Another great tool to maximize enjoyment in everyday life. And, once again, explained in a way that most minds can easily comprehend and apply. Thanks!
I'm grateful for my mum. It would be really useful for you to do a video on how to cope with the actions of others when they worry you. Particularly when your family won't take care of their health. It's hard to motivate them to be healthy without nagging. When it all goes in an unhealthy direction I tend to punish myself emotionally
Yeah, I reallly agree with that! I also find people who can see the bigger picture really cool two, because that too can get overlooked by a lot of people.
I really appreciate the school of life because with every video it feels like I'm becoming a better person and even while watching this video I had a deep desire to introduce this channel to the people who need guidance on how to be a good human being. So, thank you School of life.
Indeed, artists have a deeper connection with their own emotions. Our feelings are very intense... And whenever we want to be truthful, the words used to express each one are very accurate and sincere.
Oh this speaks to me. :u I'm an illustrator, and i write too. Also have social anxiety. I realized at some point, that when i'm focused mentally on looking for interesting characters i'd love to have for stories, i could compliment anyone. I also noticed that when i'm in this mode, my social anxiety lessens or goes away. I have recently discovered that i do like to go out and just "people-watch". I also realized that i can compliment any art. By "compliment" i mean, for example, if i saw a 5 year old's drawing, i could articulate in about 120 seconds where i see the potential/positives in it (it could be their use of color, or color harmony, or sense of composition, the choice of subject, choice of tools, their enthusiasm for drawing, etc). I can't help but think some people might assume that professional artists wouldn't appreciate art made by beginners. I like to look at and appreciate potential/spirit, skill can be pretty soulless in and of itself. I made skilled but soulless things before and it doesn't feel good, almost like i let the drawing down These habits paved the way for me to notice and point out other things too that i appreciate, not just visuals. I guess i retreated into art to not have to give up saying/thinking positive things altogether. I learned to not say my positive thoughts out loud (some kind of defense mechanism), but now i focus on catching myself thinking positively, and then expressing it verbally. I'm markedly happier with my life
i love this. I'm still a learning artist, trying to get through with all the anxiety as well but being around or just observing people or nature just calms me. i love how your comment here spoke to me! honestly I'm so grateful to catch little things like this whether it's in real life or online, it's so calming 💕
Hi @whiteraven ! what you wrote about "skilled but soulless - i feel it so much. i am a writer too, i've been writing on and off since i was 11, more consistently the last few years. and recently my intuition, the source where our inspiration comes from, it was telling me that i am writing about feelings and emotions in a rational way. like taking a bath with a raincoat on. the depth of observation, feeling and experience and the point at which they're ONE - i've been trying to say it from a more rational/logical place, keeping a distance from fully immersing into my emotions. and this is why, even though my recent writings have been skilled but soulless. can't write about water if there's something in me that doesn't flow.. gifts we are born with but the giving is ours. the giving of it brings up everything. that's the work. i feel this sanctity - like i cannot show up to write with any masks on, even on days i am too emotionally raw and stuff, any masks means my words know i am being dishonest.
This video points out to something that most of us overlook. Appreciation, true appreciation, is key to enjoying life. It applies to everything. Most people go through life hearing without listening, seeing without looking, sniffing and eating without really tasting, and touching without feeling. Becoming more sensitive to details, perceiving them and reflecting on them, can definetly make a life much more enjoying. It goes beyond saying thank you to others, it is saying thank you to life.Thank you for another great video full of wise advise on how to live.
Nicely done. It is easy to be vague, but being precise carries so much more power. I am reminded of the adage "God dwells in the details". So, it seems, does thankfulness... especially when conveyed from the heart to our fellow humans. 😊
Thank you my dear protective angel. I am grateful that you have been by my side. I don’t know what I would have done without you. Love and gratitude. Forever. And ever. ❤️
I actually use this a lot, when I feel something I don't just say the name of the feeling, I describe every little detail that express it (of course depending on the people I'm talking to), like saying that I went to the extinct to do this and that to feel less lonely, rather than just saying that I felt lonely. Same thing about any other feeling, such as love and gratitude. Emotions are so complicated, yet so simple. Our languages aren't good enough to deliver all what we feel in one word, but we can still deliver most of it by describing: 1-the little things that - together - became that feeling. 2-Our actions that show how much we felt.
This is a bit of a treatise on how the two hemispheres of the brain see the world: Why did I enjoy the gift? Left hemisphere: "Because gifts are nice to receive" Right hemisphere: Paints a very specific picture of what it felt like to receive it and notices specific things that cause that feeling, such as the pleasant feeling of knowing the giver was listening the last time we talked about enjoying the thing they gave us, etc...
