As a 4x space game, its decent, but I found its space combat lackluster. You just fling ships at opponents with basic math determining the outcome. I greatly prefer Endless Space 2's combat system because it has tactic cards that apply stratagems that play to your ship designs vs the opponent's designs. I.E. if you've designed your vessels for long range, you play the card that places your fleet at long range and has them hammering away at a opponent who's design favors medium and short. Likewise you can break your fleet up into 3 flotillas with these cards, allowing you to design fleets to have long range capital ships escorted by support ships operating at different ranges. You can take stock of your opponent's systems to exploit their weaknesses or lessen your shortcomings. GC-4's system is just attrition based, with the side with the highest tech/numbers winning by default. The animation sequence is also more satisfying in ES-2 as you see cutscenes where the two sides engage in exchanges like ships of the line did in the Age of Sail as they maneuver closer towards one another. GC-4 has ships zipping all over the place like a pack of dogs chasing a bunch of rabbits. Also, ground invasions are more interesting in ES-2, again there are tactical decisions ones makes during the invasion that affects the outcome. GC4's strengths are the map tiles (which is a more intuitive when it comes to developing planets), its customization of ship appearance, the variety of races right out of the box, and the inclusion of GPT to add a novel customization. GC-4's civilization mechanic is interesting to play around with, and does a good job of guiding one's priorities and playstyle. However I still favor Endless Space 2 instead just because there's more strategy in combats, and for reasons I can't quite put my finger on, but the diplomacy also seems more engaging.
Hey Jumbo may I ask a question?I have been playing Civ games for 50ish hours and I really liked Civ 5 especially mechanics but I also loved Civ 6 but I didnt find worker mechanics and unit textures good. I want to play Civ 5 but Civ 6's mechanics is also appeals me what should I do and which one would you prefer?
Момент на 2:10 ясно говорит о том, что игра посредственная. Зелёная звезда в игре. Зелёная. Боже мой. Сколько ещё подобных мелочей в игре испортит погружение?

Looking at the comments and views looks like no one even knows this game exists
