Finally, "Scars Of War", the short film in which we put so much work and passion, is out!!
Made in Unreal Engine 5, the movie tells the journey of our main character, "The Ranger", on his way home after spending many years fighting in the frontlines. It's a movie about loss and redemption and a story that we hope you become immersed in.
We couldn't have hoped for a better team to be able to achieve this. We want to thank our amazing Character Supervisor Victor Perez (The Ranger couldn't look more badass!) Leonardo Furore, whose music and sound design really helped to sell the story, and Alberto Herrero for all his feedback, ideas and support. Last but not least, thank you Nick Atlas for the ranger voiceover and Francisco Morales for that amazing ending title!

the fact that this video doesnt have as many views as it should is a crime. This is really great work! Gave me Diablo 1 cinematics vibes but better quality. Great work!
Your short has amazing attention to detail. I would love a breakdown of some scenes, mainly the landscape at 0:45 and the detailed interior at 1:30

Was this made with mocap suits?
We captured all the motion data with a smartphone camera, we didn't use suits :)

It's all Unreal yes, and we are using Lumen and Virtual Shadow Maps :)
@@ScarsOfWar and how was the motion capture done? xsens? and facial? sorry so many question but i think youve made one of the best cinematics ive seen from unreal engine. makes me excited for indie film makers like ourselves !
@@locodooms haha all good, I'm happy to answer questions about the short. Our character is a custom metahuman, so we are using metahuman animator in an Iphone 14 for the facial mocap and then for the body mocap we are using Wonder Dynamics (also recording our movements with a smartphone).

@@locodooms Thank you so much! Glad you like it. For now we are taking a break, but we will be definitely sharing more content in the near future, mostly some breakdowns to show how we created some of the environments and what was our process for the animation, mocap, etc. :)
