I bought this vehicle three months ago (4/2023) with only 4000 miles on it. Apparently the car was owned by BMW USA and only taken to shows. I was very happy to get it and absolutely love it. I consider myself very lucky to have scored this car!
I know the car you're talking about. It has basically every option on it and was at a dealership in California for sale. I actually made an offer on it but they would not budge on the price. Congrats on getting it! You got a really sweet car. I'd like to see a walkaround video if you feel like making one. Have you been driving it as your daily?
Have the same vehicle (year and model). Bought used with 33K miles. Up to 40K miles now, with no issues. Concur with all your positive comments. Have not been plagued with any of the maintenance issues you mention (knock on wood). I'm in SoCal and this vehicle is a joy to drive on the roads and freeways here. Blessed with the great gas mileage, performance, and ride. All top notch. Glad we got this vehicle before BMW discontinued diesels in the USA.
I have one and I love it. Bought it new and 90% of my driving is on the interstate...65-70mph. No trouble at all with it...but oil changes, etc are expensive.
I got that from the EGR recall notice, where it says "number of units affected". Congrats on your 540d! I have a bunch of videos about mine on my channel if you're interested.
These diesels are very clean of course, they sell way better than gas ones here in Europe. I don't think the globalists are behind this one, but the average US consumer. If you ask your average american driver if they would buy a diesel sedan, they would probably call the police on you😄

Nice to hear from someone else who owns one! I am glad you've had good luck with yours.

Thanks for sharing! How many miles on it now?
@@youtoobe169 Almost 40,000 miles.
Where did you get that 298 production number from, BMW? I just bought one Alpine white.

@@youtoobe169 Thank you
Any thoughts on this with the b57 vs the previous generation with the n57 in the realm of long term ownership?
I will be keeping this car for the foreseeable future and will make periodic updates. I think it will last a long time.
This is an extremely rare vehicle in the US. Probably less of these made then my m850 here in Germany lol.
I am extremely jealous might I add.
There were 298 of these sold in the US
the environmental gestapo n the usa still flyin around in jets?
I don't understand this comment
@@youtoobe169 restricted diesel emissions to further offset their jet emissions...
@@mikkinikki1902 Whatever BMW did, it sure has a lot of power. I have a lot of diesel smoke smell under the hood so probably not.
