The best tip I can give anyone buying the game is this: Max out Blacksmithing as much as you can as soon as you can. Even from the beginning, you can effortlessly create gear that far outshines anything you'll see in treasure chests at your level, or any gear sets you'll find or get from quests. Disassemble anything you get for components, and when you reach Rathir, find the weapon and armor shop there, and get yourself some Prismere gear to disassemble and rebuild into god-tier equipment.
That's a great idea if you're just trying to power through, but doesn't it kind of kill the excitement of finding a new piece of gear, knowing that it will be garbage compared to what you're already using? Kind of like using hacked gear in Diablo.

However, the main things that determine your strength and damage output are your abilities. The difference between a sword in the hand of a character at low level with no abilities that enhance its powers and a sword in the hands of a character at high level with abilities based around increasing weapon damage is vast. Once you've got high tier gear, you can sell gear to spend on Skill trainers, so you can get a permanent +1 to skills like Detect Hidden, Lockpicking, etc, and respeccing your character to get the build you want. More importantly, a lot of the gear you're going to find will be kinda basic. Barring item sets, most equipment only has maybe one or two bonuses to it at best, and a socket if you're lucky, and every item set I found is lackluster compared to smithed gear of the same tier. Smithed gear has up to four bonuses per item including a gem at max level, and you can tailor it to the optimum setup for your build, rather than hoping that the RNG gods smile down upon you. All in all, the crafting system for this game is far better than the random loot system.
I would advise against this unless on the new Very Hard mode as it breaks the game. At least it did for me 8 years ago when I played 300+ hours. I was way too OP after crafting in the end of the game. Personally I would invest in "Detect Hidden" first off so you wont miss tons of hidden loot and even hidden doors.

Heck, if you invest in becoming a late game mage, your weapons are nothing compared to the massive AOEs you can drop. Kingdoms of Amalur wasn't made to be a hard game, it was made to be a fun game, and in that, it succeeded. Some people just enjoy becoming overpowered and steamrolling over all opposition.
Personally I went Detect Hidden first and only when i was being prevented by soft level caps did I start investing in Blacksmithing. @First Last But I agree with you, the crafted gear in each tier far outperforms the same tier gear you find. At the end of the day, as long as you are having fun it doesn't matter but that is the best option imho
🤣😂 I am so torn about it. In certain aspects I really like it, especially in games like this and BotW. There are so many weapons in the world that there isn't much need to grow super attached to certain weapons. At least there are methods of repairing things in KoA unlike BotW. Even though the Lynels are master blacksmiths, there was not a friendly or civilized one anywhere to be found to repair anything. The realism factor is what is appealing to me. Just like any blade would get worn out the more it's used the damage should drop gradually and could be brought back up to prime if sharpened/repaired. I am curious what the first game was to implement gear durability though.
Also she forgot a lot of important tips : 1) always carry a weapon that deals fire damage around, so you can open the spiderweb walls when you find them. 2) Detect Hidden is the best skill to upgrade 3) save often, and in different slots. The game is as buggy as the original, if not more (they didn't fix any bugs). A few can be game-breaking. 4) Go to the south (area called Webwood), and do the main sidequest in Canneroc asap. The reward is your first house, and it has a personal stash that can hold 300 items. 5) If you like loot-hunting like in Diablo (ie finding gear upgrades from chests, monsters, quests, shops...), don't use blacksmithing or you'll end up creating stuff that's much better than anything you can find. I like the excitement of discovering great loot, but it completely disappears when 99,9999999% of the things you find are junk. 6) Always save your game before trying to dispel a "very hard" treasure chest. Failing at the mini-game could kill you. If you're on pc, you can use Cheat Engine and set the speedhack to 0.25 to slow the game way down and easily dispel any curse (it is also useful to set this speedhack to 2.00 while exploring the overworld to double the game's speed, since it is kinda slow to explore sometimes and the game is incredibly huge). 7) I disagree with Food Then Games on one point : don't try to do all sidequests if you want to not get burnt out before you reach the end! As I said, the same is huge and if you try to 100% it in your first playthrough, chances are high that your attention will go to another game or something before you reach the end.
I do in the very beginning because at very low levels, repair is cheaper than repair kits. And of course at endgame, because once I have 500K gold and nothing to spend it on, 14K to repair armor isn't a big deal.
@@armorvil I usually put 2 points in Detect Hidden then work on Blacksmithing and Sagecrafting. I'll usually max detect hidden around level 15-20 to do the great lorestone hunt. I definitely agree that doing all the sidequests on a first run will make you crazy. Plus you get twists of fate from main and faction quest lines so in the end they make you stronger and you advance quicker.

I'm watching this on November 2021 because the game just got into ps plus, I've never played it so I'm late to the party but I'm enjoying it a lot, thanks for such a helpful clip you got such a sweet voice i could listen to it forever.
Still very valid information. Played the game on release myself and just now replaying the Re-version on another console. One thing I would disagree on, especially for new players is to leave that Special Deliveries box untouched. Play the game as it was released, meaning not touching the free DLC weapons that are overpowered. Only touch the box when/if you respec into a different build and have previously sold all armor and weapon pieces of that build. The box then allows you a really nice stash to get your new experimental build going.
There's a quest in the first village tasking you with gathering 10 books throughout the world. DO NOT TAKE THIS QUEST. You will be stuck with books in your inventory until the entire quest is completed. Only do this quest if you can fast travel everywhere & have enough space in your inventory.
You can store the books in your player stash in the first house you get. And while stored, the quest progress is still shown so you can see how many books you have left to collect.
AM SO HAPPY TO BE PLAYING THIS AGAIN! This, after Darksiders, is my one of my favorite franchises and so happy they are reviving this IP as well. All I wanted was a port for my PS4 so to get some better textures, gameplay improvements, all past expansions and dlc, and a promise of a future expansion was WAY MORE then I could have ever hoped for. And if this is like how they did Darksiders they are already making a sequel... but we wont hear about it for another couple years.
I remember finishing up the main story of this game at around 100 hours. Then I looked in my quest tab and it was still full of quests. I thought I beat the game, but the game beat me
My best tip is to put at least 5 points into Detect Hidden as soon as possible. It's the best early skill because there are quite a few hidden treasure chests or secret doors around the world. Also being able to disarm traps is a godsend.
I've never played this game all the way before and I'm very happy to play it on my pc not mad about the remaster at all coming from a ps3 demo to pc the visuals are a huge leap
sell that stuff in the first chest and get the gold. it doesn't scale with your level so if you go back at a higher level the gear is still for the first level you opened the chest at. if you get a couple points in the mercantile skill you can wait to sell, or sell it right away and buy the first backpack you find at a vendor. you'll be able to craft better gear nearly right away.

Re-release under different publisher would probably be closer to the truth. Console versions got a few QoL updates, but PC version is mostly untouched. Still fun, but not really changed in any significant manner.

Tip 11 Increase your merchant skill when possible. Other then the reason listed in the skills description, trainers & those who do weapons repairs are pretty much the only ones who have set prices that can't be reduced. This way whenever you sell you junk items you'll have a TON of moola to play with for those expensive trainers & repair folks, & even the gems.
I know this isn't a comprehensive list but I'd also like to point out that if you put items you don't want or won't use in your junk you can sell all the junk with one button when you are at a vendor (Traveler vendors for stolen items).

I love this game and the reason why is that the game was made to entertain, not to stress you out nor upset you, it was ment for the player to have fun.... If I can add an opinion on what did it missed, was that it would have being awesome to be able to upgrade Unique items and to increase the limit of level 40... cuz of the dlc's.
Due to the weapons degrading through use, my top tip is to use arrows to smash the boxes, but if that's not as much fun as using daggers/swords etc. then keep a low level weapon just for smashing boxes, it'll save on repair costs and/or geting ambushed only to find your go to weapon being blunted.
The strongest wearables and weapons that you could buy located in Rathir. Just buy them there. But you'll need large amount of money. Of course you can just build it yourself it you wanted something stronger.
I have played the original game for years now. One trick I've learned that makes the game better and can be done in Re-Reckoning, is once I reach a level 3 or 4 , I run all the way to the east coast to Rathir and Moon Camp , activating areas for experience points. I save every time I reach a new area. This gives me a chance to open a few chests, scavenge loot piles and activate some lorestones. Reaching Moon Camp allows me to make contact with Donnah Vulgar and Eren Calse. Donnah will buy peasant clothes, which you find early on, but have no place to sell them for good money and you can sell stolen items to Calse. You can also break crates and vases for easy gold along the way. In Rathir, I go to the Customs House where there is a ton of crates to smash and a storeroom with some good items in them. You can then "fast travel" back to Gorhart with better items and more money. this also makes it easier later on when you need to get to another area, since you have already activated it.
In the OG game the zones were lvl locked im sure you know. So when you went back to starter town and did the whole starter zone the area that Rathir is in is gonna have lvl 4 mobs making the whole zone pointless
- Agreed. Lore Stone are awesome and audio style lore should be mandatory for all games (it was a part of what made Assassin's Creed II and Bioshock so good). None of this grimiore crap. - Definitely want to invest in Detect Hidden asap so you wont miss hidden loot and eventually hidden doors (and eventually it will let you see lore stones on the map). - Oooo! This video has some good points along with the comments. But if your a trophy hunter I would focus more on dispelling and persuade. This may take a while but it’s better knock them out ASAP. I’m just mimicking how I played this 8years ago. As for lodestones, I usually just watch a location guide once I enter a new location just to scratch those off the list as I go.
I played the original and remaster and it's still one of my favorite games ever. This game was a joy to play on very hard. And I didn't play the DLC in the original so going to Dead Kel and the other DLC was great
I'm sure you've used meteor spell in Reckoning mode. If not, it takes out the enemy in one shot (so long as they aren't 2 far away). I like melee myself and usually save spells for large crowds or large enemies.
#1 Tip... get basic damage bindings and basic damage grips in Didenhill and craft them into all new weapons and armor for at least a 100% damage increase. This can be done almost immediately from escaping Allestar Tower in the very beginning of the game.
@@MarcBridie Didenhill is right outside of the region of Odarath that you begin the game in. Follow the main road towards the first Keep of the Warsworn called Shieldring Keep. Take a left and continue following the main road until you unlock the town of Didenhill. You'll need to have leveled up a few levels, have a few thousand to spend, and have a few extra blacksmith skill levels, but all of this is very quick and easy to achieve early. Since you said you've been playing for hours, you most likely have everything you'd need to get started crafting the strongest weapons possible at that point of the game. If you need help, just let me know. Good luck.
Pretty sure the items in the special deliveries chest level with your character as well up until they're found. So, in other words, don't open the chest early, open it when you're close to max level or the items will end up being useless real fast. Considering how badass all of the items look, I'm pretty sure they're meant for end-game equipment.
They’ll only scale up to a certain point (some people have said level 12, it used to be level 40) - but honestly it’s nice to be a bit OP to start the game too so it’s personal preference!! For myself I like it to start the game!
I don't think you can visit lorestones out of order. They always play in the same order no matter which stone you touch first. It would be easy enough to verify as the wiki has the complete text so you could check partial sets to see that they are in order. Also if you have some spare cash you can unbind fate at a Fateweaver and put enough points in Detect Hidden to go find all the stones in the sets that interest you. In the status menu you can see what rewards you get from each set. With these bonuses plus the XP you get from the lorestones you can really beef up a character mid-game.
In Klurikon, specifically High Flugen, there is a place called Primordia. You have to defeat Tirnoch first, but you can go inside and the chickens inside attack you. IDK what the benefit is in killing them. If they gave you food items or something ...
2 things I hoped they would change: 1) all hairstyles available for all playable races. 2) able to use all gods on all races. I would have liked to use a Dokkalfar with fire damage as a base attack
Loved this game until I did the side quest Her Righteous Fury and lost the ability to fast travel. Made the game tedious and stopped playing after 40 or so hours in. Hope they fixed that glitch cause I definitely want to start again
Yeah!!! Im not sure if its the same quest I got the bug but I was fighting some guys and I had to poison the valley by just throwing them over the edge and i went into the cave mid fight by accident and i was almost finished the game and lost fast travel I was sooo distraught
Try saving before entering the cave, but after getting the quest. Reload if it happens again and it should reset. 90% sure it will anyway. Never had it happen to me.
I wish the DLC weapons would level with you. They all look so cool and they are all look like and have the lore of Endgame gear. I mean damnit there are FATE TOUCHED weapons! You'd think something called "Fatetouched" with bonuses that increase your Reckoning mode's duration would be endgame. But no, you use them for like an hour or 2 tops and then either make or find something way better.

I tried that. All my stuff was still lvl 1 or lvl 3. Maybe I missed an update. It doesn't automatically update as I lost internet some time ago ($$ issues), but plan on getting it again soon. Maybe an update recently (within last few days of 10/1) changed that.
Did they add the ability to read the content/ replay the audio from the lorestones because I swear you couldn't do that in the original (not on xbox 360 at least)
I got an important question about that special deliveries chest. So I heard that loot loads into a container when you loot a container. And depending on your level, whatever armor or weapon that's in there, scales with whatever level you are. Would that mean that the stuff in the deliveries chest get stronger the higher your level?
OK - now the "buff" stones... it says "you Might of omrar" or whatever, but it doesn't tell you what the actual effect is? Where do you go to find out what the hell the point in hitting a buff stone is? Is it possible to know before clicking the stone?
I'd recommend selling all the unwanted gear from that special chest in Gorhart since most of it is only really good at the beginning of the game :) Although if you're a new player, make sure to figure out which of the gear you actually want first before selling anything
hello i have a big question, are the legendary items truly legendary this time or still can be easily overshadowed by crafted items? also what is that gameplay improvement they mentioned? did they nerf crafting?
I haven't gotten far enough in to comment on crafting yet, but as far as game play most of what was done is in the background. The big thing is they fixed the loot tables so that an area isn't level locked.
I think it would be good to be a bit better with legendary items if your like amazing at crafting otherwise I'm with you legendary should be like oh shit this is awesome
I found that lorestones have subtitiles glitched as in 2012, they don't appear somtimes or fast forward compared to the voice. I always hated that stuff since I'm not english native (as you can see from my bad english) and I often don't understand what the voice says T_T

I'm not super into builds and generally use what's fun! But for myself personally if you wanted to do pure finesse I'd suggest faeblades and poison to start!

NEVER repair at vendors - the prices are abysmal - you will LOSE tons of GOLD.

I've never played this game all the way before and I'm very happy to play it on my pc not mad about the remaster at all coming from a ps3 demo to pc the visuals are a huge leap
Just stumbled upon this game a few day's ago and i love it. Never heard about this game until a few day's ago.
sell that stuff in the first chest and get the gold. it doesn't scale with your level so if you go back at a higher level the gear is still for the first level you opened the chest at. if you get a couple points in the mercantile skill you can wait to sell, or sell it right away and buy the first backpack you find at a vendor. you'll be able to craft better gear nearly right away.

Re-release under different publisher would probably be closer to the truth. Console versions got a few QoL updates, but PC version is mostly untouched. Still fun, but not really changed in any significant manner.
@@brycearmstrong9370 there are some QoL things updated for PC. Most of those are things like the loot tables that run completely in the background though.
Tip 11 Increase your merchant skill when possible. Other then the reason listed in the skills description, trainers & those who do weapons repairs are pretty much the only ones who have set prices that can't be reduced. This way whenever you sell you junk items you'll have a TON of moola to play with for those expensive trainers & repair folks, & even the gems.
I know this isn't a comprehensive list but I'd also like to point out that if you put items you don't want or won't use in your junk you can sell all the junk with one button when you are at a vendor (Traveler vendors for stolen items).

I love this game and the reason why is that the game was made to entertain, not to stress you out nor upset you, it was ment for the player to have fun.... If I can add an opinion on what did it missed, was that it would have being awesome to be able to upgrade Unique items and to increase the limit of level 40... cuz of the dlc's.

Due to the weapons degrading through use, my top tip is to use arrows to smash the boxes, but if that's not as much fun as using daggers/swords etc. then keep a low level weapon just for smashing boxes, it'll save on repair costs and/or geting ambushed only to find your go to weapon being blunted.

The strongest wearables and weapons that you could buy located in Rathir. Just buy them there. But you'll need large amount of money.
Of course you can just build it yourself it you wanted something stronger.

I have played the original game for years now. One trick I've learned that makes the game better and can be done in Re-Reckoning, is once I reach a level 3 or 4 , I run all the way to the east coast to Rathir and Moon Camp , activating areas for experience points. I save every time I reach a new area. This gives me a chance to open a few chests, scavenge loot piles and activate some lorestones. Reaching Moon Camp allows me to make contact with Donnah Vulgar and Eren Calse. Donnah will buy peasant clothes, which you find early on, but have no place to sell them for good money and you can sell stolen items to Calse. You can also break crates and vases for easy gold along the way. In Rathir, I go to the Customs House where there is a ton of crates to smash and a storeroom with some good items in them. You can then "fast travel" back to Gorhart with better items and more money. this also makes it easier later on when you need to get to another area, since you have already activated it.
In the OG game the zones were lvl locked im sure you know. So when you went back to starter town and did the whole starter zone the area that Rathir is in is gonna have lvl 4 mobs making the whole zone pointless
- Agreed. Lore Stone are awesome and audio style lore should be mandatory for all games (it was a part of what made Assassin's Creed II and Bioshock so good). None of this grimiore crap.
- Definitely want to invest in Detect Hidden asap so you wont miss hidden loot and eventually hidden doors (and eventually it will let you see lore stones on the map).

This video has some good points along with the comments. But if your a trophy hunter I would focus more on dispelling and persuade. This may take a while but it’s better knock them out ASAP. I’m just mimicking how I played this 8years ago. As for lodestones, I usually just watch a location guide once I enter a new location just to scratch those off the list as I go.
I played the original and remaster and it's still one of my favorite games ever. This game was a joy to play on very hard. And I didn't play the DLC in the original so going to Dead Kel and the other DLC was great

I love the Meteor spell here. That combined with elemental fury = no need to use weapons for me. Straight up caster build 😁
I'm sure you've used meteor spell in Reckoning mode. If not, it takes out the enemy in one shot (so long as they aren't 2 far away). I like melee myself and usually save spells for large crowds or large enemies.
#1 Tip... get basic damage bindings and basic damage grips in Didenhill and craft them into all new weapons and armor for at least a 100% damage increase. This can be done almost immediately from escaping Allestar Tower in the very beginning of the game.
Huh? Almost immediately? I've played quite a few hours now. I don't even know where Didenhill is. And I don't know what bindings and grips are.
@@MarcBridie Didenhill is right outside of the region of Odarath that you begin the game in. Follow the main road towards the first Keep of the Warsworn called Shieldring Keep. Take a left and continue following the main road until you unlock the town of Didenhill. You'll need to have leveled up a few levels, have a few thousand to spend, and have a few extra blacksmith skill levels, but all of this is very quick and easy to achieve early. Since you said you've been playing for hours, you most likely have everything you'd need to get started crafting the strongest weapons possible at that point of the game.

Pretty sure the items in the special deliveries chest level with your character as well up until they're found. So, in other words, don't open the chest early, open it when you're close to max level or the items will end up being useless real fast. Considering how badass all of the items look, I'm pretty sure they're meant for end-game equipment.
They’ll only scale up to a certain point (some people have said level 12, it used to be level 40) - but honestly it’s nice to be a bit OP to start the game too so it’s personal preference!! For myself I like it to start the game!
I don't think you can visit lorestones out of order. They always play in the same order no matter which stone you touch first. It would be easy enough to verify as the wiki has the complete text so you could check partial sets to see that they are in order.
Also if you have some spare cash you can unbind fate at a Fateweaver and put enough points in Detect Hidden to go find all the stones in the sets that interest you. In the status menu you can see what rewards you get from each set. With these bonuses plus the XP you get from the lorestones you can really beef up a character mid-game.
Level up the black Smith on your skill tree and you kill be unstable.
I recommend buying repair kits for repairs, its alot cheaper in gold than having vendor do the repairs

In Klurikon, specifically High Flugen, there is a place called Primordia. You have to defeat Tirnoch first, but you can go inside and the chickens inside attack you. IDK what the benefit is in killing them. If they gave you food items or something ...

2 things I hoped they would change: 1) all hairstyles available for all playable races. 2) able to use all gods on all races. I would have liked to use a Dokkalfar with fire damage as a base attack
Loved this game until I did the side quest Her Righteous Fury and lost the ability to fast travel. Made the game tedious and stopped playing after 40 or so hours in. Hope they fixed that glitch cause I definitely want to start again
Yeah!!! Im not sure if its the same quest I got the bug but I was fighting some guys and I had to poison the valley by just throwing them over the edge and i went into the cave mid fight by accident and i was almost finished the game and lost fast travel I was sooo distraught
Try saving before entering the cave, but after getting the quest. Reload if it happens again and it should reset. 90% sure it will anyway. Never had it happen to me.

I wish the DLC weapons would level with you. They all look so cool and they are all look like and have the lore of Endgame gear. I mean damnit there are FATE TOUCHED weapons! You'd think something called "Fatetouched" with bonuses that increase your Reckoning mode's duration would be endgame.
But no, you use them for like an hour or 2 tops and then either make or find something way better.

I heard the Special Deliveries Chest sets it's level when you open it, but caps at lvl 12, so it's ideal to not open the chest until level 12.
I tried that. All my stuff was still lvl 1 or lvl 3. Maybe I missed an update. It doesn't automatically update as I lost internet some time ago ($$ issues), but plan on getting it again soon. Maybe an update recently (within last few days of 10/1) changed that.

So I heard that loot loads into a container when you loot a container. And depending on your level, whatever armor or weapon that's in there, scales with whatever level you are.

OK - now the "buff" stones... it says "you Might of omrar" or whatever, but it doesn't tell you what the actual effect is? Where do you go to find out what the hell the point in hitting a buff stone is? Is it possible to know before clicking the stone?

I'd recommend selling all the unwanted gear from that special chest in Gorhart since most of it is only really good at the beginning of the game :) Although if you're a new player, make sure to figure out which of the gear you actually want first before selling anything
FYI, the special chest is level based, you can get better gear if you wait until say level 10-12, just DON'T TOUCH THE CHEST, OPEN IT LATER!

hello i have a big question, are the legendary items truly legendary this time or still can be easily overshadowed by crafted items? also what is that gameplay improvement they mentioned? did they nerf crafting?
I haven't gotten far enough in to comment on crafting yet, but as far as game play most of what was done is in the background. The big thing is they fixed the loot tables so that an area isn't level locked.
I think it would be good to be a bit better with legendary items if your like amazing at crafting otherwise I'm with you legendary should be like oh shit this is awesome

I found that lorestones have subtitiles glitched as in 2012, they don't appear somtimes or fast forward compared to the voice. I always hated that stuff since I'm not english native (as you can see from my bad english) and I often don't understand what the voice says T_T
If you go into the lore section I had mentioned you can read each piece of lore which might help! You can also re-listen to it as well!

The no.1 tip I can give is to just play it for 360 because the remaster is just a buggy crashing mess lol. I’ve never played a game that crashes as much as this one. I love this game and saying this makes me sad. But thq did this game dirty!!!!

What char build would you suggest for someone who likes the finesse skill set best?
I'm not super into builds and generally use what's fun! But for myself personally if you wanted to do pure finesse I'd suggest faeblades and poison to start!
I love the game on the Xbox one X but there's a problem and I don't understand it every time I kill one of these wolf-like creatures it keeps crashing and kicking me out of the game I don't know if it's a major bug that needs fixing in the game but I'd like to know that I'm not the only one that's having this problem?
