Jeez Bob this is just stunning stuff - ‘Research…’ is simply mind blowing 🤯 MANY thanks for all the Max work you do, there’s a place for you in heaven!! Thanks, Ger🇮🇪 😉
I honestly can’t believe this show was recorded and available! Cause I was there! I loved and still love this band! True originals and greatly under appreciated.
Amazing ! And hopefully one day a tape will pop up with the encores. But we're very lucky to have what we have. Any recollection if they finished with The Party ?
@@MaxWebsterArchive honestly have no idea. I was 17 years old and I’m 63 now lol. I barely remember what I did 5 minutes ago never mind 46 years ago haha
@@Podack the joy is all mine ! I've been seeking/baking/digitizing tapes for years and years now. There's nothing like dusting off a tape that's been languishing in obscurity for 45 years and doing that playback for the first time.
I’m shooting pool at Club Billiards, Pye is surveying his next Snooker Golf shot, I’m seventeen, Kim is a neighborhood enigma and source of pride. Man I’m closing my eyes and I’m there. Thanks for sharing this again.
Wow! 1977 - The first Rocky movie was release in December 1976. The first Star Wars film was released that year. Fleetwood Mac released Rumors and Meat Loaf released Bat Out Of Hell. And, somewhere in the background, Max Webster was rockin' out. I didn't realize it, then, but my tenth year of life was an interesting one.
I don't remember if they did or not, but I do remember I had a great time :) I also do remember they played High Class in Borrowed shoes which is missing from this.
Amazing, thank you for sharing this, subscribed! Saw Max in my high school gymnasium way back when (a million vacations ago) and been a fan ever since.
just an astounding set !! Yeah one of the best on this channel for sure ! The best line up.... the positive energy is overwhelming..woah ! thanks for your work Bob
So glad I found your channel! The wealth of the live shows here is impressive, and I have to take back my original statement that one of the recordings didn’t sound great? But what it was lacking in production? Made. Up for in how the band were always killer! Anyways thank-you much appreciated ❤️🎸😎🤟
Indeed - a lot of these shows were recorded from the audience, and every one of these tapers was heroic as they've preserved pieces of music history that would've been otherwise lost forever.
OMG this is just stellar. What a great listen. Max Webster forever. Cheers from Michigan USA
Never get tired of Max! Alternative Rock before the genre existed.
Max Webster is a progressive rock band like Rush,Yes, Kansas etc..✌
Thanks for all you do to keep Max alive in our collective consciousness Bob!

One of the best bands from that time. I drank a lot of beers listening to them.
I discovered Max Webster / Kim Mitchell this year and 1979's "A Million Vacations" has so far been the most important album for me this year. 👍
Welcome aboard ! It is indeed incredible and timeless music.
You, I like.
Research! Wow! Ferocious!

@@MaxWebsterArchive thank you for making that possible!

I got their greatest hits playing in my car all the time.
Kim Mitchell is a critically underrated guitarist. When someone like Alex Lifeson sings his praises I get great satisfaction for Kim.
Still one of my greatest inspirations.
Stellar!❤

I remember all of that I was 12. Missing on the negative side. Elvis died and the Son of Sam Killings.

So true.
It was also a great decade for horror movies.
I was at this concert, so awesome to experience it again! I won the tickets from CHUM FM
Fantastic !!
Any recollection if they encored with The Party ? I've been wondering for years.

Will always listen to Max for sure .
You can hear Kim doing the yet to be recorded solo in Beyond the Moon during Research at Beach Resorts.
Incredible, huh ? Beyond the Moon existed back in 1974 without the solo. Later in '77 the two were combined.

All of these tapes from 1976/77 have changed my view on the High Class era lineup. It was truly incredible.
Amazing!! Thank you for the post!!
The madcap scene and the Max Machine!!!
There is only one MAX WEBSTER like only one Beatles ZOONEY
Tour D Force !
To the Max👍🇨🇦

Great upload, thanks. New to the channel and I have been immersed all week. Backing vocals on Gravity sure sound like Carol Pope!.
Thanks for sharing. 🔥
Backup singers ruined Gravity😊
Thank you so much!!!!!
I'm a whole lotta feathers but not much chicken.
A heel-toe dance song tour de force!!!
Still doesn't make sense that these guys weren't huge. That I could go to the Coronet Motor Inn in Kitchener and sit in a bar 10 feet away from them.
The music business can be a cruel master. But you're still mighty lucky to have experienced them at all.
The original version of Research at Beach Resorts was interesting lyrically.
Totally different, seemed backwards in some parts. Awesome.
Never saw Max with the extra singers
Did we ever cover who Barbara was?
Never heard the tale. You'd have to ask Kim or Pye !
