The Stencil Controversy and DIY Tape

I suspect that once everybody understands what's going on with this word, they wont be quite so triggered. As a side note, it also created quite a few kind emails with helpful intentions! What does O.O.P.S. stand for? It stands for Outstanding Opportunities Presenting Suddenly.
Those “failures” and “mistakes” that we so harshly criticized ourselves about actually became true gifts as soon as you start saying O.O.P.S. Try saying Oops in an angry tone. It makes it even more silly!
I just can’t take myself seriously when I say Oops which is just what I needed to play. I began to play, to have fun, and to embrace all of my “mistakes”.

I am glad that you included NO REGERTS on your stencil, I feel like it takes your meaning of 'OOPS' to another level. A simple typo became so much more, so what can I do with little art oops? I use no regerts as a reminder to not fret the oops.
No Regerts is definitely a close cousin to OOPS Arlene! They work very well together!
It is ridiculous that something like, “no regerts” would trigger or offend someone. What?!! I’m so glad you didn’t apologize because one certainly was not warranted. Love these tapes! I found out the hard way with the cheapo mats, but now I have some for fun art tape. Hugs from Ky.
All the ruckus did all take me by surprise Katie! Yes, the cheapo mats are not great for wet things as much but for tape they are great!

I started watching with closed captioning and they had problems--I laughed when they changed "no regerts" to "no regrets" when you clearly said "no regerts". Life is fun like that! Keep up with your cheerful outlook and we all benefit from that! Love your videos!

I just love the way you create by going with the flow. Sometimes the world is just not this way, like with building a bridge for example but art can be of course. Art is our window into a free world where we can do exactly what we feel like. I so love this about what you do, even in spelling a word differently, some people sadly have not discovered the joy in letting go of conventions, doing it differently just because we feel like it, creating new shapes or looks & being inventive. Since happiness is where we are headed with all these choices we have, your approach is so inspiring. Its like swinging through the trees on Tarzan ropes always able to find a new way to go. There is always more, this fun is never ending! Yay!

Am I understanding correctly that someone is triggered by a word that isn’t a word? That’s nutty! If that’s the biggest thing they have to worry about…how lucky are they.

Do you have to worry about the water-reactive layers lifting when you use the tape later on in your journal? Or does it do ok as long as you're keeping it the top layer? (I've had issues with smudging on the opposite pages with water reactive media, even when left out/open to dry for extended time)
I've been having fun playing with painting masking tape, and I currently have my tape on a plastic cutting sheet. I can already see that I'm going to want to make a whole lot of painted tape, and I don't have enough plastic cutting sheets to keep my tape on them. Have you ever tried saving your tape on sheets of acetate? I'm curious about how easily masking tape would release from acetate sheets. Thank you for any suggestions about alternatives for storing painted masking/"washi" tape.

And why is it Carolyn's responsibility to not use a "triggering" word to someone? Her videos are OPTIONAL and FREE!!!!!!!
This is so ridiculous. Really, I can imagine someone thinking it was a typo and sending a kind email to let you know, but “being triggered “? The older I get, the less tolerant of peoples BS I get. Maybe that’s why the grumpy old man/lady is such a stereotype. Rule of advice, if it “triggers “ you, don’t buy it.
No regerts is a classic tattoo oops. It's timeless. It's a cautionary tale: go to a competent tattoo artist. And choose wisely! And get an education- that always helps.

I have “no regerts” watching this fun video! And making my own decorative tape is such a cool idea! I have lots of art crayons, but I’m partial to Gelatos. And Gelatos dry pretty quickly and then don’t smudge. And the “regerts” controversy? I have a hard time understanding why on earth ANYONE could possibly get upset about that? People need to get a life. 🫤
