This always was my favorite Monkees song. The lyrics are brilliant and the music was on point. It makes me sad to see them make fun of it like it was nothing. Still my favorite song.
This is hilarious and funny! How can you not love these guys. RIP Papa Nez this song is a masterpiece. I was there in the audience for this concert and the Monkees put on a great show! Nice memory thanks for the upload!
Nes was recognized. He had many awards.Very first music video in 81..but I hear you.He wasn't a familiar name except for the show.Too Bad.Ive enjoyed him since 66
Rest in peace. Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Mike Nesmith. In December I emailed Micky Dolenz and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October. I still have the ticket on my phone from when I saw Mike Nesmith and Micky Dolenz at the Majestic Theater in Dallas on Thursday April 16, 2020 at 8 pm. I emailed them a few days after the show and let them know how much I really enjoyed getting to see them.
So sad they sprung no admittance with out proof of Vivid vaccine. At door of event. In Texas. Show had been canceled 2 times and they never mentioned it!
Always seems the " quiet " ones have the best sense of humor 🤣 we will miss you Mike.😥 I'm the mean time I'll have faith I'll see you one day in God's house 🙏
I'd have like to see Michael Nesmith, Noel Paul Stookey and Peter Yarrow have a go at a song with sound effects to see if any of them could make it through the song. It would be so funny. Yes, I know that it's not going to happen. The music genres are different and Michael is no longer here. Michael reminds me so much of live concerts I've seen with the other two were they were just as animated and hilarious.
You don't know what the fuck you're talking dude! Nothing wrong with Rockstars having fun! Shit, Rush was always about that at their later concerts. Like at one of their 2010 concerts, Jack Black threw a pair of his shorts in the dryer they had for decoration and then stage dived. The Monkees were really the first band ever to prove musicians can have fun with it! They were just being themselves! You don't like it, you're no better than any elitists who think a musician should just sit still and not fuck around at a performance
Amazing that Mickey could sing this in the original key - what a voice!
If you keep singing it keep's the voice in good condition!
This is one of the most innovative songs ever produced back in the day.
I've seen this many times but I come back to it when I need some eye watering laughter!
Not only is this hilarious and frankly awesome, when my cats hear it they like to join Nez, adding their own renditions of the Moog.

My favorite, too! I thought I was the only one.

Damn I had no clue he died, that's sad, he was the mastermind behind this band, no more Monkees. Yes I know Mickey Dolenz is still alive.
"That's my girl" Lol Michael is awesome......
With the passing of Mike today, I hope The Monkees and esp Mike get the recognition deserved. Mike was a Brilliant Songwriter. This was funny .
That also means this song will no longer be performed live.

This is great! Mickey sounds great. ONe of my favorite Monkee songs. Will miss you Nez!!!
Daily Nightly was such a cool, weird, new song at the time, but I love how they are capping on the “moog synthesizer” fetish.
Wow! Nez is killin me!! lol
wonderful song. i am lucky to discover this as a teen.
Mike at the end, "that's my girl". LOL
OMG that's hilarious!!!
Good singing here, Micky.
The picture of the Moog modular system seen here is the IIIp, the portable version of the IIIc.
That's a custom configuration. The IIIp didn't have the 921 oscillators.
Just had to come see this again today. Puts a big smile on my face. 😊
I was there.
...psychedelic!...
hysterical!
Oh man, I love Mike
Brilliant and hilarious. OMG. LOOOOOOOOVE! LMFAO!
Always seems the " quiet " ones have the best sense of humor 🤣 we will miss you Mike.😥 I'm the mean time I'll have faith I'll see you one day in God's house 🙏
Always a favorite, from their best album!
The early moogs were cool
dolence sounds killer! just like the 1968 tune. first new wave class.101

Nez and Micky!!! Awesome.
lot of grown up punks ! in that audiance returning to where it all began in 1965. then came the ramones
I wish I was there.
still listening in 2024
I finally heard the lyrics slowed down. I tired to record this at the Borgata or the Keswick and got in trouble
I love this song... This is so funny..... so under rated
I think Bob Moog would have gotten a kick out of this.
i used to live next door to the moog factory outside of buffalo ny
2:11 i miss nez for this🥺
RIP
LMFAOOO!!! 😆😩😂😂😆
WONDERFUL !
This is hilarious 😂
LOL !! 🤣🤣🤣

It’s a shame they just did not replicate the moog on the keyboards.

Did it predate Popcorn?
By a year, I think.
pity they treated this like a joke..one of Mike's best songs

What is wrong with Nez?
I think he was having a lot of fun here. Enjoying his time with the Monkees after years of trying to ignore it.
o.O
That's not like Mike
archerboy58 that’s exactly like Mike 😅
Its SO like Mike!
Maybe not the Mike we saw, but love this! Psychedelic!!!
