Winning the Lottery May Not Be as Great as It Seems

  • As these Inside Edition stories prove, getting a windfall of lottery money isn’t always as great as it sounds. One Florida woman went to prison for tax fraud after winning $13 million in 1990. A former lottery official was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting he rigged jackpot outcomes in 5 states. But winning isn’t all bad. When a California couple won $266 million dollars, they set up an education fund, and a chef in North Carolina used his $250,000 win to feed the homeless. #InsideEdition

Sad because she cares more about money than family. Everything is about money now. If you win the lottery, you should do the following:
1.) Keep your mouth shut 🤫
2.) Erase your debt, move 🛻, & change your phone number
3.) Keep your winnings in savings so you can live off the interest 💰 💰 💰
4.) Plan on who you want to help out (family, friends, homeless shelters, etc.) BUT be careful because people will take advantage of you sometimes.
I have seen/read stories of some people winning millions from the lottery and losing almost everything. I don’t know why they think they can live in big mansions and buy expensive cars. That’s a big mistake! The bigger the house, the higher the property tax. I can’t even imagine the insurance cost on expensive cars.
The other mistake is that some people forget that Uncle Sam & the state takes a chunk from your winnings. For example; if you win $100,000,000, you’re not going to see all of it. If you take the lump sum of that, you’d probably only see 75m or even just 50m (it also depends on what state you live in). That’s why people that win the lottery need to wait before they go spending on things they want.

All fraud and crime aside, a lot of people don't talk about what it can do emotionally and mentally to people or their families. I heard many people change once a person in their family wins the lottery. They'll try to guilt trip them for money, manipulate them, of course use the tactic "we're family", etc.
It's honestly a shame to see people who loved you for you turn to love you for money.
