- Paul discovers a power steering fluid leak, which leads to 3 replacement hoses, reservoir clean and a system fluid change!
At least, that's three more 30 year old hoses replaced !
Thanks for the support from IntroCar, International Rolls-Royce, and Bentley Parts Supply Specialists.

Another enjoyable watch big man ,curing incontinence one pipe at a time . I’ll say it again, I’m in awe of your mechanical abilities. Keep up the amazing work.👍🏴
What I tend to do on fluids that haven't been changed for a long time is fit a temporary inline see through fuel filter on the end of the return hose next to the reservoir so that any remaining dirt ends up in there, after like 500 miles of driving is take it back out, surprising how much crap you catch in that filter, if it's really bad I fit another temporary filter until it stays clean, can also be done with coolant in the return hose to the reservoir
I remember seeing the Camargue introduced in the mid 70’s and I was probably in the minority in that I really liked the innovative styling. I really am enjoying your journey as a new Rolls owner and I love how thoroughly you are going over it. She looks magnificent and you should be very proud of all the work you have put into her. Please keep the interesting content coming. Best wishes from an ex pat living in Canada. 👍🇨🇦
Thankyou. I'm determined to bring evey step of the recommissioning to youtube 😊
@berniepeskett-nb5jmn Yet another ex-pat living in Hawai'i...and I adored the Camargue when it was introduced as well! There was a green one lurking around Honolulu about 15 years ago. No idea where it's gotten to...
Enjoyable series! Nice to see you winning with all these little and not so little jobs.
We all need to send intro car a bouquet 💐 of flowers… do they have some parts or don’t they! ❤
Another job jobbed! Well done Paul. Even if they are not leaking, all of the remaining old hydraulic hoses will be just as neglected, which is why a complete hydraulic hose change is so necessary, so expensive...and so often neglected! I agree with another commentator here that a change of power steering fluid might be in order to flush out the remaining dirty residue. His additional suggestion of installing a temporary inline filter to catch loose dirt is another commendable idea. You clearly have a lot of knowledgeable subscribers who know these cars extremely well. Sadly, I am not one of them, just an old car enthusiast cheering you on through every satisfying achievement. 👍
@johnparnell8571 glad you enjoyed the episode 😉
Love the colour.
So many of these older luxury cars only see proper servicing under the original (usually corporate) customers, probably only needing filter, fluid and brake servicing until moved on two or three years later. After that, it's often a downward spiral of increasing neglect - as we know a cheapish luxury classic can still have substantial servicing costs so corners do get cut. Nice to see Paul pulling this low mileage car back from the brink into what is becoming a very fine example of a Rolls Royce.
@@markdavissolarradio thanks 😊
Thanks for this video, the step by step gives us confidence that we can give these jobs a go at home... keep them coming please!
Great stuff Paul. Car should be nicely ready for a summer road trip.
Hope so because I've promised Mrs LOC it's been worth all the time I've spent in the garage
Great video as always, looking forward to the next one.
Bloody pipes! Caught a few on mine the same way. Still don't know how you have time to do a job every week. I'm on one job per every 2mths! 😂
I bet Introcar have a belter of a christmas party this year! 😂
Did you get an invite? 😂
Thank you for your videos. I have a 1988 Spirit and I’m certain that many of the hoses need replacing after 36 years. I have a car lift so getting to them is a bit easier than using a jack. You are welcome to use it but I live in Normandy!! Warm regards and much admiration
More secrets of the RR not so good great channel
The best indicator for when fluids need to be added to British cars is when they stop leaking on the floor.
@@Lettuce-and-Tomatoes 😂
I would love a Rolls-Royce, but I’m just afraid of the maintenance costs. I want a Jaguar now and it’s bad enough if something breaks.
Reminds me of VW who put a sponge nappy on there sumps,,So when they leak,,You have no idea until there is nothing left in the sump,,,,,,,
Another great video Paul!
Another enjoyable video Paul.
I've never seen any videos of the Jag and I am subscribed.

That car is SO good, when you have finished doing all the maintenances it will be well worth ice blasting the whole under side and engine bay
Would be nice but very expensive 🤔
I agree, it looks 20 years younger than it should do. After the ice blast maybe Lanogard it.
It may be worthy asking Mr Hewes (the tank chap)i think he has one of those machines.
It might be worth talking to Mr Hughes ( the tank chap) I’m sure that he has an ice. Blasting machine
good job mate!!
Last week my 1989 Bentley Mulsanne S needed the same two hoses off the brake reservoir as you had just shown in your video. We'll see if I get the same this week on the power steering hoses! I appreciate your thorough explanation and work on these complicated cars. Sitting still does them in, more so than other cars, but they can be sorted. We'll both be driving soon, I hope! -Bobo KC
@@robertmurphy5624 thanks for watching 👍 sounds like a great car you have 😉
@@life_on_cars Thanks for the note, Paul. My son, also Paul, works at Zenith Motors, a RR-Bentley shop in Missouri. My 1989 is white, with a white and blue interior. I would not have believed that the car would drive nicer than my 1986 560 SEL, but it does, so now I am invested in their business, as it were. I am glad to see you in the RREC in Great Britain; you ought to get over for the US RROC convention in Colorado Springs late next May. I supply the cigars! -Bob
Thanks love your videos
great series but it must be costing you a fortune 😮, amazing looking car though, and I will look forward to the next installment, cheers 🍻
@@AndyThom it's certainly costing me time but a labour of love 😊👌🇬🇧
Hi Paul, excellent series on your RR, do you think that you might look into fitting a tow bar on that stunning car. I am in the process of trying to source a tow bar, but keep falling at the first hurdle. I have bought one for a Jeep wrangler *j-071, I'm going to look into fitting this to the rear crash bar with some box section bolted onto those massive bumper bolts. I meant to say, it's a Bentley turbo r that I have, very similar to your Rolls Royce. Keep up the stunning work mate.
@KarenMuircroft no plans for tow bar but keep me posted!
Another chunk of the elephant bitten off.............. Must be getting close to MOT day, No?? 👍
At what point do you decide you've done enough for the moment, or are you doing a full re- build 😅
Great videos and very informative in detail.
I have to get it to a point where I'm happy 😅
MAYBE! But it would be a fabulous example for an ICE blast company
Hi Have just watched the complete Rolls Royce playlist looks like you have bagged yourself a bargin there.. it would be interesting, if you dont mind sharing what your parts spend to date is and for future work.. also what did you decide to do with the passenger seat in the end.. were you able to source a new circuit board?
Robb Torremolinos Spain 😃
@torrerobb2238 hello thanks for watching the episodes 😊 I've got an update on the seat soon. Stay tuned!
Couldn't find episode 21, so jumping from episode 20 to 22.

I think at this point, you should probably just replace every hose you see. They’re all 30 years old and will leak sooner rather than later. Cheers!
Hot diggity Dog! ❤
What’s the bet that’s the original P.S. fluid?????
100%
no you put auto Transmation fluid in
Same stuff Buddy
So you didn't flush the system,,,Only emptyd the small plastic tank,,,So about 80 percent of the old fluid is still in the system,,,
Can someone please tell me how do I get my Ariel/ radio antennae to come up and down I can’t find the button and I’m not at home with the handbook at the moment
Silver spirit 2😊
It's supposed to come out automatically when radio turns on
Just got the car yesterday only this morning I realised the Ariel is automatic! Thanks for the reply life on cars
Somehow those jubilee clips don’t look very “Rolls Royce”. Got to be something better.
@brianredmond4919 that's what was used in and around the various pipework from the factory 👍 most likely because actual humans built these cars and not robots 😉🇬🇧
I prefer to stick to what the factory uses too but thought that ear clips for example would be neater if a bit harder to fit in the circumstances. Enjoying your channel m8.
