My daughter was born stillborn from hydrops fetaIis 30 years ago, she had heart failure, her heart stopped just before I delivered her, she was 11.5 pounds when I gave birth to her, they worked on her and she was brought back, she was given a 3% chance of survival, she spent a month in the hospital for sick children in Toronto, she had drain tubes in her lungs, fluid around her heart and her whole body was full of fluid, when I brought her home at a month old she was 7 lbs. she has two kids of her own now and the only lasting effects of the hydrops is asthma and some food and dairy allergies as she was on a special formula for the first year of life, so her lungs didn’t fill with more fluid.
Amazing story. Thank you. We Just heard of a family member with this condition. I have no doubt all will be well as God has already touched that baby. Amen
Parvovirus B19 infection is called 5th disease because its the 5th most common rash inducing childhood disease. The others are 1st - Measles. 2nd - Scarlet fever. 3rd - Rubella .4th - Dukes disease. 5th - Parvovirus B19. 6th - HH7/HH6. But this classification isnt used much anymore.
My daughter had what the Pediatrician called, ABO incompatibility and then had two exchange transfusions. Not quite the same as this. Very enlightening.
In the past, exanthems in children were referred to by a number, in the order in which they were clinically characterized. This old nomenclature includes six most common exanthems in children, which are :First disease = Rubeola or measles.Second disease = Scarlatina.Third disease = Rubella.Forth disease = Dukes disease.Fifth disease = Erythema infectiosum (which is caused by the Parvovirus B19).Sixth disease = Roseola infantum.
In case of Rh incompatibility all this occurs in utero , won't the pathway of pathophysiology of anemia leading to edema differ in fetus , as in fetal circulation the lungs are bypassed because flows from pulmonary artery to aorta via ductus arteriosus .
My baby has died from this at 16 weeks of pregnancy. However we had no signs until after death. An ultrasound at 13 weeks showed nothing. Can this happen very quickly?
Great pathophys, But i will have to bring up a point to you. The other video lectures do not agree with your non-immune causes. They treat severe anemia as just one of the different causes along with 5th dis, heart failure.....all are separate.
Thank you for the video, a lot of information that is very valuable. At the second screening at 19.4 weeks, they found free fluid in the fetus's abdomen on ultrasound, 8 times more than necessary, the heart works perfectly, strong, all organs work well, they found 1 artery and one vein in the umbilical cord, but this does not affect the fetus, it corresponds to its development period, even a little ahead. The question is, how great are the chances of maintaining the pregnancy and if there are recommendations, I will be very glad to your advice ❤️, I really want to give birth to a healthy girl, all previous attempts ended in miscarriages, I am 38 years old
Anemia leads to decreased RBC or Hb concentration, less dense amount in RBC depending on the aetiology of the anemia. Eventually this leads to decreased viscosity of the blood, decreased peripheral resistance, increased vasodilation and increased blood flow/venous return.....more blood returning to the heart to eject than it normal does....there will be cardiac decompensation...characterised by LV failure ....and so on as explained by our tutor @medicosis perfectionalis.
Asalam o alaikum i had 4 baby's hydrops condition were same like pleural effusion and pericardial effusion but one thing more stomach bubbles were not seen in ultrasound. But i want to know is there any genitical problem. What is the treatment of hydrops baby.
Hi! I remember that the name with numbers some diseases like parvovirus, measles, etc. Was for a list of most comon diseases that afected the children. Nice video I like a lot your explanations💜
Medicosis Perfectionalis Hello! Sorry my writting is not the best but let me explain my answer. Some diseases were in a list of a historical classifications of common skin rash illnesses in children, so parvovirus get the name of fifth disease because was the 5th most common on that list. I dont know who or where the list was created but I remember that was the reason of the number name.
Intense hepatic erithropoiesis will result in dysfunction/distortion of the liver parenchima, with resulting portal and umbilical hypertension, and this leads to a decrease in albumin production
Our 25 weeks baby suffering hydrops And anemia. Doctors couldn’t find anything blood tests. They will test amniyo. What can we do? Before 25 weeks, baby was so healthy and baby has not got any problem.
What happened with your baby? Do you know why the dr advised that? I’m 9 weeks, baby has cystic hygroma with hydrops... idk what to do because dr isn’t suggesting anything I feel so confused

You are amazing; but how anemia causes heart failure, I didn’t understand this one 💔
Anemia is one of the causes of a high-output cardiac failure (hyperdynamic circulation).
Anemia leads to decreased RBC or Hb concentration, less dense amount in RBC depending on the aetiology of the anemia. Eventually this leads to decreased viscosity of the blood, decreased peripheral resistance, increased vasodilation and increased blood flow/venous return.....more blood returning to the heart to eject than it normal does....there will be cardiac decompensation...characterised by LV failure ....and so on as explained by our tutor @medicosis perfectionalis.

why would there be hepatic dysfunction? 3:29
Fetal anoxemia , there z damage to liver
