Oh you have some fabulous finds I this video. To check the fabric if it’s natural or not you can cut a bit or if it has threads and then burn it. If it turns to ash it’s natural with no chemicals but if it melts and sticks together is man made or has some chemicals on it. Thank you for sharing Hope

It wasn't a huge haul this go-round, but definitely some treasures. I really appreciate the tip. I may give that a try. Thanks!

I think I only find things because I look pretty often. I've gotten more and more selective though too.
As for the HL...I only purchase items from them if they are on sale on clearance. Otherwise, I look elsewhere. Their clearance prices are hard to beat.

I love finding old yearbooks! Both for the history and the unique graphics. (The pages scan beautifully for printing)They are also good conversation starters. Many of my neighbors are older, and if I find a book that might be from an area where they had lived, I will share the book. I've heard so many great stories, even if they knew nothing about the yearbook. It has created some lovely friendships.
So many things, so many projects. Creating makes life so much richer.

You are so wise. Yes, taking time to create is indeed a life enhancer. And, how sweet of you to share those yearbooks. Thanks for reminding me to scan some of the images. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!

Oh my, that huge dictionary! I totally label items that I donate.
The 1920s yearbooks, delightful. Texture plates, looking forward to see how you use these.

Do you really? I think this was likely labeled AT the thrift store as I see them often use masking tape and sharpies. I keep planning on pulling out the gel plate to test out those textures, but have so many other projects right now that I just don't need anything else out right now. Thanks for watching, Christina!!

always look forward to your thrifty thursday! I've used texture plates pressed in heavy gesso or a paste to make texture on a page - works so great!

I love your haul. That large amount of fabric doesn't look like muslin to me but I don't really know what it is. Love those yearbooks. I was just wondering if any of your family members might be in there when you mentioned that some of your husband's family might be in there. The covers are quite lovely. i also love that record book. The yearbook with all the comments is kind of strange but interesting. Love the eyelet fabric. That would rust dye really well. Thanks for sharing and take care!

Aw, thanks, Kaylin! The bit of the selvedge label that I can see says that it's an insulating liner - I'm guessing for curtains. But, I think I can still try dying, stamping, stitching on it too. And, yes! I want to try both rust and eco-dying the eyelet. I hope I can get around to it soon.
Thanks for your input and suggestions!
