And she better not be allowed on a plane ever again.
She’s still on a plane to this day
Seeing that they literally let terrorist fly here and stay. They aren't going to bann her
But she will!!!!
Including all the pro hamas supporter.
So humans are incapable of changing and improving, one mistake and you're ruined for life, you spiteful demon. Punish as deemed fit and allow one a chance at redemption.
This news report glosses over the fact that she was already fined for this amoun several years ago, but she has so far refused to pay it, leading to the lawsuit.
Goes to show the lack of enforcement these days have really made everyone more comfortable to act out.
Require prison time on 2nd offense!!
@dperreno
How was she still allowed to fly ? And how was she allowed to request & be served alcohol? How was her name & ID not flagged as a possible trouble maker? They also should accept some responsibility.
@@JesgateOnDownThe comment from @dperreno didn’t say she flew again. “Already fined” to me doesn’t mean she did it again and got fined again. It means she was fined already but now she’s being sued because she didn’t pay the fine. For all we know she never flew after the incident - I sure hope that’s the case!
Why is Attempting to open the door in flight not 1st degree attempted mass murder? 27K fine? Should be in jail for life.
She was trying to open the door to the cockpit.
@@baruchben-david4196exactly and trying to get into that cockpit is a life-threatening situation because for all we know she was going to attack the pilots to try and force them to land. Or tamper with the equipment. Or damage it.
@@baruchben-david4196This news report said the door to the front of the cabin that is not the cockpit that is the side door that you enter into the plain.

It’s also impossible to open the door to the cockpit it’s reinforced.
This women should never be allowed on a plane EVER again!!!
She won’t be
The best way to prevent these sorts of incidents is to make "Don't be this person who acts out" videos mandatory on all flights before the safety videos from the airlines, with reminders from the crew holding up the duct tape to show passengers they are prepared. Also having the duct tape priminantly visible on the (alcohol) drinks trolley as a reminder to everyone to be on their best behaviour...
@@REL602 ok? What does that even mean?

People needs to know that aircraft is not a dive bar
Airlines need to obey ICAO laws and be fined if they board or create a drunk.
@@petesmith9472Even a drunk won’t try to open the airplane door during the flight! Depressurizing the cabin should be a felony with a prison term!
Airlines should serve edibles instead of booze.

Exactly. Her ID/name should've been flagged as she apparently has done this before & refused to pay that fine.
*We need a GLOBAL no-fly list. Once you’ve “earned” that position, you can’t get on ANY plane with ANY airline!*
Boeing has more than earned a place on that list, lol.

No Fly List plus the fine
Hear hear
This should be penalty for any and all. Fine should equal cost to airline to divert plus damages for lost time and inconvenience to other passengers.
the federal no fly list only applies to terrorism... there are no regular civilians on it
National no fly list
The FAA shouldn’t have to sue her to get the fines, there needs to be laws already in place that make these kinds of actions a crime with said amount of fines. The minimum should be one year in prison and $50k fine plus a lifetime ban from flying on any commercial flight. If you actually injure someone, the time should be doubled as well as the fine. It may sound harsh, but it would cut down on idiots acting this way.
Are you not familiar with due process? aka "everyone gets their day in court?" The laws allow for civil penalties in certain cases, such as disruption of air travel. To go about a situation they file a civil suit, which is quite literally what this video is about. *facepalm* Congratulations on not understanding the basics. Also your suggestion of one year in prison is ABSOLUTELY ASININE.
@@cruisinguy6024 Civil penalties are a joke to anyone who has the money. Criminal penalties should be applied here. Plain and simple.

@@JoeOvercoat no, civil penalties are appropriate for non criminal acts. And the appropriate resolution for the fact wealthy people can easily pay fines is a wealth based fine assessment. Same as traffic tickets because a wealthy person doesn’t give a hoot about a $200 speeding ticket.
What we don’t need to do is go around criminalizing every last thing.
Thank you FAA, crazy people on airplanes need to be held accountable.

Some people are learning the hard way that it’s far easier to STAY out of trouble than it is to GET out of trouble.
Stop serving alcohol in airports and aboard planes. Drunks have no business flying at all.
It’s a great way to make money. They won’t stop unless regulations and laws change.
But...but...I need a few drinks before I climb into an aluminium tube to be hurtled through the air at 500 miles/hour....
As long as these incidents have gone on, I partly blame the airlines for rarely banning these crazy passengers from ever flying again. Typically, the “worst” punishment bans them from AN airline, rarely ALL airlines. That fact needs to change for all passengers’ safety!
An airline can’t ban a passenger from another airline. They don’t have that power. It would be like Target telling a customer they could never go into Walmart again.
@@marthaajackson True - but they should be able to get a court order to that effect.
@@marthaajacksonBut if the airlines wanted to they probably could get together and make a shared list. Maybe they’re worried about getting sued though - the issue could be that unless there’s obvious evidence of what happened like in this case, then for instance how would United be sure that Delta banned somebody for good reason and not due to some stupid thing the airline did!
Exactly ❗️👍
Crazy doesn't care about money or jail.
That's fine. She can continue to not care, as long as she's on a no-fly list, so none of us have to deal with her no caring ass. When she retires and can't collect social security because she never paid this fine and it added interest, she'll start to care then!
No, but it sure does love giving it way, don't it?
Agreed. Thank you for beinga voice of sanity in the comments. I don't think suing her or putting her in jail is going to cure her panic disorder or whatever mental illness she has. This suit is just further abuse of the vulnerable. Just ban her from flying until she gets effective treatment. It's disturbing that so many people think this suit is approptiate in any way.
Crazy will care shortly when reality hits them in the face.
Then she can plead insanity and go get help. Officially.
Attempting to open the cabin door should have a higher fine, considering that the door can cause a disaster.
The pressure makes it impossible to open unless you are on the ground or close to it.
All passengers who were delayed etc. should also be compensated by this woman.

why is it civil litigation? should be a criminal felony. why we allowing these weirdos to get off without penalty. also good luck trying to collect any judgement.
I don't want this to be criminal. Your government already has too many arbitrary laws.
@@user-zu5do6ri6rThis one isn't an arbitrary situation, she tried to force her way into the pilots cockpit/compartment which means she could very well have caused irreparable damage or harm to the control center of the of the plane, or harmed the pilots which case again controlling the plane would have become very difficult. That's where it becomes a criminal issue, is the fact that she put a lot of people in danger because she cannot regulate herself.
@fauxbro1983 As I understand it, the lawsuit is to recover the fine (which she refuses to pay), rather than for the infraction itself. The latter may be fair game for a separate (and criminal) case.
She was criminally charged. Part of those charges were also the fines associated in addition to the jail time. She has refused to pay the fines, so now the lawsuit.
Good. People better learn to shut their mouth and sit their ass down on planes.
As a frontline airline employee, I am grateful for this, but all the airlines need to come together to ban these people from ever flying again. So she gets banned on American, and next week she books a flight on Delta, or UA.
Ban them period!
They can take an Uber.
3 yrs in prison is much better and a lifetime BAN on every airline
How did drinking booze before/during flying get past the “good idea” filter?
People drank and smoked on planes in the 1960s and I never remember hearing of these incidents. These incidents are a result of cultural programming.
@@jimturpin6503 yes, people did, but the segment of the general population that could and did fly then was very small. Today, they seek to cram everyone into the subway car of the skies, cheaply, and make profit on the extras. People getting drunk at the scene of a crime to human dignity will not all take it well. No point in comparing anything from 60 years ago to today, it doesn’t hold up well at all.
@@markstevens1729 You make good points. But, we do need to compare things that have worked with new things that have failed. It is probably the biggest failure of our government, they never admit mistakes and go back to successful policies.
@@jimturpin6503 now we are in the degradation of society from government rot? Look, “back then” societies were more mono-cultural and the packaged stories that form culture really magnified that era’s “simplicity.” The truth on the ground was nowhere near as simple, as people who did not fit the narrow mold began to campaign for more rights for more people more often. It’s hard to be in charge and tell someone that they can’t have the same rights the person next to them enjoys, so the culture and society around it change. People blame the “government” for things that are simply the evolutionary progress of people and societies. It’s BS. You can’t keep the door to the world nailed shut. It has never succeeded.
915 cases of deranged passengers on commercial air flights, and only 11.5% due to inebriation? So low? I find that difficult to believe. I would have thought it would have been much higher.
a lot of them are maga not wearing a required mask.
@garyowen9044 I feel the same, but it's possible the other cases are pure entitlement -- which can be just as infuriating, dangerous, and destructive.
Apparently, some people don’t need to be drunk to act like that
It could be that they only count the ones where they could prove it with a breathalyzer. That’s leaves out all ones who sobered up before landing plus the cases where the cops didn’t have it or use it.
Every case should have a Fine, No Fly List and potentially jail time. Kicked off a plane before departure $2000. Kicked off a plane after departure $10,000 + No Fly List. Kicked off a plane after departure where force is needed. $20,000, No Fly List, Jail time.
accountability for all walks of life. and no alcohol should be served on planes.
Or in airports. That's just asking for trouble.
Money can be a hard thing to claw back, especially for people of limited means. For maximum impact there should be AUTOMATIC jail time that can’t be pled down. Wouldn’t have to be very much to make a strong impression. Maybe 6 months. Then add financial penalties.
It baffles me why there are so many mean and mentally unstable people in America. I work in a hospital and Karens are there too from middle age to very old.

In addition, airlines need to stop serving alcohol.
they need to stop serving alcohol in airports and on planes.
Too bad fines like this can’t be imposed in schools for disciplinary problems. Instead teachers are quitting in record numbers and the students suffer no consequences.
Stop serving alcoholic beverages in the airport as well as on the flight.
Everyone says this same thing. Most likely not going to happen.
It's nice to see some accountability, albeit three years later.
It should be $82.000.00 plus the cost of the duct tape and the cleaning bill to remove the tape residue from the seat.
I wonder if there is a correlation with thr decrease in personal space (seat pitch under 31") and increase in agitation.
It is about time for people to be held accountable for horrific behavior !
You didn't watch the video, did you?
I don't think anyone who is so far out of their mind that they want to open a cabin door, is going to be even slightly deterred by a massive fine, or prison, or anything else.
The issue isn't about leveling fines, its about collecting the penalty.

Nuts = big fines. No more flying on any airline.
It's passengers like Ms. Wells that justify a "no fly" list.

Will the airlines pay for their misbehavior?
They need to stop selling alcohol at the airports! It probably will not happen as there is money to be made selling booze. They need to stop intoxicated passengers from boarding before the flight and fine them! Then put them on a National no fly list!
Anyone ordering a neat Jack Daniels is up to no good! Flight attendant should have known 😅
😮😮they need to stop selling booze at airports and on airplanes. No reason for it.
People are responsible for their own behavior, but the airlines should stop serving alcohol on flights, it might cut down on the number of incidents.

There have been far worse cases than this woman’s agitation, So many more dangerous instances who have been treated lightly. Why martyr someone who is not well, meanwhile far worse cases are not being addressed. Do NOT risk the safety of others…put those known to be a danger on a permanent no fly list.
They need to start doing this, passengers have gotten way too far out of control. It is scary and not fair to the other paying passengers. Maybe this will stop these wack jobs.

No sympathy for karens on airlines.

She should sit in jail for attempted murder of each person on the plane.
Typical self entitled Karen.
Airlines should sue her for the interruption to their flights and schedule as well as the FAA fine
She needs a lifetime ban from flights and a much larger financial penalty.
No fly lists should shared between airlines and made public
Planes need an ejection chute.
Of all the bad behavior, assaults, batteries, threats to life, and attempts to open doors during taxiing and flight, and this is the incident the FAA steps up to bat on?
Good, and hopefully she has to drive every where now. Stay in your state lady.
Oh well. Somebody has to be the first especially because she put peoples lives at risk
Alcohol is usually at the core of these things.
There was an earlier report about this, why did they leave out she was in First Class and Drank alcohol before the freak out.
1- Stop serving booze on planes😮
People that do those type of things should be permanently banned from all airlines not just one airline.
At 2:15 it states that the fines are civil penalties. Another words, the people fined are likely never going to pay the fines.
Let me know when or if she ever pays it!!
I don't think any fine or threat of a fine is going to stop someone in panic mode. You have to prohibit alcohol at the airports, and a system to detect people who have showed up drunk. But that still does not help with people being overwhelmed with anxiety and acting out.
Some people have mental and anxiety issues and don't recognize that they are unfit to travel on an aircraft. Many people think they can travel away from home but then start to emotionally break down and become irrational the further and longer they are away from home.
I had the misfortune of traveling with 2 different people like this many years ago. It turned out to be an unexpected nightmare trip on both occasions with no prior red flags that their behaviors would erupt like this. One of them purposely left her antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications at home because she was on vacation and felt she didn't need them.
I travel solo now mostly to avoid these unpleasant surprises, so I can fully enjoy my vacation.
Meanwhile, they did absolutely nothing to the woman who admitted that she made up that a passenger was some kind of alien and frightened passengers... Something is very askew with the airline not fining that woman for doing that even after she publically admitted to making the whole thing up for attention... ☹️
Good, happy to see they are imposing penalties. She should also be on a no fly list forever. People get on a flight, with the expectation of getting somewhere peacefully whether it’s for work or vacation. No one wants to deal with this crap.
Lackluster reporting half of the story.
"She had just one beer."
So many cases due to intoxication. There are no DRAM laws in the sky! The airlines can serve as much as they can sell. I asked a Southwest Airlines crew to stop serving a man who boarded the plane intoxicated and they proceeded to serve him two drinks every 30 minutes, for 90 minutes, until he passed out. He was loud and obnoxious. I asked about DRAM laws in the sky and was told they don’t exist. So, 36,000 feet in a metal tube in the sky and that’s not reason enough to train employees on responsible alcohol service? Nope, not in the good ol’ USA. Money over people always. I wonder, do the flight attendants get commission on alcohol sales?
What the attorney says at 1:10 should be standard policy. When the persons actions are this serious those should be the consequences they face. Hefty fines and the possibility of incarceration for rule breakers as well as being placed on a no fly list should be made known to passengers. Don't like it? Drive where you're going or go Greyhound. The threat of having to go Greyhound will scare anyone. 😂
Are they prorating each punch?! Lol!
Good strong message. Hope she gets clean and puts the crack pipe away!! Ban for LIFE.
Also ban them from ever being able to fly again on any commercial flight😅
This is way overdue getting things under control on airplanes,it is totally ridiculous letting these people get away with this kind of behavior❗️
