Prof. Hoodbhoy, you are smart and rational person. Have you read the Hamas charter? Who is firing the 3000+ rockets into Israel (from heavily populated areas in Palestine). What is to be expected from Israel? I feel bad/sad for EVERY DEATH, but what is to be done under the circumstances? As an analogy, the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs were absolutely necessary, NO MATTER WHAT.
Nothing is necessary except morality, in their morality killing innocent people is not a problem, so they bombed

I also do not understand that why Arabs were so reluctant to give some space to the jews In the first place. I have never met any Israeli but I believe that they must be like other fellow humans. Why is there so much bias, suspicion, and hate fed in our minds about them? I firmly support the Palestinian cause but *I do not do that blindly.*

The ones not already living in this region had the right to come for pilgramage. There were also jewish communities in palestine before the balfour declaration. They weren't vacated by the palestinians or the ottomons. However, israel was made with the goal of eradicating all non-jews from this land. So, they are doing exactly what the zoinist movement has fed their mind with and they wont stop at any logic or human rights voilation. Can you see why the hate now? Or do you disagree?

But from their perspective, they were the actual inhabitants of the land. And history corroborates this.
Even in today's Israel, 20%-25% percentage of total population are Muslims. And we barely see them protesting for rights. (There is 100x angst among the Muslims living in Islamic countries than the ones living in Un-Islamic ones (including Israel).
You said that Jews wanted to eradicate all non-jews from the land. This seems very unrealistic and might be a hollow and empty wish of a few extremist jews. (Just as we muslims too have some extremist elements within us who dream the same). Tell me, in which western or European countries muslims are not living? Let me tell you the countries where Muslims are looked down at.
Saudi Arabia and its sister countries. Iran too has a pride and never offer their nationalities (and rights) to muslims from other lands.
I feel sympathy, grief, and regret about the Palestinians and I also believe that they have been dealt in an absolute inhumane way. But, .... Other side also have its arguements
@@smalirizvi8026 dude, i just checked this one google, you can do it too. The total population of palestine(which is the west bank and the gaza) is 5 million, its 90% muslim, 7-9 christian. That of israel is 9 million of whhich 18% are muslims and 2% christians. So the 20-25% you're talking about is only of israel(A state that treats non jews as second class citizens) which is why you'll find so many palestinians in other countries such as US, CANADA, UK, LEBONON, GERMANY, SAUDIA and even Pakistan. For a jew in any part of the world there are huge incentives to move to israel where as for a palestinian whether in gaza, west bank kr israel, life is a living hell.
As for your claim that history corroborates zoinist's claim, they were evicted 2500 years ago. For 2500 years ago they were scattered around africa, asia, europe and later the new world. You cant just come back and claim something after that long.
As a pakistani liberal ive gotten in heated arguments with the conservatives but ive never seen one reason why israel should replace palestine. I dont know what history books you read but if 2500 year should count as the real inhibitants them the white people of north, south america, australja and new zealend should leave first.
As for why muslims move to western and european countries and not yo gulf countries, that's because of the social benifits, higher education and lucrative jobs. Which is not just attractive to muslims but also attractive to non muslims africans, indians, eastern europeans and people from latin america. Also, there are million of pakistanis, indian muslims, and bangladeshis in the gulf countries. They dont give nationalities because they are not liberals. They dont even have democracies. However, they are getting better.but besides because one country/nation is doing something wrong doesnt mean the other shouldnt be criticized for theirs.

Proportion of casualties is enough to answer your question. When you have enough defense through Iron Dome and border control, your "self-defense" ends right there and everything beyond that is offensive war crime. You have no right to use advanced military laden with deadliest weapons on civilian targets. Oh huh terorrists were launching rockets from there! Dont tell me an advanced and intelligent Israeli military had no means to neutralize those terrorists hiding in civil areas through ground incursion and other tactics than direct air raids that killed unarmed civilians 90% of the time

Wonder if Eqbal had read his own scriptures before he worried about what was said by Jews and before making statement of extermination. I am pretty sure if I did, he was selective in interpretation. What caused Israel to go to Lebanon. Dr. Hood - you are a ray of hope for a society which has gone crazy and would really like to continue your work on introspection of the society to reform it. I do think it is a loosing battle.
