Personally, I do think it should be important about an actors stature when casting for a well established and defined character. It is about preserving the integrity of the actual character and story being told. Belle isn’t a plus size character, so it’s inappropriate for a plus size actor to portray her. The aesthetic is just as integral to the character as is the singing and acting. You need to stop being overly sensitive and being offended at nothing.

It's like a high school cast went to New York to get an equity Belle. She is great. Also I am watching this for information doing a sound design for a professional theatre for this show. Props to the sound crew. There are some amateur mixing mistakes, but the sonic quality of the mix is great for this level. Songs drag and kind of kill that vibe.
Belle was fantastic! Superb beautiful voice! I think Gaston’s acting wasn’t 100% right and the girly scream was not necessary. The fight choreography was good but there was no belief for me. The punches were really light and I think they could have put more effort into this as this scene is one of the biggest moments in the musical. Beast was okay and Mrs Potts was played really well. All in all a good show
A word about Belle pointed out as being a bit plump....I agreed in the very beginning, then I watched her lovely singing and natural acting, then saw her costume changes, and by the time she got to that famous yellow gown, I thought she was positively luscious! And such a pretty face! And there's the moral of the story there. 💛 2:09:30
Half hour in and so far… LeFou seems like he’s a bit drunk/tipsy but I’m loving it. Belle is a REALLY amazing singer and she’s SUPER pretty and I adore her. The guy playing Gaston seems to be having fun and I’m here for that. The extra songs and little extra interactions/scenes are awesome and I’ve gotten a laugh or two from some of them so far. I’m really enjoying this performance so far!
Have seen 4 versions of BB, and Belle was played by one classical, two curvy and one minority girl. Gaston though has always been played by a large, ie tall, Cro-Magnon guy. The director decides the cast, and I enjoy all the versions. BTW, what does SCA stands for?

i liked the prologue, and when I noticed no basket and instead a updated shoulder jean bag that took me out of the story right away as an audience member,. sorry if you have baskets and cans for milk maids and such, you couldn't find or get a basket for Belle to use which is what in that time period women used as purses if they couldn't afford string purses? sorry but had to point that out and say that was a lazy move on the props people and the director.
They had spent their budget on all the extra fabric required to make Belle’s costumes from scratch! Because the off peg Belle costumes didn’t come in her size!So, they had to make do with makeshift props! 🤪🤪😅😅🤓

I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the fact that a bunch of full grown men and women are coming here and focusing on a high-school girl's weight from a basic school play is hurtful and unessacery. She's in like - tenth grade! Don't you guys have much better things to do but bully a young girl you don't even know for... being barely bigger than most? NOBODY'S waists are as small as Disney princesses! And her weight actually makes her look even more, becoming in my opinion. Again, it's just a school play! It was a Very fine performance. Gaston was an ideal:enough handsome, tall & stalwart. While Belle-not enough beauty-was a little swollen. But Her Voice was beauty. I enjoyed it.
Belle is a bit plumpy, but she’s very beautiful and rocks it! Also a very beautiful singer too. I kinda thought it was a play about the movie with Emma Watson. If you ask me, this Belle sings better and looks more prettier than her.
