We all have our crosses to bare. But some don't quite get through to the end,My heart bleeds for such tortured souls.Dust stuck with it, So glad she did, she left the world some wonderful songs, and a voice unmatched. Before or since.
Dusty was an amazing singer! I never followed her and now I so wish I had! Such an amazing voice! She will always be remembered for her grace and style! Rip dusty springfield!
I think she looks fabulous! And she is singing the Hell out of this wonderful song. She was the complete package--glamorous, earthy, charismatic, self-kidding and she could sing literally anything and put it over. No one like her and many, many big stars idolized her.
She was a so good singer. I will always remember her. I love mostly off all her songs. This concert was special. Thanks for showing me. greatings from Holland
Sometimes she throws in little touches that make you think "I can't believe she did that." I just noticed another one recently. When she's singing "I Only Want To Be WIth You," in all the clips from the sixties, she grabs her throat when she sings "ever since we met you've had a hold on me."
Do you think Eagle Rock would be offended if somebody put the whole concert on youtube? I don't want to hurt their feelings, but her voice is out of this world at this concert. I liked Dusty playing with the cameraman during "The Look of Love", and it looks like she wasn't just performing, she was having FUN!
It was written about my mother, who dated and was engaged to Clive Westlake, who wrote the song. She died last year and only told me about the song on her death bed, just 12-13 hours before she died. The words actually personify who she was.
@@MrBooojangles Thanks, very kind of you. While I didn't know about the song until late, I did know she was engaged to him. He went to London to seek his fortune, my grandmother wouldn't let my mother go(times were different then) and he met someone else. Actually married 3 times and once saw my mother in our hometown (Newport, S.Wales), saying to her that he should have married her. He died some years ago but my mum remained friendly with his sister, a lovely woman, and she was with my mother the day before she died. He wrote for numeroous stars, Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones included.
I love Dusty's music, this one being one of my favorites. Still you can't help but wonder that the 70's must have been hard on her personally. Just 10 before you can see some of her videos (son of a preacher man, look of love) and she looks just beautiful, young for her age at the time and she's singing like an angel. But in 1979 she looks very old, she appears to be 50, even though she's only 40/41 and her voice is not what it used to be.
Doing some research into the amazing life of Dusty. From what I am gathering Dusty made her first solo performance (away from the sprinfields) in Halifax West Yorkshire at big Daddys....(yes the wrestler) nightclub. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.
I adore her voice and I think I can go back to when I was very little and remember it well, What's she up to these days? Nonsense about her looking old. You couldn't get any indication from the film. Anyway, what wrong with aging, look at Ella Fitzgerald and Cleo Laine, still singing in their late 70's. Why stop beauty? I love crows feet myself, Get real, we all a voice and don't involve face lifts.
actually i don't she is the best period, alive or dead no one is better than her end of! It is however my opinion and not shared by everyone i guess, but for me she will always be the best period.
Well I've seen the video again, and I still think she looks much older than her age. She actually looks like someone struggling with life (don't we all at some time?). And yes, she was very beautiful, unappreciated at that. Just look at some of the videos of the late 60's , early 70's, she was a hottie
Please let me disagree. I do love the way Dusty sings but still there is (Pasha Hristova - Broya Do Pet) performance of the same song that I find deeper and more sensual.
Dusty had a certain style, class and just the most soulful, expressive voice....listening in 2023
also listening in 2024.....
the greatest singer that ever sang, such a troubled soul... I cried when she died
Damn right young man .
She was still young

Yes she will be missed they do not make em like this anymore.
She was a very beautiful lady ,she had huge charisma on stage and on screen, wide vocal range and a smoothing and an espressive vocal timbre
My favourite female vocalist nobody did it better than dusty
Wow, I wish I had been there. Thank you for this post.
Dusty was an amazing singer! I never followed her and now I so wish I had! Such an amazing voice! She will always be remembered for her grace and style! Rip dusty springfield!
She was gorgeous.

I fully agree with anyone who praise Dusty. Maybe 50 years ago, I was sitting in my tiny room. Listening and wondering what life had in store for me.
Simply brilliant 👏
Still got after all those years.
what a gal, what a star, we wont forget this lady.
Sadly history proves that wrong.
These other comments are well said

This is her best song, I have it on CD.

@@nathanwilliams9176 wow amazing. What a great memory for your family to have and I'm really sorry for your loss.

Only one Dusty
I wouldn't be offended, please put the whole concert on You Tube. it's dusty at her best.
They are selling or renting whole concert on amazon prime i think.9.99 to purchase 2.99 to rent.

Is that big-bird at the start of the vid. "Its good to see the royalty isn't confined to the box" xx :D

Is it my imagination or are the backing singers introducing her with "The Bitch is Back?" I love this woman.

00:01 Princess Margaret
I ignored late dusty springfield sang with princess margareth in audience
Ok who’s second best ?
@Tuckercrew So?? What does that have to do with her great talent?
did she right this song? is she the original?
Written by Welsh composer Clive Westlake ( What do you mean, who's he ?? )
He wrote it about my mother, they dated and were engaged. Come on here to listen to it when missing her.
The guy on the balkony to the right in the beginning look like Forrest Gump !
You don't get what I meant. Try reading the sentence a few times.

I think she looks awesome.
I think you need to re-phrase that.
Russell Harty and Princess Anne? WTF ??
Please let me disagree. I do love the way Dusty sings but still there is (Pasha Hristova - Broya Do Pet) performance of the same song that I find deeper and more sensual.
Great song, but Dusty looks like Krystl Carrington from Dynasty here.
introducing Dusty to "the bitch is back" WTF?!?!
