Suzuki Intruder VS1400: Remove Cylinder Head Case - Tear Down Part 15
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- In this video, I will show you how to remove the head cases/units from the engine of a 1997, Suzuki Intruder vs1400/Boulevard. I have the task of changing the piston rings to look forward to and this is the first step of getting to them. By removing the cylinder head on this motorcycle, I will be able to access the valves and valve springs of the Suzuki VS1400 intruder as well. This means that I can inspect, and fix any issues that I may currently be having with the cam and cam chain on the bike.

This is the biggest project I have taken on, The bike will be completely stripped down to the frame, the engine will be removed for new piston rings to be installed, the wiring harness is going to be rewired and the entire bike overhauled, ready for spring 2020....I hope.

Loving your videos man. Saved me a few times so far.
Glad to know they are helping you Ryan :)
Do you think a head gasket replacement would be possible without removing the engine on a c50?
Oh man. I took off the bolts of the rear cylinder head on the right side (the long ones). The rear bolt went off fine, but the front one snapped way down where it is threaded into the engine case.
I guess I have a ruined block now?!
hay bubs, ive just bought a 99 / 1400,its in mint condition But its popping pretty bad at idle and acceleration, its coming from the back cylinder only, the previous owner replaced the stock pipes with 6 inch shortys,im hoping by putting the stock pipes back it will help with this problem,,if its a burnt valve,is that maybe fixable by spraying some cleaner into the carb throat while its running OR what do you think,,thanx for your shows i really enjoy learning more about the intruder,in my opinion they are the best looking and riding bikes out there, ill take my early model broncos and my intruder anyday over anything else,
Did you find out the reason oil leaking in to the air cleaner?
Молодец 💪👍
Hi.
I have a wierd ticking noise from from front cylinder. I fear its my headgasket. Do I need to remove the intire engine from the bike to change it or can it be done on the bike?
Hi Jimmy, a ticking noise would usually signify metal on metal. If you find me on Facebook and send me a video ill try to point you in the right direction
@ i will make a video tomorrow and send you. Thanks 😃
I was a little delayed but I send you a dm on Facebook Hägar.
I need to change the top gasket on a same motorcycle. I see that the frame is in the way of taking the long screws out. Do i need to take off the entire motor and transmission out the frame or how can i get it do? Please help!
You need to remove the engine to remove the cylinder bolts my friend. You might be able to manoeuvre the front bolts around the frame but it would likely be more trouble than it is worth. There is an engine removal video on the channel as well which might help. Best of luck!
Thanks for the info. Will let you know the outcome.
I need help I need to know where all the head bolts go buddy took it apart an now we don't now where what ones go where
Have you got a copy of the green workshop manual?
What's the right setting for valves?
Setting? These ones are not adjustable.my friend, whats important is the position of the cams when putting the head back together. I go through that in my top end rebuild video
Necesito poner el punto de encendido de la c50 suzuki año 2005 un video de esa por favor
