I almost cried filming it. After a minute or so, I knew it was a speech I needed to film. It was going to be something from the bottom of his heart and a message to 55 years of fans and the future fans that will be.
My sister was a Monkees fan, but did not like the movie this was the opening song to ("Head"). I personally loved the movie. And I'm glad Micky and Mike had this last tour together before Mike passed away. Only one Monkee left. He was a great musician, and his comedic genius was fantastic. RIP, Mike.
We miss them already. Party in Paradise Davy, Peter, and Nez! We’ll see you in a better place! Your rock and roll will never die! Thank you for making the world a better place! Rock On 🤘 🎶
mike knew that this was _his_ farewell tour and micky held him up the whole time and stood by in case mike needed assistance, because he knew exactly what nez meant by "farewell tour", too.
It was brought up before the tour that Mike was told if he didn't feel like doing it everyone would understand. Mike said he will fulfill the farewell tour because he promised the fans he will be there. That's one thing I loved about him. If you say you'll do it, you'll go through with it no matter what. He was always a man of his word and will do anything he needs to, to fill them.
I will never get over Mikes death im sure. He was my favourite Monkee and i was so devastated when i heard on the day he died. Listening to what he just said before he began singing. Was so touching and beautiful, sad even, knowing he is now gone. I love you Mike.
Those of us who attended know how special these evening with a couple of legends were. They gave it all up and you felt you you had somehow landed in the inner circle. Watching Nez tell his story again here (each night was different- I saw Seattle and LA in person) made me cry tonight, still can't believe he's gone. He did not talk about the Farewell aspect in either of the shows I saw, this was amazing. It's hard to say why someone you've never met can mean so much to you, maybe it's how his songs accompanied me through basement moments, and soaring moments.... He made me feel someone understood. So much love and gratitude Michael Nesmith.💝
I wasn't going to miss it. I've seen them but not Mike. He's a big part of my music and who I am as a musician. Thanx for watching. It was a blast to film some of their show.
Beautiful last speech by Nesmith. It’s not sad or maudlin, it just is. Nice Try, Mike! But I can’t help but cry at seeing and hearing this farewell song. Since I was a kid, I loved the Monkees. I remember watching that crazy show on Saturday mornings and laughing plus the music was good. I’d sing along to the Monkees theme each time. Hey Hey, We’re the Monkees! We’re too busy singing to put anybody down. We’re the young generation and we’ve got something to say! True words! Over 50 years of loving those songs. I can’t help but get emotional seeing how Mike is gone now to join Peter and Davy. I hope they are together again and singing! That would be great! If not, that’s okay, too! We shared this music all our lives and it’s going to live on. Thank you Mike Nesmith for all the laughs, music and good times! May you rest now in eternity! And Thanks Mickey Dolenz for keeping the music alive by singing at shows to remind everyone how great it still is! You’re the last one left. Forever a Monkees Fan! 👏🏻🎸🧹
Couldn't risk my health to go out to see what I new was the definitive last Monkees tour. Glad they got to do that, though. If you can go out and make a few people happy for a bit, that's a pretty good way to go out.
That was Mike’s love letter to all of us. I am emotional watching this. It still hurts after three weeks. Rest on king..💔

Mike's singing in this was beautiful yet haunting at the same time. I will have faith we will see him again in heaven
Just 2 months after this Michael has left us 🌹🌹
If you're not bawling like a baby by the end of this clip, you're not a Monkees fan.

Like how Mike tells the story about this will be the last tour R.I.P. Mike
Listening to it, it’s kind of like he knew the end was near for him. I didn’t even make it to the song as when I get to that point, I cry.
