There is a well-defined proverb in the Jedi Order that lists the three different branches of the Order by showcasing how their members would handle opening a locked door.
A Guardian would use his Lightsaber to cut through the door. A Consular would use the Force to Mind-Trick a Guard to open the door for them. A Sentinel would use his tools at hand to open the door himself.
Ohvist Small I don't remember was it the Consular that would knock on the door in Knight's of the old republic?

Yup. He acknowledged their ability to blend in anywhere since they can do thing without the use of the force and potentially dig up ALL the dirt he's committed over the decades. Plus they're actually combat proficient. Just one really good one could've collapsed a lot of what he built.

Yep because they could fit in with civilians and don't need a lightsaber and the force to fight so it would make it very difficult for them to be hunted and killed

The kind of Jedi Sentinel I would be is an artisan. They use the Force to focus on creativity, usually to build lightsabers and holocrons.

One of my favorite rpg characters I ever made was a bounty hunter with talents for tracking, technology, and violence. Who is addicted to the hunt, so much so he converted to worshiping The Scorekeeper, and views Jedi as the ultimate prey. He has extensive knowledge of Jedi ways through black market manuscripts and, following Order 66, has become obsessed with hunting down and killing a Jedi Sentinel
Basically: Guardian is fighter, Consular is mage and Sentinel is rogue.
In D&D terms, I'd rather say Paladin, Sorcerer and Bard.
Mehhh depends. Guardians are typically fighters, but some guardians are specialized in a specific area such as Jedi aces and some consulars are Jedi healers. Then you also have the fact that some sentinels are Jedi artisans (not exactly very stealthy), they just look using the force to build stuff. I think it's better to say:
Jedi Guardian = Brawn
Jedi Consular = Wisdom
Jedi Sentinel = Brain
The Jedi Classes were initially made for RPG guides, so that makes sense.
Guardians are Knights,counselors are politicians,Sentinels are undercover agents
I’ve always wanted to do a series on a Jedi Sentinel that was expelled from the Jedi order from her master becoming a sith, so she goes to Balmorra where she lives out the rest of her life, protecting Balmorra in the shadows as “The Watcher”
Also she would be a grey Jedi, with two yellow lightsabers.
I like that idea.
I wrote my own Star Wars novel.
My main character is a Jedi Sentinel with an Orange Lightsaber.
His second lightsaber is double bladed one side gold the other side black.
Disney should hire me since I wrote the longest Star Wars novel in the world.

Something about the Sentinels man, they’re so badass. Yellow is my favourite lightsaber colour by far as well. If I was in the Star Wars universe, they’re who I’d want to be.

From a starwars westend game here! My character basically became a shadow sentinel even though they don't consider themselves a Jedi since she isn't apart of the order (our campaign takes place about 12-15 years after the destruction of the second death star and doesn't consider the new Disney movies apart of our canon) even though they are proficient in the light side of the force.

Jedi Sentinels have always been pretty cool in their secrecy and more broad skills that better fit dealing with the galaxy on a regular basis. I don't think I would be a good Sentinel because I love lightsaber combat too much.

Sentinels don't avoid using their Lightsabers all the time, more that they encourage you to use other tools as well. In fact (in some situations) they could arguably be more effective with one than a Guardian, due to the surprise factor of seeing a Blaster-user suddenly pop out a glowing yellow beam. I'm sure that if someone from our world somehow fell into the Star Wars universe (isekai fanfics I'm looking at you), they'd be under this class due to already having that outsider knowledge.
A Guardian will kick the door open.
A Consular will knock politely and thoroughly convince the person to open it.
A Sentinel will pick the lock.
We need a movie with the main hero being a Jedi Sentinel.

They've never stated any character to be a Sentinel in Canon - lightsaber colours aren't restricted to one class, despite what most think. The closest options would be Quinlan Vos (though considering the difference between his EU and Canon versions I can't say for sure), the Grand Inquisitor and the Temple Guards (using the _Legends_ description).
@@harryunderwood9387 Yea. Lightsaber colors are now linked to the Jedi and Crystal bonding. Honestly, I thought it was more unique when they had to find the crystal or Sith made theirs synthetically.
I think yellow lightsabers look way better than green and boring blue.

For some reason before this I thought sentinels were temple gaurds
So Anakin might have become a Jedi centinel. He is very good at piloting and stuff like that.
Anakin was way too force sensitive. That's why Palpatine wanted him as a pupil.
The Sentinel is my favorite class (on the Republic side).
Sentinels are those that do what they have to do to get the job done they're the most committed group out of all others and are willing to do anything for the sake of peace

Sentinels does not show up in the Star Wars Movies only in Star Wars Animations
so basicly it's just something added on as extra at the Star Wars Animations.

Well if the Jedi are modeled after the Samurai, the sentinels would naturally be the shinobi. Same allegiance, different methods.
Anyone play SWTOR? which of the classes best fits the sentinel described in this video?
Basically Jedi Shadows, throw in some slicing crafting skills and you get the Sentinel explained here. Altough the actual Sentinel class in SWTOR Dual wields lightsabers and have a class spec called Watchman, they are basically a Jedi Guardian with 2 lightsabers, and that can't tank.

While sentinel is a cool class of jedi I prefer being a guardian or since I prefer the sith the warrior the muscle of a team but I wouldn’t be some stereotypical blunt instrument

According to Swtor Shadows are Consulars not sentinels.
I can’t tell. So do Sentinels have as great a skill set in combat and using the force as compared to Guardians or Consulars? To me it seems like they aren’t as experienced because they focus on a lesser valued, to an extent, skill set. Why do they need a lightsaber or know the force if they don’t seem to even need it for their “job”. They seem more like bounty hunters with lightsabers and the force but they don’t intend on using either. Can you please clear this up for me?
