It’s 2024 and I’m still mesmerized by this final scene. Also how they synced the actual fight choreography and the transitions of the song. Literally pulls you into it.

The director works very closely with the composer to achieve that exact affect in the final product. They get a final cut of the film, then work their magic into it to match the timings.

Are you kidding? This was so fake and cheesy looking. It's almost embarrassing that we thought this is a good fight. More embarrassing that you still think it is with the fights they produce in movies these days.

@@tester3xso you go from responding that you indeed thought it was good for the time TO changing your mind that it’s garbage compared to todays fight scenes lol 😂… way to link things together simply to be “opposing”. I saw this at maybe 7-8 yrs old… aka a long time ago. It was an influence on me into getting into different martial arts. For the time it was damn good, bringing in your take on it for the sake of simply wanting to “be heard” is dumb. Literally not adding anything of substance to the conversation.

I think you all need to be humbled for you're lack of faith in the great kumite champion Mr. Frank Dux. I know this because he once took me to a kumite and I saw many men in karate uniforms clearly preparing to do something vile and extremely violent by the way leered but then I passed out which was Franks way of saving my life by drugging my drink because no one can witness kumite and live who does not fight and kill other kumitayers. When I woke up the kumite little people had disposed of the evidence and went back to a forest in China where they wait until the next time comes around to find the greatest fighter on earth but clearly a furious battle had been waged because not only were my clothes in shreds and I was sore from head to toe and somehow wearing some poor woman's bra, I shudder to think of what happened to her obviously Frank couldn't save everyone it only makes me more thankful l he was on my side, kid. interestingly I also had on what seemed at first to be lipstick and mascara but Frank said was really just tribal ninja war paint he had applied to my face so everyone would know i was the one Frank bought i mean brought. Without Frank I would have no doubt perished trampled under foot by kung fu warriors and Sumo wrestlers each vying for the right to claim the prize which was some beautiful woman Frank knew and to call themselves Kumite Warrior Grand Champion of Death. A sacred title.

I don't understand why there are people who say this movie hasn't aged well, obviously there are many things about the fashion of the eighties that look strange compared to today, and some scenes that are a little cheesy in the dialogue, but I think that in 80% of the film remains solid, and I think the hypnotic soundtrack helps a lot in that.
