Why not build a second paralell t-bar for redundancy?
Fair idea, could just be a bit complex since the T-ar runs in a triangular alignment
Royal elk used to be 2 separate runs, royal elk and black bear glade. Black bear’s entrance is off of Bald Eagle and the road, but it can be accessed through the Royal Elk entrance. It isn’t on maps anymore and the old entrance is usually roped. It from my experience is more difficult than the upper stone creek chutes. I haven’t gone this year but the most recent time I went the signage on Grouse was still somewhat outdated
Love your criticism!!!😂😂😂😂😂
I'm ngl that Peruvian restaurant was absolutely amazing when I ate there
Other than the Talons Challenge day I have never experienced a line longer than 45 seconds on Grouse. It always is empty. Also I would definitely advise eating lunch in the villages or early around 11 to avoid the crazy crowds
Remember when Silk Road was named No Tickee No Laundry.
😂
I was a bum out in Aspen for 4 years. Lived at the bottom of Snowmass for 1 year and 3 at the bottom of Highlands. Damn right about that parking garage. Highlands though is an incredible mountain to ride. You just have to know where the gold is. I have countless Mine lines out there.
As an Intermediate snowboarder who just rode the new Wild Spur Express it was a great expansion to Winter Park and I actually preferred it to the Sunnyside lift for lapping Blue Cruisers. The mid station lift time is only 5 mins with the full lift being a modest 8 mins. It was also much less crowded than Sunnyside or the MJ side in General.
Wild Spur was, unfortunately, not an expansion. It was a replacement for the Pioneer lift, which opened the Vasquez Ridge expansion in 1986. Sunnyside's terrain definitely gets pretty crowded, agree with ya on that.
I like Vail because it attracts all the traffic so I can enjoy Beaver Creek with no line.
I'm a British skier, and am thinking of going to Beaver Creek in the 2027 season, what would be the best month for me to go, for good snow, an especially small crowds, as given the sheer expense of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa for a 10 day stay - stranded time British skiers spend in the US - I don't to spend that kind of money, and go all that way just to stand in a long line?
I would recommend early March
@@SRGSkiing Right, thanks for the heads up. I'll check with 'Crystal Ski' website from the first to the seventh of March to give me an idea as to the cost. Hopefully it won't be silly money.
Hmm somehow my previous comment didn't seem to go through The resort is Mirabel (3 valleys), France, and the run is hard to pinpoint but it looks like either Geai, Marmotte, or Chardonneret. The lift closest to the camera is Altiport.
So close!
@@SRGSkiing Hmmmmm. If only this run would have a name on OpenSkiMap... Blanchot maybe? but it looks like that starts at the lift and you are above it.
@@SRGSkiing Blanchot maybe? (If you see a comment like this twice its because half my comments aren't going through)
Angel fires issues make yoy love how you make it
Went to high school in Angel Fire, I'm from Red River. There was always big beef over who had the better mountain. Glad I'm not alone in hating on Angel Fire 🤣
That's fantastic 😂
Hands down the best skiing channel on UA-cam!
One more tip here: If you're going on a six day trip only buy four lift tickets max. For folks who don't ski a lot, skiing four out of six days would be a best case scenario, sometimes you might only get three days in. So if you go on a six day trip and buy five left tickets there is 100% chance you're not going to use them all so you have over paid.
WAX SKIS before leaving. Your list was pretty good, but I'd definitely add make sure to wax your skies with at least a good all-round before leaving, maybe even a tune-up if it's been a while.
very informative, thank you
I now fly in on Sunday afternoons. The traffic is coming off the mountains and first of the week has the fewest lines. Come back in Friday mornings when traffic is going up the mountains. I go in Feb now so even in dry winters there is a good base layer and most everything is open.
Keystones terrain park "has been going consistently downhill" yeah that's kinda where it's supposed to go
😂
Bro can yall do alyeska please? It’s my home mountain and probably has the best views, ( most snowfall ) and it’s superrrr fun if yall go visit!!

I'll combine the madras lentils with a pack of rice Very cheap and filling
Dude, stop ruining places.
Don't worry, our Hater's Guides seem to counteract any damage the Insider's Guides can do 😂
Your videos are so awesome - thank you so much. Your Hater's Guides are especially entertaining. As for lunch, when I fly into an area, I go to a supermarket and buy tortillas, turkey, mustard, etc., and Ziploc bags and then just make a wrap to eat every day at lunch.
22:00 biggest question with BC is why does upper BC mountain express start in the most inconvenient possible location? Like it’s usually faster to take a bus from Arrowhead to the bottom of strawberry and up rather than transit using the lifts
I ALWAYS bring ramen cups and madras lentils, they truly are convenient, even when not on the mountain!
Excellent video! Here are my thoughts on their tips, for anyone who cares…. If you are serious, and your Homies are not, don’t meet in the parking lot or by one of the chairlifts, meet at the top of a run. This way, there’s no going back to the car for one last thing, and when they inevitably tell you, they’re running behind, you can take one more lap. Having a helmet is important, but having a great helmet isn’t. You can find a Holt for $50 if you’re not picky about color, and it interfaces perfectly with my favorite goggles, the IO Mag XL. Also, I’m a big believer in having a spare set of lenses so you can cover sunny and overcast days. If you have a wife or a girlfriend, in addition to snacks, buy some chemical boot warmers. I don’t like skiing with a backpack so I leave it hanging on the ski racks and I’ve never had it stolen or otherwise messed with. Last tip! In addition to watching the Insiders Guides, check out the Haters Guides too. They help you adjust your mindset to the short falls of that resort.
I can say, the tip about wearing sunscreen is absolutely true. I was skiing at arapahoe basin for a few days with cloudy conditions, and by the end of the trip, my face had gotten all blistered up. I wish I had worn sunscreen.
Great Video. Spotted a couple kids i taught how to ski up here. The RESORT should get you a room and day passes for the 24'25 Season in Early FEB so you can do a Part 2. Not going to make excuses but despite having massive snow making sometimes the State limits water usage...like after the Largest Fire in NM history ... (comment mostly for the algorithm)
'Preciate you!
I’m surprised that this channel isn’t one of the most popular skiing related channels on UA-cam. The quality of these videos is insane!
This is golden my friend🍺🏆 thank you with all of my heart dude 🤟🏻
Can you do a video covering lunch tips / microwave spots for CO resorts? This is my first season living in CO. Would love to hear your advice
We'll consider it!
My favorite lunch move is packing a few hotdogs and grilling at Belle's camp in Vail. It gets busy but usually if you're up for making a few friends its easy enough to throw a couple things on. Bring a paper plate, fork, and some condiment packets and you're good to go.
Love that you put the location and run of the clips that you posted!
Agreed. Very helpful for terrain recon. SRG is reason why I have thought about going to Sun Valley. On his other channel (Piste Pickers I think??) he mentions Limelight. Looks like a fantastic groomer to lap. It would be a good one to lap the entire day and get 45k vert.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that 2 Lacs is now longer and exits alongside the Moutiere lift. This means it can be used to get to Grand Fond and Cime Caron.
@@SRGSkiing I meant that I forgot to mention in my earlier post about 2 Lacs... I have now edited the post.
Ahh, gotcha
Great video... I would only add: 1.Regarding goggles... Zionor on Amazing are fantastic. Odoland are the same but about 40% cheaper. Zionor and Odoland have never fogged up on me once in 6 years about (300 days of skiing). And when a branch scratches them or you drop them in the parking lot or accidentally lose them.... not a big deal and you replace them. Scratch off the bold lettering on the band with a steak knife and no one will know you are cheap. Just never wipe off the inside of the lens with any liquid other than a barely damp microfiber cloth that has gotten barely damp with distilled water. Use as little pressure as possible while cleaning with the damp microfiber. This is true for all googles, not just cheap ones. Don't damage the anti-fog coating on the inside lens. 2. No mention of using catheters? This is the best way to get the most vert each day. 😜😜😜 3. Picnic research: Stick a slice of cold pizza from the night before in a ziplock and/or some four ounce tuna flexible packs in your jacket pocket. Squeeze a packet of mayo and hot sauce you got from the base lodge while waiting for first chair. Mix and pour down your throat. Takes 90 seconds. Put used packets in a ziplock to keep nice jacket clean. Or eat nuts in a ziplock. Only food that can be ate on the lift is allowed. Going into the lodge only tempts someone to buy stuff and lowers your daily vert.
Awesome 👏🏻 thank you so much! I’m going to crested butte next week for the first time. This is all golden 🏆‼️
Can u recommend a daypack that has (softish) internal frame but still somewhat flexible (for fitting into luggage)?
The Osprey Talon 22 is a banger.
@@newagain9964 Also recommend the Osprey Kamber 20 for resort days. Wouldn't go with any sort of internal frame because crashing with that can be a bad time
I love Wildhorn goggles. They are relatively inexpensive, never fog up, and I love the interchangeable lens options.
Rip my heavenly trip it’s gonna be 45 degrees💀
😬
you know it! it starts tonight!
I lived in colorado for a few years and i definitely agree. Dont try to impress, because you wont. Dont try to act like you know things, because its not your mountain. Pay attention to the signs and adhere. Just enjoy it, send it where its safe and dont go too hard, and call it a day! You wont be on a tiktok, no one is watching you aside from no running into you. Love the attitude. As i got older, its more about safety than anything. Fun will always be had, but fun can be negated by something as stupid as someone sending it 45 mph down a crowded green and slamming into you.
If aspen gets sold and becomes an ikon pass full access mountain it’s so over😔
They can afford to keep it exclusive
The best way to ski at Breck is to not ski at Breck
For this season 2 Lacs is now a 10 person gondola and sadly Cime Caron is now closed until the 25/26 season after the accident that injured 6 workers a few weeks ago.
To go there from here in Britain is expensive, so if I ever do it it'll be a one and done, maybe it'll be in 2028 or 29.
Breckenridge is overrated and way too expensive. It’s turned into a wanna be Vail and Aspen.
Sorry! I don’t agree with the reviewer ! It’s amazing ski resort with lots of beautiful runs. It’s very family friendly and readily accessible ski areas without walking up to the gondola 🚠 and ski runs at your fingertips! My review 🤩🙏
Fair 'nuff!
Agree on many points : do not touch The Burn, absolutely no need to cut generic trails through there and would destroy what everyone loves about it! And E-chair should be left alone, a detachable is really not necessary as it’s not a long lift, and I’ve only been in a longish lift line on E chair literally once in the last 30 years. Would really destroy the character of the area. On the other hand , 6-chair lines are always long and it wouldn’t dramatically change the landscape to upgrade to a detachable quad so all for that. Disagree on C-chair, lift ride is not excruciating at all, although I understand the desire to upgrade, would kill the character of the interesting lower Gold King and Peerless.
If I was in charge they would all be non-detachable 3 person lifts. Also no trees would be harmed.
This is where I learned to ski, a great place.
Don’t touch the Burn!!
I avoid Breck at all costs. Terrible experience.
