i can find one and my ford is standing more that n year know
Clay mitt Halfords?
Does it clear over spray please
Plus haven't machine how can I improve haze on headlights please.
I have 51 plate Yaris
Hi mate
Yes the clay mitt is available in Halfords, it should get alot of overspray off along with a hand polish after, as for the headlights there are various restoration kits available that dont need a machine polisher, hope this helps
Regards MEC 👍👍
Those lifeshine kits are about 85 quid, they give them away when you buy a new vehicle, Audi use to have stacks of them in dealers
Ah right i see ! I do like their stuff 👍
Fiesta all day, Ghia was the badge to have to on fords of old. Is it ulez!, Whats the tax?
Hi mate, yea i am a fordy so im tending to lean that way and it matches my Mk2 Ghia too 😉 Yep its fine for the Ulez, £240 a year tax so quite alot more than the £20 for the c1, but its alot more car so i guess its the old saying, you get what u pay for 😉👍👍👍
Any idea on the 1.6L these came with? Found a 2007 Ghia that looks like a solid little runner. My 2016 Ecoboost recently gave up which was my first car and ended up being a nail.
Wondering if you know whether the 1.6 is a reliable and reasonably cheap car to maintain and repair?
Cheers mate
Hi mate, both the 1.4 and 1.6 are great engines, both are the duratec engines, they will go on forever with the correct maintainance, the 1.4 is slightly better on fuel as you would expect but not the 1.6 is not much worse, hope this helps
MEC
@@mec-tec brilliant cheers! In real terms I only need it to last a couple of years while I finish my degree but if I end up buying it, I’ll look after and keep it as long as I can. Any more videos on maintaining these cars would be fantastic, they seem to be a car you can easily work on yourself on the cheap.
Never understood why Ford started branding certain zetec engines duratec later on, when they are clearly zetec engines still
I don't know why I always loved the Mk4 fiesta, when they first introduced the 1.25 zetec
Yea i never understood that either, when you take the airbox off it says zetec on the rocker cover lol
The Zetec engine was a joint development with Yamaha "Motorbike People" might be something to do with licensing etc the 1.25, 1.4. 1.6 and 1.7 (Zetec-S) engines were designed by Yamaha for Ford, as you might expect from a company used to making engines that rev to over 12000 rpm they are very crisp and free-revving.
The 1.25 has been used in the Fiesta since around 1996 alongside the 1.4 and further forward the 1.6, the 1.4 and 1.6 were used in the Focus ( and IIRC Fusion) and the 1.4. 1.6 and 1.7 (with VVT) in the Puma (original ford puma)
They are unrelated to the 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 Zetec engines first fitted to Escorts and Orion's around 1991/2, the Mk I and Mk II Mondeo and more recently the Focus Mk I in 1.8 and 2.0 litre form alongside the 1.4 and 1.6 mentioned above.
Lovely. Much prefer the fabric velour seats to the leather in later models. Hope to see more content on this one. 👍
Came up canny
Auto Glym. You need to get in touch with this fella and sponsor him straight away. He’s passionate about how clean his vehicles are.
That would be nice mate 😉👍👍👍
Hi mec Tec, looks in really good condition, looks better after been cleaned up, nice solid car
Thanks so much mate ! Glad you like it !! 👍👍👍
Hi MEC what a terrific condition car for 20 years old - a lot of work but well worth it - D
