I really liked the idea of Buttermilk - as the name implies - a mountain dedicated to beginner / low intermediates - right up my alley. However, it's footprint is more like a midwestern local hill than a ski destination. Oh well.
@@SRGSkiing The only reason I would ski Aspen would be to ski with my cousin that lives there (high end real estate). But, I know she's willing to meet me at Copper (she's on Ikon).
I was a bum out in Aspen for 4 years. Lived at the bottom of Snowmass for 1 year and 3 at the bottom of Highlands. Damn right about that parking garage. Highlands though is an incredible mountain to ride. You just have to know where the gold is. I have countless Mine lines out there.
And just like every mountain town, it's filled with new arrivals who are working the lifts and bars that constantly bitch "how much things have changed" when they themselves have only arrived 6 mos prior.
They were ubiquitous in the 1960s and 1970s but have been largely replaced by south America guest workers (or aussies in BC). I was a ski bum in mammoth in the early 80s. Fun times
Harrumph…I like snowmass. I don’t like Aspen Town. I’m from Orange County, CA and I can buy my Hermes and Moncler at home, thanks. I must be going now, I’m off to ruin Mammoth.
One of the most underrated skiing channels there is
DO STEAMBOAT
FEBRUARY!
We love Steamboat. Looking forward to it!
I LOVE STEAMBOAT!!!!!!!!

Yeah, and all of the park rats flying down the bottom funnel can be pretty imposing for beginners as well

😂
Hahaha this is mint. I know it’s a haters guide but putting it at the bottom of colorados resorts is crazy😂.
If aspen gets sold and becomes an ikon pass full access mountain it’s so over😔
They can afford to keep it exclusive
In a Civil War between the ski bums and the Aspen crowd, I might become a mercenary for the ski bums even though I have never been to Aspen.
If you are a hardcore skier, you will love it.
Copper haters guide?
Ooh, not a bad idea
Hey SRG, after you get off work, we are having a get together at my house, maybe you can make some extra money and wash the cars. Ala caddy shsck
Omw 😂😂!
make an actual guide to squaw valley!!
It's a long and complex endeavour, but well underway. Probably won't be ready to be released to the public until next autumn, however
Just a quick question from an Australian skier: What exactly are ski bums?
Those who ski full-time, scraping by how they can. Odd jobs, living in vans, etc. Somewhat of a lost art nowadays, tbh
How do you not know that? I’m an Aussie and I’ve known what a ski bum is for decades
They were ubiquitous in the 1960s and 1970s but have been largely replaced by south America guest workers (or aussies in BC). I was a ski bum in mammoth in the early 80s. Fun times
doesnt matter, theres no such thing any more. just rich skiers and mexicans working at the resorts.
Nice video but 7:10 , why would you not call it Ajax? Times are changing? Its an ancient name of a greek God.
Out-of-state visitors would be hard-pressed to ever know Aspen Mountain has an alternative name, much less actually call it by that
Snowmass has a parking garage.
Snowmass is a seaparate area outside of town
Poor buttermilk 😢
😆😂🤣
Lovely place and great skiing in Aspen. Buttermilk would be good if beginners went there instead of slowing down all other mountains down

Idk what it is but all y'all comments just been absolutely hilarious on this one 😂😂
You nailed it.
Yo, sick video. Aspen has some incredible lodge mamas though🔥🥵
😂
Nice job, very funny. I haven't been to Aspen yet and I think I will try other resorts fist after watching this 🤣
All just jokes, Aspen's fantastic
As a roaring fork valley local this is so accurate. Locals hate aspen
Sheesh
hahahaha, this is gonna be good!
Is there anywhere you actually like to ski?
Howelsen, maybe Chapman Hill or Lake City too 😂
This place is aspen. You can tell cuz of the way it is. Also, i miss your dubstep intro.
That's pretty neat
