrous kit I have for the car.
@@Impactjunky Awesome! One of the best things I did for my car was a AFR gauge forsure! I ended up having a bad O2 sensor and when it went back the AFR gauge started reading very rich so that tells you how sensitive they are. A good convert and 4.10s will do miracles! When I did 4.10s and a 3000 converter it helped so much! The Carbs would definitely help you out a lot! I understand what you mean about it being a daily driver. My rear in my f150 is making noise but I’m scared if I take it down I won’t have it back together before work. So I’ve been getting everything I think I’ll need to tackle it lol
@@jdrods1519 Good luck with the rear end troubles, also I forgot to mention I loved hearing a bit of "On The Hunt" in your newest vid today. Seen a couple of your vids so far and it seems you have great taste in music!
@@Impactjunky thanks brother! I love some skynyrd! 🇺🇸💪🏼
Sounds good 👍🏽
@MrJohn613 Budget Builds Thanks man! It's not just bark though, this dog has bite!
Good runs one of my dream cars is a 70 road runner with a 440 my uncle had one when i was younger.
@Brooks336 Thanks man! I love the 70, that was the year I was looking for when I came across this one and couldn't pass it up. It'll run 8.60s now after a timing adjustment, hoping to knock a couple more tenths off soon with some carb upgrades too.
@@Impactjunky You will get there just take your time and enjoy it because once you start chasing lower numbers your wallet starts getting empty lol
Go man go !! You’re in the limelight now 😁👍
@{ DMC Productions } Great to see you back again, thanks a lot for watching! I checked out a couple of your vids the other day and went to leave a comment but comments were disabled. That pro stock Cuda with the rubber on the quarters was awesome though! Great work!
💪💪
You got that thing moving! 🇺🇸💪🏼
@JD RODS Thanks man! I can't wait to get out there and make some more test runs and get it running even better!
The Green Machine really launches hard!
@East Bay Hounds Yeah man it comes on really strong for a small block/automatic with the stock heads and converter! I can't wait to improve my tune and install the mods I have waiting too. Waiting to be installed/used I have an AEM AFR/02 gauge, a Holley jet/tuning kit, a fully adjustable billet primary metering block, a fully adjustable billet secondary metering block conversion kit with changable jets to replace the non adjustable secondary metering plate, a Mopar distributor advance spring/curve kit, and a tapered 4 hole spacer that is a good cheap copy of the expensive super suckers/hamburgers tapered spacers that cost over 100 bucks. This should all help me get the thing tuned about as good as you could hope for a carbureted budget build and the AFR/02 gauge will also help me make sure I'm not running lean on nitrous and killing my motor.
I knew the magnum would get it
@Rogue Exploration Man its good to hear from you again, I hope you've been doing well. I saw we lost Anthony from Redneck Connection . . . I liked your memorial vid with the American flag. We never spoke because he had some kind of communication block preventing him from receiving messages from me. He left nice comments on a couple of my vids but every time I tried to respond to him my comments would get instantly deleted somehow.
@@Impactjunky Yeah I'm doing okay and yes very sad about Anthony as far as comments I've seen that happen before ya leave a comment and it disappears
Very cool bro!
Sweet.
Noice 😎👌🏻
