    Lawyer is a great storyteller/teacher. Tell them what you are about to tell them, then tell them, then tell them what you just told them. The same method used by great teachers in school. So the jury hears the same story three times, and the story is now crystal clear. There is no confusion, so it makes the jury's job easier. What a great lawyer.

      Everything you said, Mr. Peck, is true, and I would further add that Mr. Hunter isn’t consulting any notes as he stacks up detail after detail after detail, except perhaps an outline to keep him on track. His grasp of all the details of this case is nothing short of remarkable!

      David Weise - hey! No, not at all.
      In the middle of his opening he mentioned Rogers said: “ oh, in Missouri, 2nd degree murder is what, 15-20 years? I’m fine with that.” Like it was nothing. Like it was under his control and what he would expect.
      But he’s being prosecuted in Florida and for 1st degree murder.
      That’s the reason I quoted the prosecutor. I thought it was great he reminded Rogers that sometimes what we plan, changes.... drastically in his case.

    Is it me or in Marks trial his attorney kept bringing up the $50,000 (which was actually $40,000) and the weapons non stop? He TRIED to cast doubt on Curtis’ story b/c he didn’t use any of the guns to kill her in the house AND why didn’t mark give them the $50,000 cash in the house instead of waiting by on insurance….he clearly doesn’t think like a defense attorney and would be a dumber criminal than the 3 stoogies in this case! No robber doesn’t bring their own weapon and hopes the family has one so it would had been an IMMEDIATE sign it was a set up by the husband AND Mark killed for $$! Mark couldn’t afford to let that $50,000 cash go! It had to last until he life insurance came in seeing as they weren’t in great financial position! It’s not rocket science unless you are a divorce attorney like his DP trial lawyer!

    52:00 I think prosecutor meant to say Curtis Wright fell in behind her, not Rodgers at that point. Rodgers then came out of nowhere and began hitting her with the hammer. Whatever, this is very interesting because I've followed this case from the beginning and is the first I've heard how they went about surprising her. This is just horrific and it is so sad to see her mother there crying on the bench. And look at Rodgers' face as prosecutor describes how he "went crazy" with the hammer. Rodgers is clearly reliving the moment. His eyes seem to light up and you see a slight smile.

  • @chicky255
    @chicky255 Рік тому

    Perfect prosecutor for this case he done the seivers trial too and got a death conviction but somehow the jury dropped Jimmy's to 2nd degree murder so that meant the death penalty was off the table. Jimmy got life without parole. Curtis got 25 years in prison which at his age he might never get out, and he would have had to go through trial too if he didn't co-operate with law enforcement and the state gave him a deal for leniency giving that he testified against his co-defendants Curtis Wayne Right and jimmy rae rogers. Which he did and the state got they're conviction so Wayne right has done nearly 8 yrs of his 25 yrs so he will be out in another 17 yrs if he's still alive . 17 yrs is a longgggggggggggggggg time away . Thank God I'm not that kinda person and will never be in jail . I appreciate my freedom.

      Susan Strait many times it’s a claim for ineffective assistance of counsel. Defendant can argue counsel didn’t associate/provide them with all the information. It’s easiest to allow the defendant to just come up there to allow a proper record and avoid appeals later. It’s not a winnable claim often times but....better safe

    Do I hear a “whatever” around 5:35 - 5:37??? The state attorney is talking about the moment Dr. Seaver was found dead, with a lot of blood around her. And just after that, he looks at the judge, as if expecting him to say something about it. And again, around 5:55 - 5:56, somebody is commenting while the state attorney is talking (maybe the comment is “and all we do”?). The judge never reacts. So strange.

    • @leza6288

      I heard this too. The defense, defendant and the prosecutor look up and the prosecutor even turns around. The cell phone is so irritating. I hope the judge talks to the offender of this totally disrespectful problem. Despite being a total loser and murder, he does deserve a fair tire afforded to him under our constitution. This can be contempt of court and bared from the courtroom.

    ONE hammer
    But the prosecution still argues that she was hammered to death by TWO hammers.
    This trial causes mr Wright, with a byname “the hammer”, to only go to prison for 25 yrs instead of life. And possibly a not guilty man, mr Rodgers, to go to prison.

      I thought it was "Jimmy the Hammer" ie: Jimmy Rodgers.Wright testified that both he and Jimmy hit Dr. Sievers with hammers. He dropped his (at the scene) and does not know what Jimmy did with his hammer. Wright agreed to testify against his co-defendants and the State agreed to recommend 25 years for his truthful testimony.
