It's really hard to guess where all the Darknesses are without knowing if their are still thirteen. Or if a few of them are destroyed in Missing Link or Dark Road. We also don't know if the seven that are meant to be in the foretellers, Luxu, and MoM are indeed in those people. They do seem to be missing before the end of UX but at the same time Neither Luxu or MoM seem to be possessed by a Darkness, which kind of makes me doubt if the foretellers where either.
Here are some places in the present day where I am almost sure there is a Darkness.
There is Vanitas. On a side note I am not sure that Vanitas ever had a body. The Darknesses seem to be able to show themselves looking like a person so long as they have enough power and will. See the Darkness that Kills Strelitzia turning into Ava, I very much doubt that is Ava because she shouldn't be anywhere near that house at the time of Strelitzia's death because she should be with Luxu. Vanitas lost his power or will when he fought with Ventus at the end of BBS losing his ability to interact with the world, and almost fading. If it hadn't been for the negative emotions of Monster's Ink Vanitas likely wouldn't have gained the power needed to reform himself. He actually outright says that is what he did in KH3 right before he is tossed out a door by Sully. Taking a form even when it isn't possession does seem to slow down their will fading from existence which I think is why they do it, however they also seem to be defeatable in that state, or at lest they are able to be weakened if fought with.
On a side note I have to wonder about the Darkness inside of Ventus in the Graveyard, the one that talks to Sora. Is that Vanitas? Or has another darkness made a home of Ventus' heart? Vanitas is clearly not within Ventus right at that moment, or can he go within him any time he wants?
The other Darkness that I am really sure about is the one taking Riku's form. And likely has been taking his form and doing who knows what since the very start of KH1. We know that there is a second Riku from that early because of Recoded. In that game the journal shows scenes that happened but we didn't see when some of the worlds are debugged. One of those scenes was of Riku leaving the Destiny Islands after talking to Ansem Seeker of Darkness. However in KH1 we see real Riku leave the Islands and it doesn't look like the scene in Recoded at all. I think this second Riku is also the Riku that talks with Maleficent in KH3. What he has done between these two events...who knows.
I do think there was a Darkness within Ansem Seeker of Darkness. When Riku gets his body back from Ansem after the Door to Darkness opens then the Darkness stays with Riku. This is why Riku can change what he looks like which seems to be a trait of a Darkness being. It is unclear to me if that Darkness flees at end of KH2, dies, or goes dormant. It is possible that the Darkness went to possess Xehanort again because he was about to be recomepleted. But there are also hints that Riku might have trapped Darkness within himself. Either way if it isn't within Riku I don't know where it is.
Ok on to some less likely places where I think a Darkness might be but I am overall unsure about.
Dilan, he is the only Nobody who acts completely differently then how his somebody did. Well the children who become Nobodies also act differently but in ways that seem natural like they aged up. Which makes sense and is exactly what I think happened. Dilan on the other hand just seems like a completely new person. And I think it's because he is possessed by a Darkness. And that is also why he is being silent now. Darkness knows that it is unable to act like a human in a convincing manner and so it avoids acting. Well that and they might be in the middle of changing voice actors or something. Still the fact that they keep showing Dilan and make a point for him not to talk...yeah a think there is something. I mean they do the same with Aeleus but with him I think he was just always quiet, plus he does have lines in DDD.
I have one more guess as to where a Darkness is. I think Terra was born with a Darkness. This is why he seems to be naturally a dark element user. I think a Darkness is killed in either ML or DR with another person and when they heart melt into a new person(Terra) both the person and the darkness become the new heart. I don't think that Terra's Darkness is ever going to become a villain outside of himself(Vanitas), it is a part of him and he needs to learn to expect that. And the answer isn't going to be what Eraqus was teaching, because Terra and Riku both tried that and it doesn't work. And honestly merging with the dark element after killing the intelligence might be the only way to truly kill a Darkness(might be what Riku did with the one he got from Ansem).
I could see why someone would argue that Aqua has a Darkness after walking through the Realm of Darkness way to long. However I don't think she does. I think she was being turned into a Darkling which might be connected to a Darkness being but it might also not be. Even her Anti Aqua who she fights over and over I don't think is a Darkness it isn't...intelligent enough. She might be becoming what the Darkness's where before they cased off their forms like how Hades and Maleficent might be. However I don't think Aqua has a Darkness being or is connected to one.
So yeah I have placed about five of the likely six wondering Darknesses. Though it is also true that we don't know if the seven other Darknesses are where MoM planed for them to be. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Ephemer went back into the Unchained Realm/a data world so that he could send dreams and help to people. And if so I also wouldn't be surprised if a Darkness is with him. However as time goes on I am believing that theory less and less.

Re Mind actually clearly states that Vanitas is a time traveler meaning he did use a replica body. The present-day Vanitas is still inside Ven's heart, Sora even talks to him briefly when diving into Ven's heart.
it never even occurred to me to think of the realms as a trio themselves. *Mind-Blown*
I like this theory except for one part,
At the end of Birth by Sleep, Vanitas was defeated inside Ventus' heart. Meaning that he had no possible way to linger outside to form again later like KH3 Vanitas wants us to believe.
He was still inside Ventus' heart though not merged because Ventus wasnt having it. Say something like floating together. Making him like Ventus be inside Sora's heart.
When Sora used the power of waking he released Ven as a healed pure heart of light. But not Vanitas. He could have released Vanitas as a consequence but Vanitas was around before that.
That thing was a replica. The coat also makes me think its a replica because if he did form outside of Ventus he wouldnt have been wearing the coat and I dont think anyone can convience him to wear the coat. That thing supposively helps masks the smell of darkness or something or repell darkness, he would repel himself(?)

Maybe defeating darkness just means "REVERSING TIME".
Remind confirms that Vanitas was one of the replicas. Terranort was the only one connected to Xehanort that didn’t need a replica, his body just didn’t wake up and so Xehanort had Young Xehanort attain Terranort’s heart from the past to implant into Terra’s body.
"Darkness" in this case only pertains to "Sora's Darkness". The 13 Darkness's come from Sora.
Sora is sort of like a "checkpoint" between a world full of light, and a world full of darkness. However Sora is a culmination of All darkness's and all Lights.
Sora can manifest his allies in times of need, ie Sora possesing or taking over Kairi in Melody.
Sora cheats, Xehanort plays by the rules.

I don’t think so. He’s the darkness removed from Ven’s heart and given form, but ven never lost his heart and he was made well before Sora lost his. I like that train of thought though

@@lightning9494 Vanitas is an Advanced Darkness like Ansem, Seeker of Darkness. A Darkness with a strong Will that has complex thoughts and actually Desires things, unlike the Heartless, who are instinctual and function most like the Virus.
