Just made this and it came out super cute but... 51 stitches is a bit tight on the average adult neck, I think (I tried it on a few people). Starting with 61 worked better to match up with a typical t-shirt type neckline on the average sized adult who wears a medium through x-large. If you have a larger neck or want a wider collar to fit with a shirt that has a wider neckkine, add more stitches. The other issue is that, as a couple other commenters pointed out, the second row has too many double v-stitches, making the collar curl up so it will not lay flat. I put a double v-stitch in every other single-v from the first row instead and it worked out perfectly. I sewed a skeleton button on one side of mine that would fit between a space on the other side to close the collar.
Absolutely beautiful! Just what I was looking for. This will be a Christmas gift for my sister-in-love. Thanks for teaching me this beautiful piece. Till next time 💚
Hi Crystal, this is a lovely pattern but in round 2, I did the 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in each V stitch and it was way too wavy. I tried again and on row 2, I did the 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in every other V stitch....problem solved. Row 3 was fine. Anyone else have that same trouble? I used same 5 hook and Caron yarn as per your instructions. Thanks very much for all your great tutorials!❤
@@rachaello6120 Hi Rachel, "in every other stitch" just means to skip a stitch and then put the 2 DC, chain 2, 2 DC in that one. Crystal tells you to put this stich combo in every stich across, which made my collar too wavy and not lay flat. If you "skip" a stich, you will not get the wavy look but a nice flat collar which is the look we're after. I hope this helps, let me know if that answers your question 😊
Hi Crystal lovely tutorial but it curls a lot and does not lie flat also I want to make it in the cotton thread for summers plz advice how to correct the curling problem thanks for great stuff
If i use a thinner yarn and need to do it bigger... how many more chains do i have to crochet more? I was really hoping you would make a collar tutorial looovvee it ♡♡♡
Im making this but it is curling something terrible! Ive tried making my chain with a size larger hook ... ive tried different yarns idk what im doing wrong.
Which row is it curling up on? Also, which way is it curling, is the whole piece rolling towards the base row or is it extra ruffly around when you lay it down flat?
Around 9:47 and again at the 10:00 minute point in the video, she lays the piece folded over and flat. Maybe yours isn't curling, maybe that's how it's supposed to be?
You have your Captions turned on... You have to turn them off on your end. My videos have NO words in them unless someone says CC on. Those are UA-cams captions

Hi there! Can you explain to me what is the difference between v-stitch and every other v-stitch? 😭
@@rachaello6120 As far as I can gather, she means to make double v-stitches from the first row, instead of single v-stitches
So elegant. Love 💕 vintage Victorian designs
As a big fan of the Victorian Era I wanted to thank you a lot.
For every additional V stitch you want to add, add 2 chains to base chain to get the length you want for around your neck.
THANK YOU!!!
Thank you. I'm considering making one along with her vintage wrist warmers

Mare G yup, i finished mine and it was too wavy/ turned itself into a circle rather than laying down nicely.
Leah Kim I had the way the problem too. Don’t know what I did wrong
Hi! Can anyone please explain what does ‘every other V stitch’ mean? 😭😭

Hi Crystal, the necklace is really pretty. I think if we sew a Pearl on each picot it will look nice too.
That was my idea too :-)

@@BAGODAYCROCHETI see. thanks Crystal! Will try to look at antique shops and hopefully they have one as pretty as this one!
I followed this tutorial but mine turned out so twisted, it would not lie flat. I didn’t crochet tightly. Any suggestions as to why?
Loves it!
Do you have an etsy page? I can never make this.

@@BAGODAYCROCHET ok thanks
But you are doing an excellent job.stay blessed
Very nice
did it curled on the second part cause mine did,i dont know if is the yarn i use.
I think it might be tension that you use. I typically use pretty tight tension so I upped my hook size and it worked out after that.
mine curls up,i dont know why but when i finish and put it on it lifts up from the back does anybody have that problem?
Mine too!! Ive been looking at the comments to try and solve the problem myself haha
hermoso!! me gustaría que pusieras subtítulos en español....
