I had a brown leather classic bw, this Persian, and an all green, and I wore them all down to the bone lol. It's the only air max I'll rock with. 🙏🏻👊

Love that review! Indeed this is the most beautiful air max. I have 3 pairs of persian violet BW’s and of course i jumped onto the wave back in 2016 and got the marina blue and the olympic version as well. Even my startup screen is a persian blue bw on my iphone. Here in Europe we don’t have bw’s in the store.

My first air max sneakers back in the '90s. Had like 20 pairs of them. Not one pair survived. They all dried out completely. A few pairs I took from the shelf after not wearing them for a while and the sole came completely loose. In 2017 I was on holiday and needed a pair of sneakers and was much in doubt about which pair to buy, almost bought a pair of white BW's but there was a bit silver on them which I didn't like that much. I still regret not buying them, because one month later it was already very hard to find and not that much later prices went through the roof because Nike made it public they stopped producing them (again). And they did. No BW's for four years now. I am from The Netherlands. Around 2000 almost everyone who was wearing sneakers, (not that common back then) wore the BW's. At dance parties 90% of the people wore them. Now 4 out of 10 wear AF1's over here, that's not even close to the impact the BW had in the days. They were really huge. Before 2017 they also went out of production for a few years. A lot of guys (and girls) who wore them in '90 would still wear them if it wasn't for Nike to stop producing them. Some say Nike stopped making them because they wanted it to get away from the gabber culture. Don't know about that. In The Netherlands for years and years sneakers were not allowed in clubs and café's due to the air max bw and the gabbers. I hated that. I felt discriminated. Worked at a lot of gabber parties, there were never fights. The most kind people having a blast. Nowadays you can close your company if you would forbid people to wear sneakers haha. Damn, I miss those days and I miss those sneakers. I know I want a few pairs. I have a huge amount of all kinds of sneakers, a lot of '90s and '1s, but for me there is only one real sneaker and that's the BW.
De BW's waren mijn allereerste airmaxen in '92.Ik was toen 11 en als gabber heb ik er door de jaren heen een hoop versleten...een 15- tal paar denk ik.Daarnaast heb ik ook een flink aantal airmax Triax en airmax Tailwinds,...versleten.Momenteel heb ik geen BW's meer, maar op 22 juli (de release dag van de 30th anniversary BW's) zal ik als 1e aan de lokale sneakershop staan om me enkele paartjes aan te kopen.Ik ben al enkele jaren ah wachten om nieuwe BW's te kunnen kopen.Momenteel draag ik vooral de 90's, ik heb er een 4-tal paar in verschillende kleurencombinaties.Daarnaast heb ik ook nog een paartje airmax commands, airmax plus 3 en Vapormax 360's.Donderdag komen daar dus EINDELIJK terug enkele BW's bij en een 5e paartje 90's (een kleurencombinatie die ik nog niet heb staat in afslag voor slechts 50€, dat kan ik niet aan me laten voorbijgaan).

Too bad the release isn't on the 22nd of July 2021, but on the 11th of September. But there will be at least 5 models. The Persian Violet and the black violet were already announced. Also announced now are the Rotterdam version which is the same as the Persian violet but with lime green colour instead of the violet, the Los Angeles version which has the violet replaced by orange and the Lyon version which has black, grey and geometric patterns. I really hope there will be a model with white as it's base colour. I never was that into black and all 5 now have black as the base. Perhaps there will be a few woman models as well, they were mostly white based back in the days.
My favourite Air Max model, I remember rocking them at raves in the Netherlands back in 94-95-96. Those were the days. Thanks for sharing.
