She wasn't playing around when she sung those words and spoke about her relationship with God. One of my favorites from her is the rehearsal for "This Day." I’ve said it before and I’ll continuously say it,Whitney was first and foremost a gospel singer. Going back to her first concert tour after the release of her debut album, she incorporated gospel to the song set. The song-He, I Believe-a song her mother recorded. Check out her singing it, the best version for me is the audio of her in Japan 1990 and when she gets to the end she ascends into the heavens with her unmatched head voice.

OMG, Listening to Whitney, makes me so sad. But, I'm rejoicing too. I feel the Holy Spirit. Looking at her videos and hearing Whitney sing so effortlessly is incredible. (Jaron, pls forgive me. I just had to say the following because this song is the perfect example of making my point). As a keyboardist, I loved how the organist accompanied her. Some musicians overshadow vocalists vs. accompanying them. Also, some vocalists today don't realize this. You don't have to scream and sing runs at the beginning, the middle, and at the end of the song. When you sing, build on the 'foundation' towards the crescendo. Leave your audience wanting more (i.e. that's easier to do when singing secular songs). Whitney, moves you even when she sang 'quietly.' That can have the same effect. I miss 'The Voice' so much. R.I.H.P. 🕊👑✝️😇🎼🎹🎤

I believe THIS is by far the best vocal analysis/reaction video I've ever seen. Whitney's God-given gift was the ability to present the wonder and excellence of God's creative handiwork through her voice. I love many of her secular songs, but let's face it..."Saving All My Love for You" could NEVER compare to the truth and content of this piece of ministry we just heard.🙌🏾 Thus, your reaction was priceless! Thank you for making a song I've long enjoyed listening to on UA-cam even more enjoyable. God bless you, brother. 💓

Durand Rollinson, I agree. NO ONE can match Whitney. However, when Whitney was in her 30s, to me, at times she sounded more like Dionne. People forget how beautiful Dionne's voice was. She's never mentioned when ppI talk about the best female vocalists. I saw both in concert. Even though I was a kid, I was blown away by Dionne's tone/voice. My Mom took me and our seats were right in the front row. The audio cut off in the middle of Dionne's songs. She went off! Hell, she scared me 🤣. She promptly got up and left the stage. That audio problem was fixed in no time. She returned to the stage and finished her set. But, her voice was incredible! Ppl don't give Dionne enough credit. Whitney, was more playful and engaging with her audience. To be fair, Cissy, Dionne, and Whitney, were all exceptional singers of their era. I was so blessed to see both in concert. An experience I'll never forget. 🎤🎤🎤

I listen to this about once or twice every year when I feel a bit hopeless. It usually helps very much.

Y'all gotta check out her new biopic
They have done justice to her memory and legacy. It is not like that mudslinging Lifetime biopic. This one aims to celebrate THE VOICE.
We need to turn up for our girl 💪🏽✊🏽

Thank you. Your testimony at the end is the true testament to her voice. Her soul transparency in singing makes the divine manifest and gives one confidence and assurance in their own connection to the eternal. One can have the greatest voice ever but without surrender to that spark of God within it's just tones. Whitney surrendered to the infinite wisdom of God when she sang. That's why we are so moved by her music.
