I had several trips of 600+ mile in MYLR this year and the experience was great. Tesla Supercharger works. Took 15’-30’ max. Just enough time to use the restroom, stretch legs, get a cup of coffee or snacks.
Yeah it cuts me off too. When I'm looking at those beautiful blue skies and the rock formations and even checking that weaving driver coming up on my left - it cuts me off? Sheesh!
We have traveled the Route 66/40 many times. I wish I had the Tesla on those trips. Get a kick out of your roadtrip commentary -- LOL! --makes me want to go on the road again! Love the relationship you have with your wife and baby girl! Precious life!

4:46 this explanation is new to me, but it’s an apt comparison to having just a few gallons of gas in an ICE car, with the ability to regenerate some of that. According to some references I could find, the Model Y LR Dual Motor has an 82 kWH battery with 75 usable, and the Mach-E ER AWD has a 98.7 kWH battery with 91 usable. Knowing that also explains the aggressiveness the Tesla has with regen.

Does standard range model 3 have enough range for these long trips?
yes but you will stop at every single charge and might need to do 90+% charges for some.
i know i can google this question but i figured it would be something to put in the comments section for that juicy algorithm. i ordered a model YLR and it's coming in december. says it's not going to come with the mobile connector anymore. my question is, does that mobile connector have what I need to charge at a non supercharger? my workplace has EV stations that i can charge for free but I don't know if i'll need an adapter of some sort to charge there.
also, my delivery date is dec 12-22, do i delay until January first for that $7500 tax credit?

A little under three gallons of gas. Gas is something like 33.6 kWh/gallon.

-don’t avoid potholes
-don’t avoid debris in the road
-don’t give extra room to the wide load
-don’t speed up to pass someone
-and don’t get mad at phantom braking & floor it!

Hey Gjeebs I have a 2020 Model Y also. I stopped updating my software a while ago because I was afraid of the U.I. Getting slower just like iPhones do. Has yours started to get slower with the latest update? Like UA-cam etc.
I don't mess with apps like UA-cam or Netflix but everything else seems fine.
the ui isnt slower, but youll lose things like radar.

If you travel with a small trailer and you put a home generator on it you can drive the Tesla while charging it and only have to stop for gas.
What’s crazy with Ev’s is if you go 55 mile an hour constant you’ll get more than the epa usually. But 70? a bit less. 80? way less, 85 losing a ton. But realistically.. We drive 80mph on the highway.. So anyone with a tesla It’s great when you leave it on percentage and the car tells you what percent you have cause the miles aren’t accurate. Like Gjeebs said. However Cars like the mustang mach e have GOM and they are much more accurate to the mile based on driving and conditions.
You most likely have a 75kw pack since its a 2020. 82kw was used sometime in 2021 for Model 3 and Y.
