The fact that back in the day, window washers stood on the edge and held onto the window frame in order to wash the windows is absolutely insane. Thank god for technology

What he said about restaurant windows, my wife's grandfather said about their restrooms and he owned a restaurant. He said however clean the restrooms are is a sign of what goes on in the kitchen.
The reporter's demeanor reminds me of Butters from South Park. Just immediately starts pointing out landmarks to the worker who sees them every day and then starts singing hymns
It takes a certain breed of individuals who are ok doing this type of job...I'm freaking out just climbing a 3 ft ladder to change a light bulb...I'll pass on this career.😫
Journeyman widow cleaners in my state start at like 28.50 a hour. But some companies also do commission and some guys doing talk buildings can make around 100k but that’s rare unless you own your own company or sub contract.
I would have enjoyed this job. I've worked painting high voltage towers, while energised, smoke stacks, microwave towers, etc... So window washing would have been a breeze, at least cleaner.
Get that guy to rappell down a building for a week. He wouldn't be able to move. That's extremely hard work and takes years to master. Oh ya did they mention its extremely windy on high rise buildings ??
I would have thought that there would be 4 individual ropes on each corner, with 4 different machine operating. So that way unless all 4 separate machines gave out at the same exact time, jobs like this would be 100% safer than something like a taxi driver.
This, & fishing in the deep sea are VERY dangerous jobs but they pay well. Crab fishing I learned on a cable TV show years ago, start pay $80-85K/yr. But I remember an employee died during filming in a storm. Couldn’t pay me enough to do those type of jobs. Bridge Maintenance either. Never!

That looks like a nice order of NOPE
With a side of f*** that.
At least it's better than swinging on a rope.

It’s for the possibility of something falling from above you. Such as clasps, nuts or bolts. Not for if they fall. Lol
Thats help so much that in every airplane should be :))))
I have a feeling those helmets come off when OSHA is not watching 😂
hahaha so original i see this comment on every one of these videos (sarcasm)
They’re not helmets, they’re hard hats

There needs to be an invention that allows something to clean skyscrapers windows itself, would actually be cool.
what is safe wind velocity for cleaning glass facade of high rise premises?
Tarun Hazra 20 MPH winds and it could get hairy depending on the anchor point and distance from the top.
There will always be wind present especially the higher you go up.

Why don't they have parachute bags?
Raphael because they are too close to the side of the building so if they deployed there chute it would just hit the side of the building
