If you use one of the newer Macs from 2021 onwards (M1/M2/M3), then these are really great with Unreal Engine. Of course an old Intel Mac from 2017 won't cut it. There's a reason Epic Games are working hard on supporting the new silicon Macs. They're great for this kind of stuff.
I actually REALLY want to learn blender. I started with Unreal Engine, and there’s still a lot for me to learn honestly. Trying to be transparent with anyone watching, cuz I’m learning along the way with everyone. I DO know that unreal engine plays back in realtime, and I’ve HEARD that blender does not. So that’s a huge pro for UE5 for me. Other than that, I’m not entirely sure.
@@JFM_Official I’m a filmmaker so primarily interested in previs workflows. I have a bit of an interest in BG replacements but mostly it would be for figuring out lighting setups and camera angles. Any content related to that stuff would be great!
Dude you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to Macs and Unreal Engine. You can't compane an old machine to a new Windows computer. Don't listen to this guy. Also, Lumen works perfectly on the new silicon Macs.

This was just my experience with lumen on my Intel Mac, and I’ve seen similar outcomes with friends who have used Unreal on newer Mac models. I’ve tried to be as unbiased as possible when it comes to Mac vs Pc, because TRUST me, I’m a Mac user till the day I die lol. So in my personally experience, buying a PC dedicated to unreal and other VFX has been a much better process for me. My Mac runs the rest of my editing work.
@@JFM_Official yeah I understand, thanks for the explanation. But I know many people (including myself) who work seamlessly in UE on a newer Mac. I just don't like the spreading of misinformation.
